Skill based match making / MMR has no place in any casual mode. The only way this has a chance of changing is the power of the community coming together.
its always the same in these new fps games its horrible hopefully they listen because delta force could be the one shooter who can be better then some other sbmm fps shit games :)
I agree with every single point you made in this clip (you just earned a sub). SBMM has done more to delete the fun from online gaming than any other trend. BF3 &4 did not need SBMM to be fun, and neither does this. Games look and feel better these days, yet the gaming experience gets old and frustrating infinitely faster now and this is why. I've only put a few hours into the game so far so I'm yet to see the SBMM side effects yet but no doubt I will as soon as the game has profiled my skills. If the devs don't remove this shit ASAP I'll be uninstalling and moving on
No one wants to play games without skill based matchmaking. The evidence is in all the games that have come out without it that have died. It's not fun to play people at your skill level
The reason I got good as a bad player was by facing adversity. If you tailor everyone into their groups then it just gets stale. Sometimes I wanna shit stomp the enemy and the cost to me is getting shit stomped back. I've had more fun against sweats in BF4 than playing "unranked" in this game
I'm still having fun with the game. I do enjoy the challenge but I'm human just like everyone else and sometimes I just want to chill and click on enemies lol. You cannot do that with SBMM
@EndersFPS You realize those enemies you're clicking on are players too? Lol. Your chill games come at the expense of others who will now have to sweat way more than you would under sbmm
@@KeyJOSH8 are u kidding me, one random good player on a team of 32 players will not ruin your experience. Without sbmm, sometimes you get shit on and sometimes you shit on others without having to sweat every game. You get a chill experience like in battlefield games.
@@ridwannoor6049 This really shows how you're unable to imagine the experience of those who are low skill. For them, it's not one random good player on a team of 32, its 30 good players, then me and 1 other dogshit player getting stomped on every game. If you take a sample size of a target group, it tends to resemble the wider group. A below-average player will be bottom-tier in most of the lobbies they get matched in. An average player will be mid-tier in most of the lobbies they get matched in. An above average player will dominate most of the lobbies they get matched in. This is just how it works out statistically, and it's exactly the experience I had as an average player on XDefiant with no sbmm. Smack in the middle of the scoreboard every damn game. This is why I never buy it when people say "we don't want easier lobbies, we just want variety." Playing XDefiant was the least variety I've had on any fps in years.
@@KeyJOSH8 That's the whole point of not having sbmm. You can clearly see how well you are doing and can see yourself improve. With sbmm you never know it and just get a fake experience. I would rather play offline games if I don't care about seeing myself getting better. Even in offline games a big part of the fun is just getting better at it.
Bro yall need to stop complaining... its in most games for a reason. Data shows more players play when players are on their level of play. Trust me im a sweat in BF but i can see how annoying it mist be to new players to come in and get rekted everygame by players like me or enders. We are the loud minority complaining that we wanna beat up noobs. The other 90% of players like it or COD would of took it out years ago if it was losing them money.
@@tuelzalt This is the worst argument ive heard. You arent a sweat, so dont lie now to support your argument. Sbmm does not belong in CASUAL/PUBLIC matchmaking. It affects ping, creates a meta environment for the good players (everyone using same weapon pool) to get an edge. Sbmm is fair only in ranked and thats it. Im convinced the people who are okay with sbmm/eomm in public matches are the NOOBS who been getting "stomped"
What baffles me whenever there's SBMM in a casual non-ranked playlist in any game, be it Delta Force, Destiny 2, Call of Duty, whatever, is the fact that it PUNISHES you for getting better at the game. This kind of system is why I quit playing Call of Duty after Modern Warfare 2019, and is why any interest in playing Delta Force had completely died for me. If your "reward" for getting better at the game is getting into games that feel like tournaments along with worse connection quality for the sake of a "more fair experience for everyone", then why would you want to get better? Imagine doing so good at your job that your boss decides to decrease your pay as you get better and more efficient at it. Not only that, for a game like Delta Force, part of the fun of a Battlefield style game is messing around with off meta weapons, loadouts, and tactics. Because of SBMM, there's no room for that. You need to lock in if you want to do well, or you get your ass kicked for 2 to 3 games after which the game will throw you a pity lobby so you can have that one chance to actually take things easy and have fun for that play session. It drives me up the wall that this form of SBMM in casual, non-ranked playlists has become more or less normalized. Very ironic that the very thing that developers are claiming will draw in more players is what's pushing them away, at least in my case.
Same, I legit stopped playing d2 pvp and cod because of how sweaty I had to be AT ALL TIMES(plus other reasons but this was a major factor). I want to hangout with the boys, if I wanted a ranked experience I would play CS2 and Overwatch.
That is how many jobs work though. If you become more efficient you either get paid for less hours or do more work for the same pay. Might even get passed up for promotions because you're too valuable to move from that position.
Nobody punishes you mofo. It protects lesser skilled people from a terrible experience being beamed nonstop by actual human aimbots. Get rekt! Play Minecraft if you want to abuse noobs. Damn, a whole book written on the butthurt of playing against similar skill players. Go cry a river!
We should stress the fact that our newbie friends are dropping the game entirely because they can’t survive in our lobbies. If the devs realize that the system made to protect them is literally doing the opposite they might be more prone to change it
@@mattlife25 What are you smoking? Enders was crushing a lot of great FPS players on the tournament, do you really believe he`s afraid of facing good players? LMAO Also go watch the video he literally explained why SBMM breaks the enjoyment of the game.
Veteran 20+ year FPS player here (BF series being my core game), I'm a dad now and mostly play late at night after work and family is in bed etc. Being late at night, the game I decide to play depends on how much effort I'm feeling on putting in. With Delta Force, I was looking forward to juping into ranked mode if i felt up for being sweaty, or going into casual if I was too tired and just felt like being brain dead and mucking around. I hate games that don't give me the option and instead force me to be a sweat, I'll actively stop playing games that do that (Hi CoD series, I'm looking at you). Really hope the devs see the community backlash on this and move SBMM to ranked mode only like it should be.
Ranked and unranked are pretty much the same lobby (it's better to enable ranked for rewards, lmao). Second of all, the game isn't exactly sweaty. Sure, there are high-skilled players and campers, but I don't see a problem for myself to stay in the middle of the scoreboard. The biggest issue is the server issues. There is some sort of rubberbanding going on which compresses incoming damage into a few frames, so you die pretty much instantly if the server doesn't put you high enough into processing queue (if you've been there for the launch of BFV you know what I'm talking about, it's exactly the same). The moment the game put me higher in the processing priority, I stopped having instadeaths and jumped straight to top-1 spot of the scoreboard. SBMM is not the issue, netcode is.
@@MrDarthImperius I'm an OCE player so netcode and server issues is always something I have to deal with. I haven't played Delta Force since the beta back in October and it was definitely an issue then, especially because of no OCE servers. I've heard its better in this release and that there's OCE servers now so I'll reserve my judgement until I give it another shot. BF4 as much as it's now seen as many BF players favourite, had horrible netcode issues on release. XDefiant was the same with bad netcode. I was playing with ranked mode enabled back in October, it was news to me when Enders said it doesn't actually split the player lobies. That's dumb and definitely something that should be fixed as well. Agree that Delta Force isn't high up on the sweaty games list. But if a game's going to have casual and ranked mode, then they need to work appropriately.
The way it happen with my friend was 6h of pure fun, then 6 of frustration. I have a 0,6kd with 10% accuracy. Im a noob. But im a medic and make top of the leaderboard while being on capture zones and reviving. Now the game put me in top 1% lobbies. I get spawnkilled everytime. I can barely play. I will have to quit despite 10h of joy and fun.
Totally get it man. I can't even kill players unless I'm using a sniper and headshot them. I get totally destroyed playing the other 3 classes now so I only switch to them when I plan to avoid killing and only support. (anti tank, and Support class)... I will say I'm getting better at sniping at least! 🤣
You might be on to something here. I am also a medic that actually revives people, and get high on the scoreboard for that. My k/d when I first started playing was 2, which is what it was in Xdefiant (which had no SBMM). However, after being in the top of the scoreboard for revives a few games, lobbies suddenly got a lot tougher and my k/d dropped to 1. I don't mind that, but my friend is not as good as me, and he plummeted from a 1 k/d to a match last night where he went 5 / 20, all because SBMM had me drag him into higher skilled lobbies. SBMM only protects low skilled players if they play solo or group with other low skilled players. He quit out of frustration and I don't know if I can bring him back, as he was pretty sour about it. I think I will try to stop playing Medic for awhile to bring down my skill level, just so he doesn't have to be miserable when playing with me. Sorry in advance for not rezzing people like I used to, but the game actively punishes me for being a team player.
Military Conflict: Vietnam Is a FPS made by a small team of devs, and is surprisingly well made for an early access. Its only 15 dollars on steam. It supports offline bots + Offline progression. Has no SBMM/EOMM, or microtranactions. The bots are decently good for a small indie game, and it supports steam workshop. It has character customization. And the gunplay for me anyways reminds me of Black ops 1 gunplay.
Maybe try to actually play the game instead of complaining? If you don't like this game, don't play it until devs fix the issue, easy solution for your problem.
@@Incogn1to... good point. I hope the sizeable chunk of sbmm haters skip this game, and all that's left are tourists who'll never touch the game a second time, and eventually the game dies. Good thinking!
@@a2daj83 depends how aggressive sbmm is, if its not letting low geared people into matches with high tier gear dudes then thats a good thing. After all i dont spend 1 mill on ammo just to shoot a no gear hatchling.

dont get clickbaited, this video is pretty bad. noone in here even noticed that SBMM is a thing, until the info went public. it is a very minor version and not compareable with COD one. I have a 2.5KD and popping nukes every 2rd to 3rd games, i dont need to play like a pro gamer like in COD to do that.
The moment I went 95/32 first match on release it was already over for me. Even my friends had to suffer the brutal SBMM with me. This is not what we wanted from Delta Force.
I want to know does it get better or do i just perpetually get punished as i improve at the game and get better spm/kpm/etc? My last 2 days on the game feel annoying in terms of how opponents r playing
started out with a massive positive K/D per match, and now the last 2 days i average at about a 2+ k/d ratio because i get pitted against ppl who live longer proned like rats in corners. it feels like it gets worse
@@cherryjr.9815 And the worst part is that reverse boosting doesn't work on this game, I tried it on the chinese version a couple months ago and got my win rate down to 40% but the lobbies were still full of gifted gamers 💀
@@cherryjr.9815smoke spam (shafted anyone?) and ratty players that simply don’t move has been my experience… of course majority of them are not sprinting around the map hitting multi kills, but every match has a couple of those on both teams, it’s more so people playing every single life like their balls are in a vice about to get smashed if they die
In my experience the issue is the netcode. I was getting very quick deaths where it felt like all of the bullets were just compressed into a few frames (remember BFV launch?). After a bunch of matches the game decided to give me processing priority and this issue was gone. Suddenly I was on an equal footing with my enemies, started getting more frags (I actually got into top-1) but the enemies were killing me as well, it just took them a reasonable amount of time to do. All-in-all, I think that the playing experience will definitely get better for everyone, unless you're looking to pub stomp. And it will keep getting better if the netcode issues are addressed.
Honestly, there is just so much randomness in 32v32 that the bottom fragger of any given team has a chance to kill the top player out of sheer luck/positioning, and while it's annoying there is plenty of cheese for rats to use to net easy kills. Not to mention that finding 64 people of similar skill is a nightmare for good connectivity(as mentioned in the video). I just find it unnecessary to have sbmm in 32v32. Randomness is a core, sometimes frustrating, part of the game that can favor the worst and the best players in the same lobby.
6:30 I'm pretty good at FPS games and I agree with SBMM. If someone gets home from their 9-5 and just wants to relax with some Delta Force, I'd hope they don't have to deal with some jump shoting TTV who's in the top 5% of aim. I was demolishing for the first few days of Delta Force and getting top 3 on the scoreboard every game. Now I'm getting progressively harder matches, and that's okay. I'm fine getting knocked down a peg and fighting someone of an equal skill level instead of 9-5 Jerry. Low skill players will gradually get better, thus putting them in higher skill matches. They don't just live in a dreamy world of easy kills and free wins, they're in the low skill bracket because they're at that skill level, so from their perspective it's a challenge. The matchmaking putting Enders into high ping servers is bad though, that should be fixed. It should also be clearly explained that both casual and ranked have SBMM. In sum: SBMM is necessary so that the majority of players don't have to deal with top 5% players farming them. As someone who will stomp in non SBMM lobbies, I am all for it. Make me fight people of my own skill level.
I’ve been good at every fps game I’ve played and have a 9-5 and get an hour or 2 max a night to play. Sbmm is terrible and having a job is not necessarily an excuse, some people are just bad no matter how much they play and better players shouldn’t get punished for it. Worse players get good by playing people better than them. I mostly always play ranked in any fps anyways but for a casual game, sbmm shouldn’t be a thing, especially if they have a ranked mode too.
@@WoundedWarrior314no way you legit compared hating sbmm to hating Zionism in another comment. Zionism is a stain on this earth and has killed millions. Your acute world view is crazy thinking stolen land is “god” given
@@Anubis_-_ "Worse players get good by playing people better than them." If that's the case, then play against people who are better than you. You're not getting punished for being better, you're just being put in your league. Even games with ranked and unranked modes divide players by skill and level to avoid smurfs from dominating new players. Games die quickly that way. COD has SBMM and it's the top FPS around, so clearly players don't hate it that much.
@ you don’t get to play people better than you with sbmm though, it’s literally just clones of me running around. Same even in the lower brackets of skill. We all play clones of ourselves and every round feels the same as the next. I don’t mind playing against dudes with 3x my skill level, the challenge is fun but having the games just be a flat 50/50 is pretty boring. Just my opinion but I can see where you’re coming from. I just think in a genre that is determined by skill, protection brackets are kind of a slap in the face
ANZ/OCE Point. This probably explains why it's so hard for ANZ players to be put into our own regions servers. We are constanly being placed in Asia servers on 200+ms ping. I would imagine the alogorithim they have going is a big part of what is caausing this. It's absolutely miserable. At no point should I be telling a game service that I live in X region just for it to ignore that information and place me in Y servers. This mixed with the awful desync this game has is truly an exceptionally fun experience!
Australian here. Can't get a low ping server in the Conquest mode but 98% of the servers I've loaded into for the Breakthrough mode have been on Aussie servers. So I guess we are stuck playing that. Desperately needs a server browser or ping limit otherwise OCE will be dead. The games been out for what, 4 days and we can't even play most of the modes.
Oh noooo I'm facing people who have enought time in their lives to play for the whole day like myself! I can't go on an extreme rampage over all those folks who just just got back home after a terrible day at the office and want to have some fun, what a terrible issue.
Yeah, god forbid you can’t pubstop on your stream. Here’s the secret about SBMM - it works! No large release will EVER remove it completely because that is detrimental to the average player experience. We don’t all stream for multiple hours daily lol.
Anyone who thinks SBMM makes games like this more fun clearly never played BF3 or BF4, both of which didn't have it, both of which were way more fun than any game I have ever played with SBMM. The law of averages takes care of skill inbalances. Without SZBMM you will almost end up with teams that have a similar mix of good, bad and average players. From time to time it will be unbalanced, but more often it just evens out nicely. And gameplay is way more diverse, because you constantly run into players of much greater variation in degrees of skill.
And to add to that, in games like BF4 better players switched teams to the losing team when matches started to become unbalanced. Almost all servers run a command !assist which force moves you to the losing team. Let the people manage their fun, not some automated algorithms.
A server browser would solve all of these issues. Transitioning the SBMM to a team balancer would solve most. Being able to set a maximum allowable ping would at least solve something. It might be too early to say how much SBMM increases difficulty vs how much people are learning and unlocking. Still shouldn't be in the game though.
Yeah the fact community browsers are not one of the higher priorities is insane to me. Being in OCE, if I wanna play BF4 or BF1- I have to use the community browser, there are no official servers. And in the case of Delta Force, Im getting hella Asian servers where my pings up at 180. At least let me wait in queue for 15 minutes to get into a decent ping server, with other people with decent ping. Plus it actually adds a sense of community, you learn the sweats names, so you can follow them around and annoy them. Cmon Delta Force
Well i think people forgot how bad "winning team joining" was back in the day of BF 2, 3 and 4. One of the reasons sbmm was developed in the first place, was exactly the mentioned problem.
everyone in my lobbies has roughly 1kd. everybody uses the best ARs and SMGs and headglitches just to scrape by and it sucks all the fun sandbox elements out of a battlefield style game
I hate to say it but this game will die like XDefiant. The SBMM, cheaters and lack of controller support has already put put a huge dent in this game i dont think it will be able to hold a big enough player base to be profitable in the long run.
Makes sense why it's so hard to find a match in OCE; with such a small player base, SBMM makes it even worse. I seem to always be put in a match with high ping; not only that, it takes forever to find one. SBMM needs to be removed from unranked; if not, then I'm done with the game, and so are a lot of other people.
As ive understood it, living in OCE means you will have shit online gaming experience. I can never play with my Australian friends cuz of their ping is way too high.
A very real side effect of this stuff being shoe horned into every single aspect of FPS gaming now is that with enough years of this being a reality, it becomes impossible for your average, every day casual to go feasibly play ANY title that doesn't have the shitter protection system. Of course, this sounds awesome to them on paper but the reality is that once they venture outside of the baby protection pen the developers have created for them, they are now faced with the proposition of going head to head with people who've been absolutely hardened and forged in the "you must treat every round of every game you play like you're playing for a $1,000,000 prize pool" ecosystem. Everyone that's been forced to play that way for the last decade has been faced with the real choice of "get better or quit" and A LOT of guys didn't quit. When you unleash this monster you've created by the very system designed to protect these players into an ecosystem where said system doesn't exist, now none of casual guys can play the game anymore and your game instantly dies. You've seen it everywhere. In every X thread, youtube comments about recently released games (Xdefiant, BBR come to mind as the most recent examples). These systems are designed purely to extract the maximum engagement (hint:$$$$) out of the most average to below average players every game has, and the frame they step out of these systems, every game becomes unplayable to them. That's the result on the low end. On the high end, you get exactly what you described in the video and the example I mentioned above about the $1,000,000 prize tournament. Whining and begging for this shit in every game has done far more damage to the state of these games as a whole than someone with the audacity of wanting to get better ever did to FPS gaming in general. Casuals and the Developers who pander to them should share the responsibility for this and stop blaming people who aren't satisfied with being mediocre at hobbies they literally spend thousands of hours doing. The phrase I see all the time now is "esports players and sweats killed casual gaming". It's weird as having been playing PC FPS games since the mid 90s, I don't recall that ever being the sentiment until the last 5-10 years or so. In fact, those players directly led to the exponential growth of the genre, the development of nearly EVERY scene they were a part of and a massive boon to the developers of the games. Somewhere around/abouts 2015, the whole equation changed and the dirty little secret about it all is that "casual gaming" became purely about dollars and protecting the bottom line above all else. Everything else fell to the wayside. Developers and Casuals "killed casual gaming". Nobody else did that.
What I find the most decisive argument against SBMM is that very simply, no one EVER asked for it. If you go back to the most legendary FPS games of all time: COD2/4, BF2/3/4/1, there’s literally no one that ever said: “this game would be better with SBMM”. They need to remove it entirely from the game, or content creators will stop playing and the game WILL die out. No arguing.
@@jax5683 The bots in the closed beta were stacked, much better than the average player. They abused headglitching like mad, held impossible angles and snapped onto the player the moment they had a clear line of sight to the bot, even though it was facing away but the entire gameplay back then felt unique, situations played out differently just like for the first day after release. After that it became a sweaty snorefest and I still wonder what brought me to the highest brackets of this godforsaken matchmaking... permanently.
Great video Enders, really highlights how SBMM doesn't make sense, especially for large, sandboxy games like Delta Force. Also, nice playing in the streamer showdown with you last week :)
Everyone needs to complain about this because if you do nothing, this will continue in every game that everyone plays. Call of duty lost 80% of its playerbase because of sbmm. This needs to end.
So then all the high level players go into casual to farm noobs. How is that "having all the options"? What options a noob have? being destroyed in casual or being destroyed in ranked?

This morning, I encountered precisely the issues you described. Matchmaking times were excessively long, player counts were low, and the resulting matches were exceptionally competitive. My kill counts, previously exceeding 20 and sometimes reaching 60 or more, have significantly decreased; achieving 20 kills now seems improbable.
SBMM... kek! then why is my team fucking dogshit. Everyone has the awareness of a peanut and cant rez others.. im left constantly going medic just to keep picking people up so as to not bleed our tickets or to hold off pushes. Half the people i pick up straight up are just AFK. if there is SBMM it sure as hell is utterly against me all the dam time!
dude just played a game on Asia servers where the first two sectors were taken in less than 100 tickets by the enemy. Two sectors I've seen totally halt progress, didn't even dent their tickets. Our team couldnt do shit. I feel the same, lost literally every game today and came top 10 every time. When I dont feel good abt a game and I'm near the top of the scoreboard... the teams cooked, Im really not that good
I've noticed the higher skill lobbies I get into has a higher level of smoke spam. It just makes the game unfun when I have to spray into a gray cloud to maybe get a kill
Another issue with the game (currently) is that you CAN'T just 'leave and requeue' -- well you can, but this hurts the team you left as this place will NOT BE FILLED. We had this several times now when or two of our squad mates left (rage quit Alt-F4 out of the game, so the game was closed) the server and they stayed in our squad as 'dead players' until the end and we could not change squad or remove them from our squad for other players to join.
I know this won't work for all games, but I think the vintage CODs had it right. It's part game design and part match making. COD has always had a somewhat low skill ceiling (compared to far more hardcore games) with its low time to kill, OP weapons, killstreaks, perks, camping spots, etc... but that's allowed it to be super accessible and allowed worse players to have fun, thus leading to it being the juggernaut it is/was. The other part was the match making. You would simply join a persistent lobby where you could theoretically play with the same people for hours on end, with teams being rebalanced in between matches, letting recent performances dictate how the teams would be shaped. I know it's not perfect, but it feels far more fair than whatever modern shooters such as MW2019 onwards are doing.
I miss being in the same lobby for a long time and making those temporary friends I'd never see again. It made me feel attached to the server, and I always knew it was time to leave when the original people on the server all left.
@@le_fancy_squid I was playing Modern Warfare Remastered (yeah, the over 8 year old Remastered of COD4), the game is still fairly populated on PlayStation, and I was playing in the same SnD lobby for a few hours, most of the players staying around match to match, it was a lot of fun. I even asked people why they were still playing such an old Call of Duty, and the players simply say it's better than the modern CODs, one of which even citing SBMM and disbanding lobbies. We are still out here, unfortunately lost to time though.
All I know is when I select ranked I can see the sbmm everyone has around same score. When I unselect it lobby goes back to normal doesn’t feel like much sbmm
@@sp4rklsz It's not casual when you're not able to play casually and do well some games. Not to mention most of the player base in older FPS titles were casual but wanted to get better because the game rewards better play. ie Call of Duty kill streaks, CS eco, Halo ranks. SMBB actively hurts players who are getting better because they're always going to always play "average" when everyone in the lobby is of the same skill. The ONLY outliers/exceptions are pros who are so much above and beyond the top tier skill bases in a game. For example Rocket League. Most people at the top are really good - not pro level. So majority of the time you just have a bunch of really good players constantly having to sweat their balls off to do JUST OKAY in a CASUAL mode.
I feel like with every spawn I either get a kill or get killed, and it's infuriating...I was much better at shooters when this shit wasn't around. I still got my ass kicked quite often too, but I didn't mind when I got to kick some ass every now and again myself.
I noticed that the games got considerably sweaty after a day of gaming. It took the first couple of games to get the mouse sensitivity dialed-in, understand the maps, the rotation play around the capture points. Up until then, my stats were pretty bad so the matchmaking was easy. As soon as we (my squad) got into a rhythm, it almost instantaneously turned into a sweat fest, especially when playing as the attackers. You have hyper aggressive defenders playing like a hero-shooter on crack, and they cry and rage quit when they get clapped by a well coordinated team. The fun element will disappear rather quickly if this is the experience every round.
Iirc CoD started losing players the moment they disabled SBMM. People should ask for less tight skill dispersion in SBMM. This system isn't going anywhere.
It wasn't the SBMM at all, it was the horrible net code and hitreg which killed it for me and most people, and beyond that, the content was just not there.
xdefiant isn't a battlefield style sandbox combined arms game though is it? Totally different game. SBMM makes sense in small team games, but not battlefield and not delta force.
I kept watching your streams as a break from playing the game cuz it was so sweaty this weekend... I was impressed at how well you did despite it being so sweaty!
Damn , We been talking about this for 10years now in Call of duty... SBMM is just Sad to me. I always said Unranked lobbies 50pts per kill Ranked Lobbies 100pts per kill and you get Emblems and cool shit faster for playing Ranked. BOOM PROBLEM SOLVED.
One thing I feel like people don't understand about SBMM/MMR in Delta Force/Battlefield esc games. Its 32v32. The above average skill playerbase is much smaller than the average and bad players. So in Battlefield youd almost always be in games where you have like 2-6 high skill players, 2-6 bad players then the rest is the average players. You have that for say 90% of the games. Are there games where one team has like 16 players that are really good so the other team gets washed? SURE. But its very uncommon. Vice versa happens as well. You get games where half the team is filled with bad players. Slightly more common but still uncommon. Good players and bad players being in the same games has NEVER been a problem in Battlefield (or really other shooters) so why in the fuck is it a problem now here in Delta Force?
I think SBMM isn’t inherently wrong IF developers find a way to implement it properly - but in my experience none ever have aside from the old school team balancing route that BF and some other older shooters used. If skill brackets were more loosely defined (a wider range of players), it could make the game more engaging while still protecting lower skilled players to a degree. Enough to make sure top 90th percent players aren’t getting meshed against lower 10th percentile players. You have to remember that most people watching someone like Enders are going to be of a certain skill level. There genuinely are average joes who have a family and a mediocre setup that do deserve to enjoy the game, and I don’t think it’s wrong to put some LIGHT measures in place for that. And no, I’m not bad at the game and therefore advocating for SBMM. I am top 3 on my team pretty much every single game and also consistently get into these higher skill lobbies with people like Enders or FocusBF on the enemy team. High rank in other FPS games, etc. Trying to give a grounded take is all. And not to say I disagree with Enders here either - just offering another perspective.
Team shuffling can not be implemented if there are no persistent servers and instead you are queueing into a new lobby every match. Notice how in DF you get kicked back to the menu after every round? Servers don't persist. It's like COD or BF2042, every match is a whole new lobby with matchmaking picked players.
The problem imo with these arguments is that 1. The chances of top10% vs bottom10% is alrdy pretty rare, so if it happens and you dont like it. Leave the game and you are more than likely good. 2. Even if youre in the bottom 10 and want to just play people your skill level, go to ranked like everyone else?
@@Deliverygirl You're right, traditional team balancing does rely on persistent lobbies. But what I was getting at was implementing a new system that mimics traditional team balancing and can work without persistent lobbies. Current SBMM in games has the problem of making you feel like you're "fighting clones of yourself." It forces average to good players to sweat every game while primarily protecting lower-skilled players. To my understanding, this happens because SBMM tries to fill lobbies with players as close in skill as possible. To improve this, we’d need to focus less on identical skill levels and more on balancing teams with a diverse pool of players, even without persistent lobbies. The goal would be to keep good players from feeling overly punished, protect lower-skilled players to some extent, and avoid matches becoming repetitive or frustrating. Here’s a rough idea: When matchmaking starts, get a balanced mix of players per skill bracket. For example, 10-20% good players, 50-60% average players, and 20-30% lower-skilled players per team. This way good players ensure matches aren’t stomps, average players keep things non-repetitive and fair, and lower-skilled players still have a chance to enjoy the game. I’m not a game designer, so I can’t say how easily this could be implemented, but it's just a random idea. It might even work in a way like this already tbh.
@@matto41 That's true that top 10% vs. bottom 10% matchups are pretty rare, and I used that as an exaggerated example to get my point across. The issue isn't really about avoiding extreme skill mismatches, it's more about making sure games stay fair and fun for everybody who plays. Whether you're good or bad. I think that splitting the game into ranked and unranked queues wouldn't work well for something like Delta Force. The lobbies are too large and the game is somewhat niche. So it's gonna impact queue times in the long run. If not now, then eventually when the game dies down a bit. I also think that telling players to just leave lobbies isn't really a fair approach. You're telling someone the best way to have fun is to rage quit over and over until they get into an easy lobby. If they get it right from the jump, people wouldn't have to leave lobbies to have a balanced game.
I already lost interest, because I can only play the first match in a day before the SBMM puts me in the "I dont have a job"-bracket. Immediately lost interest after 3 days.

Imo, all FPS games should have a server browser with an option to quick match automatically by setting up filters. No SBMM, just the luck of the draw on which server you decide to join. Or keep it connection based matchmaking in the case of a game like COD. If a game wants to have sbmm they need to include a "ranked" mode and keep that separate.
@@EndersFPS you cant compete when someone is 100 times better than you, you will just keep spawn to die it is like putting a child and a wrestler in the ring, there is no competition here...
There’s no place for skilled base matchmaking in big game modes like conquest. Whether you’re in ranked or not there should be no skilled based matchmaking. Skilled base matchmaking should be reserved for small group game modes. This was the big problem with ex defiant for me. I enjoyed the game, but getting one or two really good enemies would ruin the entire match for the rest of us. But in a game like battlefield to where there’s 32 enemies, you can avoid that one or two really good players. And with the ranked mode there should be no skilled based matchmaking to begin with because if you’re in bronze, you should play against other bronze players and you should climb out of the tier fast if you’re a good player. What’s the point of a rank system if you’re in bronze fighting players three ranks above you because the game thinks that’s the skill bracket you’re in. You’re not really in bronze at that point. So you’re not really climbing in ranked you’re fighting the same fucking people no matter what rank you’re in so your number just goes up. But you never feel that sense of progression of climbing or getting better. That’s the other big problem with skilled based matchmaking is there’s no progression of getting better or worse. No matter how much you improve your results will never really improve with you. This is all coming from a person who is a 60 hour a week work Andy who doesn’t get to play games for more than 4 to 5 hours a week.
I only get on to play with friends when I play games and skill base matchmaking fucks with us because we’re all different skill levels as well. We’re all forced to play at the same level as our best teammate so it ruins the experience for everyone but the person who’s the best.
Can these bots in the comment section stfu. Also good video enders. I don't want sbmm in ANY battlefield like games it's supposed to be random that's the point
There is also the huge problem that sbmm just does not work on such a massive scale you are just 1 out of dozens of people your personal impact on victory or loss is minimal.
The fact that ranked and unranked actually being the same playlist is beyond scuffed. Also, thinking that sbmm belongs in casual playlists is an incorrect opinion and that is a fact lol.
I would assume that the game is using the hidden MMR in a bracket system so when you play in ranked for simplicity sake say its + - 25 but in casual it + - 50. This would explain finding people playing ranked in your casual lobby. Most likely they don't want split the player base when it inevitably drops in a few weeks from its release peak. If you want them to fully separate casual and ranked then say hello to the bots again when numbers go down.
@ Will they? There is money in strict sbmm. You may have heard of that phenomena: CEOs making their product less good because of a short term profit. THE DAATAAAA.
I loved shooters back then, there were always a few people on the opposing team who were completely OP and they got on your nerves so much that you started chasing them and you were happy once you caught them. At one point you were so good that you blocked people who wanted to farm kills and got on their nerves. Eventually you were so good you had half the opposing team chasing you. Moments like that don't exist anymore. sry english is not my mother tongue ..I hope it makes sense what I wrote^^
I think this game is chalked already lmao i was so hype for it and I really tried to enjoy it but I had to uninstall yesterday, Delta Force is unfortunately not a good game it’s easily worse than BF2042
This would explain why my first day playing, I had a blast and did crazy good. And now I can barely get a positive KD. Now I just get frustrated by people prefiring...
This is a very controversial topic. All comments boil down to the fact that strong players who have spent years improving their skills cannot simply kill half the server. Because they are playing with the same players, and now they are not having fun. They don't see the development of their skills. And how can you develop playing against those who are weaker? Although it is clear that there are different levels of players in the match. Both teams have players with a score of 6-18, for example. I'll speak for myself. I don't want to see players like Enders in my match. I'm an average player who plays a few hours a week. And I want to play against the same players. Regardless of the mode. And if you remove this system, you still need a balance. It's not fun when one player kills half the server. It's fun only for him. If one team has a strong player, the other team should have the same. Or 2-3-5, if they are a little weaker, to balance the match. In my opinion, just removing it is not the answer
Game mode recommendation: Squad death match, where Squads can kill other sqauds but they'll have to do the objective at the same time such as capturing the objective and the squads are able to revive each other if a downed teammate doesn't get revived, the respawn timer will increase each time they die as the game gets closer and closer to the end. The squad with the most kills and objective will win the game and this will enhance proper team play amongst squad, this will basically be a battle royale game but a lot less competitive.
I also think that "ranked" mode needs to do side switching in the asymmetrical game mode. It makes no sense for one team to "win" on one side performance when the other team doesn't get the chance to perform better
Breaks my heart seeing alot of people shitting on this game and giving it a whole lot of hate when the devs are trying, this video is literally just the honest truth and its something that needs to be addressed but it doesnt deserve to get hated on and the fact people are saying "goodbye delta force i knew it was too good to be true" is just stupid af
Honestly; I want to say thank you for explaining the acronym RIGHT away at the start of the video. I've been seeing these thumbnails pop up everywhere and I thought it was a gun or something. And I agree this needs to change.
Played for a few days, after about 2 days everyone in my lobbies was using M4, MP5 (SMG45 and vector as well but less) or sniping. Realized that I had been SBMM'd into only being able to play the same weapons if i ever wanted to win a gunfight. Uninstalled instantly. Games are FOR FUN, not to stress.
Why don’t they have it to where it only protects the people who really need it? You know the Timmy No-Thumbs and the extremely new players.. I feel like Battlefield 4 did it best with the “noobie lobbies” where you get to play in a protected bracket until a certain level. Yes it has some smurfing flaws but I’m sure there are solutions for that. I don’t understand why SBMM has to apply to all skill levels, and I feel like there a certain spot on the “skill” spectrum, probably somewhere around the middle, where said player is cursed to get the worst end of the stick no matter what.
Skill based match making / MMR has no place in any casual mode. The only way this has a chance of changing is the power of the community coming together.
you’re here complaining about 160ms ping when i have to deal with 500+ ms ping
its always the same in these new fps games its horrible hopefully they listen because delta force could be the one shooter who can be better then some other sbmm fps shit games :)
@@KTree-WF Maybe don't play from Mars? Hope that helps
"SBMM is essential for fun"
Yes, let's just ignore all the FPS players from 2000-2016 who played without SBMM and had a perfectly good time
The reason I got good as a bad player was by facing adversity. If you tailor everyone into their groups then it just gets stale. Sometimes I wanna shit stomp the enemy and the cost to me is getting shit stomped back. I've had more fun against sweats in BF4 than playing "unranked" in this game
Ranked and unranked being queued together is crazy.
Ikr! wtf are they thinking?
Well that's something else 😂 i never seen a game that do this kind of things 😂😂😂😂
Diabolically stupid tbh...
ranked is a mistranslated according to the devs. They said it should be called points mode or something
It's not real ranked though.
That was a quick honeymoon.
Thumbs up buddy 👍🏼

I will say I'm getting better at sniping at least! 🤣
@@crazyhobo5263 how slow you are with rifles ?
Sorry in advance for not rezzing people like I used to, but the game actively punishes me for being a team player.
good thing is this game is free so if you ever feel like quitting you're not losing a cent.
I was afraid that Delta Force was too good to be true. Why is modern FPS gaming so hard to enjoy?
Military Conflict: Vietnam
Is a FPS made by a small team of devs, and is surprisingly well made for an early access.
It's a mistake that they'll end up correcting, I'm not sure why people are so harsh over something that the devs will end up fixing anyway

I'm pretty good at FPS games and I agree with SBMM.
Good to know that there’s actually some wise people in the modern gaming world.
Ditto for Southeast Asia. 4 out of 5 matches have 180 to 280ms ping for us because they keep placing us in US and EU servers instead of Singapore.
I uninstalled for this reason. I'm OCE, and got 6 or so ASIAN servers in a row during the weekend popular hours.....
Yes. Thank you Enders for raising this issue. DELTA, REMOVE SBMM FROM UNRANKED.
guess why devs stay silence this time?😊
From all modes. If I'm say top 2% then I expect to be paired with like minded players 2% of the time.
And gameplay is way more diverse, because you constantly run into players of much greater variation in degrees of skill.
those that dont notice the sbmm or think they are doing well in the games are exactly the people sbmm was made to protect.
yeah team-balancing at the beginning of the round was the key
And to add to that, in games like BF4 better players switched teams to the losing team when matches started to become unbalanced. Almost all servers run a command !assist which force moves you to the losing team. Let the people manage their fun, not some automated algorithms.
SBMM in the extraction mode need to go as well
A server browser would solve all of these issues.

I hate to say it but this game will die like XDefiant. The SBMM, cheaters and lack of controller support has already put put a huge dent in this game i dont think it will be able to hold a big enough player base to be profitable in the long run.

How did you notice the SBMM?
You didn't notice any SBMM, all you noticed is how bad you are.
Makes sense why it's so hard to find a match in OCE; with such a small player base, SBMM makes it even worse. I seem to always be put in a match with high ping; not only that, it takes forever to find one. SBMM needs to be removed from unranked; if not, then I'm done with the game, and so are a lot of other people.
literally bro ill target switch and go 30-0 in one match then be in a 200+ ping server after match making for 10mins
What a rant. Glorious.
Couldn't have put it better myself.
No arguing.
And here I was asking myself why the game was suddenly so sweaty compared to the closed beta...
yep lol
Felt it too. Oh well
Yes, exactly. In the beta I was dropping 70+ kill games. Now I'm struggling to get above 30. So sweaty.
@stormhawk_v8838 It's more likely that you're experiencing Delta Force without bots
This is the biggest concern for me for the next Battlefield... if they implement SBMM for the next title, it's over. BF is dead.
Bf is dead regardless it died during bfv
@@edh9746bf may be dead but not having sbmm is the only reason why I would still play it over any other shooter like COD.

I was in a lobby with you today and my god that lobby was sweaty 🤣
I mean, the solution is just disabiling SBMM for non-ranked games and give both options to the players
So then all the high level players go into casual to farm noobs. How is that "having all the options"? What options a noob have? being destroyed in casual or being destroyed in ranked?
@@mkotechno3972 you make it sound like no sbmm lobbies are gonna be filled with ONLY proplayers when you fully know that's not gonna be the case. If you can't find your place in a random matchmaking (as in *truly* Random skill levels) that's on you to an extent.
So we are Pulling another Activision are we?
I learned that sbmm is the reason why I'm dogshit in every shooter game lmao
these so called "pros" need to learn that main target playerbase is casual
There's no sense of progression as you're forced into lobbies with clones of yourself and all fights are 50% win/loss.
Thanks for making this video!
Best argument against sbmm is asking this: How did we have fun playing fps games for years and years back in the day?
Probably because people who did nothing but play could just come in and mop noobs all day.
The fun element will disappear rather quickly if this is the experience every round.
oh my god, theres SBMM? fuck me i was so happy to find a new enjoyable game that has no SBMM....
SBMM Is the result of this whole 'everybody's a winner' society.
I mean, the lack of sbmm has been cited as one of the reasons xdefiant was literally just killed.
I quit cod due to ridiculous operator skins, hit reg issues, bad servers, and the presence of SBMM in unranked modes. 🤷

@@Pong0_ You're terrible lol
And not to say I disagree with Enders here either - just offering another perspective.
good take 🎉🎉
Team shuffling can not be implemented if there are no persistent servers and instead you are queueing into a new lobby every match. Notice how in DF you get kicked back to the menu after every round? Servers don't persist. It's like COD or BF2042, every match is a whole new lobby with matchmaking picked players.
The problem imo with these arguments is that
I gave delta force an honest try, somehow it made me miss bf2042

Imo, all FPS games should have a server browser with an option to quick match automatically by setting up filters. No SBMM, just the luck of the draw on which server you decide to join. Or keep it connection based matchmaking in the case of a game like COD.
If a game wants to have sbmm they need to include a "ranked" mode and keep that separate.

I still kill half the server lol, it's just a rigged experience now so it's not fun
I really think your ideas for SBMM in DF are great. Hopefully they listen to you
Wtf? this dude's aiming is way too sticky.
He's a known cheater

@rikus3 I see, makes sense, this is one of the videos that I got recommend on my feat, I had no idea.
N I'm not saying you're giving it hate lmao
The Battlefield crowd on Reddit have a huge hate-b*ner for the game. Most of them admitted they hadn't even played it :~)
Honestly; I want to say thank you for explaining the acronym RIGHT away at the start of the video. I've been seeing these thumbnails pop up everywhere and I thought it was a gun or something.
And I agree this needs to change.
I just miss the good old days when you load onto your favourite servers and say hello to the regulars and have a blast
I know, right?..
Games are FOR FUN, not to stress.
thank you for the content and consistency
Why don’t they have it to where it only protects the people who really need it? You know the Timmy No-Thumbs and the extremely new players.. I feel like Battlefield 4 did it best with the “noobie lobbies” where you get to play in a protected bracket until a certain level. Yes it has some smurfing flaws but I’m sure there are solutions for that. I don’t understand why SBMM has to apply to all skill levels, and I feel like there a certain spot on the “skill” spectrum, probably somewhere around the middle, where said player is cursed to get the worst end of the stick no matter what.
