    The parts that you see on the video are:
    +Mossberg - Action tube assembly 7-3/4"
    +Mossberg - Action tube nut 7-3/4"
    +Magpul - SGA stock for mossberg 500/590/590A1
    +Magpul - MOE Forend for Mossberg 500/590/590A1
    (*the action tube and nut are made by mossberg, they are not promag.)

      I saw some mention in other videos that they used a 7-5/8” action slide? Do you know what the reason might be for this? My maverick has the 20” barrel.

    Yea i will be returning this tomorrow. This pro mag was a waste of my time. I contacted the eBay seller and hopefully I can get my full refund. For now I put back my OEM handgaurd and kept the magpul stock I really like the look still. Thanks for your help. I'll keep you posted once I finish this project.

      I find the ribbing on the OEM handguard pretty bad, personally. That texture and shape results in blisters after an hour of shooting.

    I have the 18.5 barrel and i actually bought the magpul as well.. does it matter what size pump action slide i use?(6 3/4 or 75/8)
    also, i know this gun is very popular in certain states i got mine in academy thats why i'm asking what size, since its hard to see in forums and other sites are saying this will not work, but you just did it thats why it was bothering me.

    Thanks for sharing this. So when you bought the Mossberg 500 Slide did you also have to buy the Slide nut and the piece you installed behind the slide nut? Or were they included?

    • @mr_zykon
      @mr_zykon  9 лет назад

      longdread575 the slide nut was bought separately, and the piece that is behind, comes with the magpul forend (actually comes with two, one for the mossberg 500 and the other for the 590, but with the 500 no problem)

      Thanks! Do you think the Magpul fore end will fit a 7 5/8 action slide (Specifically the ProMag Mossberg 12 Gauge 7 5/8" Action Slide) or does it have to be the 7 3/4 action slide? I am getting conflicting answers when I google the question.

    • @mr_zykon

      longdread575 i can't assure you that it is going to work perfectly, i don´t have a 7 5/8" to make a test, but if you are worried, ask in the web page of brownells or magpul.
      on amazon i found that if you see on the customes reviews of the promag (link below), looks like it will fit the magpul forend.

    I bought an 88 and the magpul furniture. I didn’t find any video when I was putting my stuff together. I had a little trouble with the action when I pulling it back. I had to shave the magpul forend and the trigger assembly, to help pull back.

      NinjaAlex6r I am sorry to hear that, but since the video was posted, i used the shotgun regularly and i didn't experience any trouble with the handguard or the stock.
      For the action tube nut, i only use the tool that came with the handguard, and i tighten the tube nut, until it was no longer possible with my hands.
      I only used parts from mossberg OEM from brownells, they were more expensive, but the reviews for the promags didn't convince me.

    • @mr_zykon
      @mr_zykon  9 лет назад

      NinjaAlex6r If the trouble was the promag nut and if you have the warranty, you can try to return it or make a complaint in the web page of Promag: promagindustries.com/contact-us
      Take photos or videos and show them the trouble
      Don't try to make a fix that can ruin your warranty, i had a trouble with a tac star magazine tube extension that broke while i was shooting (i was filming in that time), after a year and some little problems, they send me a new one.
      If you don't have a warranty, you can ask to a proper gunsmith what you can do or send your gun. If you try to fix it yourself, be careful to not damage your handguard or gun.

      +Sinister13 Cruz yes there's a plug on the inside of the magazine tube. A wooden plug is placed in there to make it legal for hunting but this plug can be removed intermittently.

      Fleming 007 hopefully that "NAFTA" CRAP will come to an end
      That was a bill clinton policy that was by design to bring América down to the socialist poverty level of many other countries... It gets other countries wealthy while Destroying jobs here in Conus.

      @@gunchief0811 Did your daddy teach you all that? 🤣 Shit has been happening like that since before NAFTA, the corporations in this country still operated like that even when there were regulations in place to control the out-sourcing of labor. It really ramped up around Reagan's administration when they started de-regulating the banking industry and financial institutions. It's not just the democrat politicians that are corporate whores, the republicans are too. The U.S. government has the wool pulled over the eyes of all you bipartisan morons. You let your political affiliations control what truths you accept and which ones you deny. It's fucking hilarious to listen to the rhetoric of you smooth brain idiots though, thanks for the laugh. 😆😃😄😂

      (Prices 12/2018) Less shipping and taxes here are the parts: slide action assembly $67/Brownells, Magpul black stock $76/Shield Group, Magpul black forend $25 at most places. New Maverick $166 (Mrgundealer) and the parts add up to $168. Buy a used Mossberg 500 and you won't need to replace the action assembly.

    • @eliterecovery9703

      Josh Delaney it's a 7 3/4 slide action tube. You can order from many places, but they are all on back order

    Can you use the action tube assembly thats already on the gun?

    • @southernplinker9380
      @southernplinker9380 5 лет назад

      Zanemalmrose You cannot because the action bars are embedded within the forend. You have to get the slide tube to account for the lack of action bars on the Magpul forend.

    You do not explain which Magpul parts you installed, nor do you explain any features and benefits. A video that simply shows fingers twisting in screws and bolts, with no dialogue is not helpful to viewers. It’s actually frustrating. I like the idea you have of making a video of good quality upgrades for the Maverick 88. Would it be possible to make another video of furniture as well as lights, sights, mounting items, etc. for the Maverick 88?

    Why would you spend all that money to Gucci a $190 shotgun? When you could just buy a higher quality shotgun with the same amount. I own a maverick 88 and it’s a good reliable shotgun but if I’m gonna trick something out it’ll be the 590 or the beretta semi-auto 12 gauge…
