    a fun thing to do would be to actually create a player like that on nba 2k25 and do 1v1 to see who plays best and u guys react to it on stream. same for team drafts would be a cool add-on

  • @richandrae188
    @richandrae188 Месяц назад +19

    MVP should mean and only mean “If this player was removed from the roster, how much worse does the team get.” And the team that would be the worst without their star player, that guy is MVP

    • @Frank-nz1wr
      @Frank-nz1wr Месяц назад +18

      I hate that criteria bc it’s such a slap in the face to reward mediocrity simply because removing them would make them ass. I feel like being a higher seed needs to be accounted for, otherwise ur rewarding stats and the mvp reward as a whole becomes totally uninteresting without the balance of seed and stats. It’s also so catered for jokic, this Bradley Beal averaged 31ppg or something like that when curry won the scoring title, the wizards were like a 7 seed, nobody was giving him any real mvp love just bc he was having a career year. Also, once the team gets better again if the front office doesn’t sell, he’ll be back in the race race, it’s ok to reward other people who are also deserving, and viewing former mvps at a higher standard, especially already having a 6th seed mvp already

    • @Irrelevant66
      @Irrelevant66 Месяц назад +2

      @@Frank-nz1wr”it’s catered to Jokic” because his team without him is half low tier nba players and half g league and so he’s…really really valuable? The most valuable some might say.

    • @Irrelevant66
      @Irrelevant66 Месяц назад +1

      @@Frank-nz1wrif you think it’s the same as rewarding just stats you literally don’t understand the shit. That’s that man

    • @Frank-nz1wr
      @Frank-nz1wr Месяц назад +3

      @@Irrelevant66 for the stats part I’m saying, it’s easier to put up BIG numbers on a BAD team, since good teams end up having other players contributing. Also I’m tired of this “g league team” bs, maybe run plays through other players sometimes instead of being the whole offensive system so they can get experience playing and playmaking individually, look at Memphis, jay huff was on the nuggets last year too, why is he suddenly productive elsewhere?? Murray Gordon mpj Braun strawther Watson are all very solid players, it’s like the LeBron affect where it’s everyone else’s fault. I stand by the point of not rewarding mediocrity, it’s been like that historically, why move the goalpost? He’s already got one of those mvps where he was a low seed, just like LeBron in the 2010’s, best player doesn’t always win, Kobe has 1 mvp, it ain’t criminal to reward other players deserving of it. If the nuggets were a top 2-3 seed and jokic was putting up 32 14 11 on his efficiency, hand it to him, that’s a unanimous mvp if I’ve ever seen one, but those numbers on a seed 8-5 are not gonna push him over the edge

    • @Irrelevant66
      @Irrelevant66 Месяц назад +1

      @ That’s the fuckin issue is you change your own criteria for every point. They’re not useless stats or just numbers, those stats are what it takes to win games. The other players don’t get ran through because they can’t run it so they’d be an even LOWER seeded team. They would lose those games if they were centered. Those are solid players, not even one of them is a playmaker. None of them have the desire or ability to create a shot except Murray who doesn’t anymore (the past 30ish games) If you’re tired of the g league thing imagine how tired nuggets fans like me are man. Huff was always showing signs of what he is on the grizzlies and Malone didn’t want to risk games on him because Malone is kind of a joke as a coach and famously stubborn. He doesn’t like the guys he’s getting and so he’s turned in to Thibodeau. Again that’s why Jok is so valuable because even the coach is kinda just average, look at the schemes he’s running with or without Jok. They get exploited. The clippers made him look stupid back to back and he changed nothing. Jokic is phenomenal not mediocre so you’re not rewarding mediocrity you’re being forced to acknowledge value.

      It was almost funny how they all agreed Jimmy would be great for the Warrios alongside Steph, Dray and Wiggins as if they'd even still have a team if they tried to get him without using either Draymond or Wiggins' salaries... but as soon as they mentioned the Lakers Isaac was talking about how they'd have to give up too many players

    NBA fans will constantly shit on our stars then when we say something it’s “oh mavs fans have a victim complex” you just don’t want to admit you were wrong or have a bias. Jokic is putting up insane stats yes. Unprecedented. So did Luka and that didn’t matter. Jokic wasn’t really “close” with him last year. He simply played with the starting line up so much that his advanced stats were inflated. That doesn’t mean he’s not a great player. So no jokic isn’t having different completion than Luka did.

    • @deadlylightningspirit4295

      @Irrelevant66 Месяц назад +1

      Yeah that advanced stats and Jokic not being close with Luka line is borrowed, you’re looking HARD for reasons to whine and being dead wrong in the process. Jokic was drastically better than Luka based on quality of team, Luka had the better team and was severely less efficient. You just gonna say that’s not true based on fuckin nothing except more points for Luka who averaged 22 shots a night in 37 minutes a game last year. Jokic is averaging that many points this year on a less shot with 11% better from the field and 16% better from three with four more rebounds and two more assists. So if you wanted Luka to win last year and don’t think Jok should right now you’re just dishonest.

    Luka will never win MVP. Even when he put up every stat at a competitive level and took his team the farthest in playoffs, it will always be something, out of shape, no defense. Always had the worst seed, always proved himself against stronger teams but eyy, he just isn't the stereotype you all want. Didn't expect these guys to hate so hard too, but sure, man, just give it to SGA, I know that's what y'all want. The Thunder is clearly performing better. If it goes to Jokic, all sense goes out the window. Luka should retire bro. He won't ever get the fan's love or the critics and he prolly has enough money.
