Curious, So just watching the Olympics and I was wondering do rhythmic gymnastics that use a hula hoop, does a hoop cost more then a standard hulahoop from the toy store? Or are they 5$ plastic hoops found at any toy store!

Generally the cheap hoops will be too small and light. To perform rhythmic skills you will want a hoop that comes to around hip height when you stand it beside you, and it is easier to manipulate when it is a bit heavier. My hoop was around £32 for a 85cm diameter chacott hoop, but I believe you can get decent hoops in the UK for much cheaper from Decathlon
