The gears cog out like that and make that grindin noise in the diffs because the stock spectrum setup ESC & motor is sensor less combo. If you throw upgraded censored rock racer set up in there it’ll make a completely different rig. It’ll crawl way smoother with no gear cogs ✌️
@@minneapolismike6124 Castle 1515 2200kv. Its more of a 1/8th scale setup but to me the rey chassis is closer to 1/8 then 1/10 anyways... Torque is never a problem, loads of low end control, had to pinion up a lot to get the speed back tho... Doesnt bother me, im currently in the Texas heat and it never even gets warm.
Was thinking about getting one of these as I really like the look and it's something a little different. But I have read a lot of reviews and the truck seems to be just ok for most terrain but not really great at anything.
To me I feel it’s just a matter of knowing what your getting into before you do… I had a rock rey and really hated it, with the locked diffs it broke a LOT. I have put a lot of miles on this truck and not broken anything, so to me that’s a huge improvement they did in opening up all three diffs. I personally love driving this thing in every terrain, weather rocky, track conditions, or even on a hike. I actually have a review video for it on my channel if you wanted to check it out and maybe give me a sub. 😁
@@falkenphil557 Watched your review video and it has almost convinced my to buy one. Going to my local hobby shop tomorrow to pick up a new vehicle and just might be this one. I did subscribe to your channel.👍
@@cdnrock7433 thanks man! I hope Your as happy with it as I am with mine! I tried really hard to make sure I emphasized on what I did not like about it, and what I did not like about the rock rey, and how much better this one is in my opinion. Thanks again!
I had one of these and got rid of it after not too long. I dislike having to remove several screws to remove the body. Also, getting to the center differential is a nightmare. I prefer the TEN platform.
The clogging is one thing ( i will replace with a sensored motor soon) but the internal gears make a high-pitched noise too. Grease ? Maybe will work. But i still love the car ;)
Using it exactly for what it was made for. Great video 👍
Thanks man! I got a video of it at proline by the fire and that one was much better as far as king of the hammers style content.

Yep I know, its already all been swapped out. I just made as many videos as I could with it stock to show people how it is out of the box.
@@falkenphil557 What combo you end up throwing in it? kv?

It’s pretty great in dirt and sand, not a rock crawler

Not gonna disagree, what you said is all very true... its a blast to drive tho so I just suffer through those parts.
@@falkenphil557 That is what is so great about the hobby there is something for everyone.
is the rear diff locked?
All stock everything’s open.
I like this car, and own one, but it makes a horrible sound !
Tear into it and see what it is! Is it just the clogging at super low speeds and startup?
