We say we celebrate Thanksgiving because it's a celebration of "the friendship between the Native Americans and the Pilgrims" but really the first Thanksgiving was a celebration of the pilgrims' victory over the Native Americans (they killed them). Now people mostly see it as a day to be thankful for their family, friends, and plenty of food. I believe back then they held a feast this time of year to celebrate the plentiful harvest, but idk
