This 38-minute video lesson explores an in-depth look at Cantabile in B-flat major, Op. posth. (B.84 - this “B” labeling comes from Maurice Brown’s chronological catalogue of Chopin’s works by Frédéric Chopin).
This piece was originally written in 1834, but published nearly one hundred years later in 1931. Although it is not a mainstream work by Chopin, the beauty and lyricism of this piece gives students - even those early on in their studies (due to the short piece duration and technical ease of the piece) - an opportunity to study another gem from the beloved Polish composer. Areas of focus in this tutorial include fingering, counting, pedaling, how to improve your sense of rubato, tips for voicing, how to effectively shape phrases (and how to shape similar phrases differently), form and analysis, a discussion on ornaments, developing better touch, and many other concepts to help you become as efficient as possible in your practice sessions.

To my feeling, the piece could be played a bit more outspoken. The danger here is that in can fall to both sides, too much rubato is not good, no rubato as well. It should never be dishonest with made-up emotions or "showing off". Well explained... )

It is like a short musical summary to the Chopin Nocturne Op 9 No 2, evident from the similar left hand patterns in both the pieces.
