- I got this old SA 200 from a retired Alberta welder for 200$. After researching these welders I have decided to make this thing awesome. I have a Chrome alternator on Order and plan on doing something to make this beast shine... Let me know in the comments any ideas to get this beast into tip top shape...

Are ya going to making a third video on this welder I’m interested in how it turns out
I will be hopefully sometime during my holidays been busy working on my boat getting it ready for spring salmon fishing
Im trying to pull the motor from the armature on my 300d , cant find a video online, any suggestions?
Switch attached to the magneto is to ground it out and thus turn of the machine, other little electrical box was likely for a tattletale switch. Which is basically a shutdown switch for lack of oil pressure or excess coolant temp
Thx for the reply and you are right it is a shut off switch. The other one is a voltage regulator. A buddy of mine was over who has worked on these quite a bit went through it with me
Great video. I'm trying to restore my SA200 as well
Great machines
I’d look into a bw parts auto idle kit with pc board those original r57 idlers to weld i had to pin mine into high idle that auto idle solenoid is a great up grade
Hey man you should get a hold of Bill's welder repair in Oklahoma they can tell you anything about those 200s
Little far but good to know
Where did you order your parts from?
BWParts.com I am pretty sure
What size socket do I need to remove armature nut
Don’t know it was a big one
what is the cause that does not weld I have the same problem
It could be a few things but the first try test should be to excite the coils.
Can you do more videos on this machine
You bet I could do an update of where I am at with it for sure... anything in particular your interested in?
@@CJs_DIY Any other mechanical work done to the welder or trailer I’d be interested in watching
$79 Canadian = $2 US wow that is quite the exchange rate...
Obviously I am kidding but yah I pretty much had this given to me lol
