I absolutely loved playing Burnout 3: Takedown as a kid. I also played a bit of Need For Speed: Underground 2 but I couldn't figure out how to play the game well so I gave up quickly.
I finished playing all Half Life from the first to Episode Two a few days only . God if i played it when i was a child i would have been just blown away by the story and graphics especially Half life 2 . This is one of the greatest games of all times clearly . And still an amazing game to be played in 2020
Oh man I remember it and absolutely loved it! First played it on a demo disc at a friend's house during a sleepover when I was a kid. The demo was the opening of the game. It scared the HELL out of me and I thought it was so cool. The sequel was good too, but not as good as the first. Imo
@@Leeanardis The developers went bankrupt in 2010. The game was released by Midway games, which have also gone bankrupt. So it is highly unlikely we will see another one, ever. ☹
Me and my sister are playing through Shadow Hearts Covenant. We just finished the first disc today. Easily one of the best RPGs ever made. The transformations, the story, the battle mechanics: everything about it is memorable and fun to play through. Once you learn how to navigate it, you'll be surprised how rapidly you gain skills and abilities to completely decimate everything in your path. Played it with my brother around the time it came out and it still holds up today.
I never thought about it, but 2004 was really the last year of true innovation in the gaming industry. Graphics have improved since then, but we have yet to get anything that is a true unique experience since the standards of 2004. The argument now is what year had the best rehashes of old ideas because no one is coming out with any new ones.
You definitely weren't a Nintendo fan back in 2004, they had some of my favorite games ever that year. Your list is totally fine though. I agree with a good chunk of it. I always felt that 2004 was a year to remember. Tons of great games, movies, music, TV, and so much more. A top ten list just isn't enough to do it justice.
So was Ratchet and Clank Up your Arsenal (going commando too in an earlier year) and he skipped those too, smh. 6th gen was amazing can't list everything
10 - The X-Files: Resist or Serve (As a fan of horror games, this one really surprised me in a good way) 9 - Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines (Want to play as a vampire? This is how it’s done; I’m looking at you “Dracula” franchise) 8 - Doom 3 (Huge departure from the previous games, but it was right up my horror alley) 7 - Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II (First time I played a game as a Necromancer and this game nailed it) 6 - Far Cry (So different from anything else I had seen before; been hooked on open environment shooters ever since) 5 - Silent Hill 4: The Room (So freaking twisted; just the way I like it) 4 - The Suffering (Using the first person option, it plays mostly like a horror shooter) 3 - Ghosthunter (This is Ghostbusting done right) 2 - Myst IV: Revelation (Jaw droppingly gorgeous and so fun; another franchise that I can’t believe is in limbo) 1 - Half-Life 2 (Can’t think of a single thing I don’t like about this game; not one)
Oh my god!!! Thats one of the best videos I've seen in awhile! You nailed it with the games I'm sure there are more we both missed. I played every single game here except vampire and Riddick I absolutely love your game list!!
2004 just might be my favorite year in gaming and I've been playing since 1991 with the SNES..I can't fault this list for the most part but one glaring omission is Ratchet&Clank Up Your Arsenal..that game is truly a masterpiece and the fact that insomniac was able to release Ratchet & Clank year after year from 02-05 made it even more impressive because All of them were great but up your arsenal was and still is the best ratchet & clank imo
Honorable mentions for me atleast : Far Cry (1) Doom 3 Need for Speed: Underground 2 The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth Rome: Total War (1) Honestly 2004 is like one of the best game years for me. Seems like some chip upgrade or programing language caused this video game revolution aswell as devs giving a damn about their product back in the day.
I miss my family on Sims 2 sooo bad, we had our first girl ever born into the family. It was the first time I ever had twins in any of the other families I created, I found a tip on how to get them, I didn't think it would work but it did. (Sighs) I miss my Sims... 😞
2004 was a crazy year for me. My father died in 2004 I was 3 years old and I still remember him and fell the pain from time to time. My father was a gamer and he introduced to me super Mario and the PlayStation 1, he didn’t get to play the PlayStation 2.
This is definitely the best year gaming has ever seen. I'm not saying any one of these games is the absolute best game of all time, but the sheer amount of absolute fucking classics that came out in 2004, no other year has come anywhere close to this.
one of the best & greatest years ever! people are so focused on making so called futuristic buggy "not fun" kinda stuff, a game can have dated graphics but can also be the most fun you will ever have in your life. This whole period of gaming is a testament to that

"All we had to do was follow the damn train CJ"
Aww I miss those days..
POINTBREAK 125 hated that mission
I was 11 during this game and could not beat that mission....still one of the best games I ever played
Howre you going to talk about San andreas' radio stations and not talk about radio x? Cult of personality, guns and roses, rage against the machine Soundgarden, Alice in chains, OZZY!!!
This is exactly what I was going to say.
And k'dst - k'rose for me
Turns out the sound track is so good it appeals to all preferences

2004 and 2007 are the best years in gaming history. Those years immediately come to mind when the convo comes up. funny how specific this video is to actual conversations I've had between friends! Cheers
I absolutely loved playing Burnout 3: Takedown as a kid.
I also played a bit of Need For Speed: Underground 2 but I couldn't figure out how to play the game well so I gave up quickly.
Damn! I forgot how loaded 2004 was. I played almost all of these and man....... I didn't realize it all came out in the same year.
10:33 K-DST radio all the way..Gotta love the classics.
But basically every radio station was pure gold on that game.
I finished playing all Half Life from the first to Episode Two a few days only . God if i played it when i was a child i would have been just blown away by the story and graphics especially Half life 2 . This is one of the greatest games of all times clearly . And still an amazing game to be played in 2020
Ratchet & Clank 3, Sly 2, Jak 3, Viewtiful Joe 2. It was a good year for platformer style games as well.
There was so many great games came out in 2004. Thief 3: The Deadly shadows & Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow are also some of the best.
Surprised that Doom 3 didn't even get an honorable mention...
Gavwav
What you saying, he forgot far cry 1!
what about LEGO Star wars
@@flippinfudgeyt That was 2005
I’m crying in duct tape flashlight mod :(
Such nostalgia feeling that pure feeling of love with the graphics characters eyes
It's been ages since I heard that snake eater song, had to find it and listen the whole song. It still gives me goose bumps 😊
Best boss fight ever
Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door is my all time favorite game from 2004! Jak 3, ratchet and clank 3 and Metroid Prime 2 also really comes close
I love San Andreas gta all the way. I still played ps2 console 2020❤️❤️❤️
Yesss period
Yea homie , GTA da 4 Lyfe
Damn u r lucky my ps2 broke, I miss my ps2😭
Pikachu likes Gambling thanks
This reminded me of how good of a game year 2004 was. Snake eater and Half-Life 2 alone makes it one of the best, if not the best in my opinion.
Just to mention, Metroid Zero Mission and Metroid 2 Echoes. What can I do, I owned a GBA and a GameCube :)
"Sims 2 went on to have 8 expansions."
2004 me: No way. 8 expansions?!?
2020 me: Meh, only 8 expansions.
GTA SA, Def Jam Fight For NY, Need For Speed Underground 2 were some of the best games that came in 2004
Who remembers “The Suffering” for PS2
And XBOX?
I remember the PC version, as i only played it a few days ago in 4K. 😎
Oh man I remember it and absolutely loved it! First played it on a demo disc at a friend's house during a sleepover when I was a kid. The demo was the opening of the game. It scared the HELL out of me and I thought it was so cool. The sequel was good too, but not as good as the first. Imo
If it’s not here, the not Gameranx
@@Leeanardis The developers went bankrupt in 2010. The game was released by Midway games, which have also gone bankrupt. So it is highly unlikely we will see another one, ever. ☹
Personally, I would add Silent Hill 4 and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines to the list.
This is probably the best channel for gaming tips and stuff.
2004 was indeed a fantastic year for gaming. This and 2011 are stuck in my mind as the two best in my gaming life
Me and my sister are playing through Shadow Hearts Covenant. Played it with my brother around the time it came out and it still holds up today.
i was wondering why the comments section wasnt loading up
Yeah wtf
GTA: SA and Halo 2 some of the best 2004 games
ikr
I've heard for years that Halo 2 was the best of the best. I didn't know it was that old haha.
I never thought about it, but 2004 was really the last year of true innovation in the gaming industry. Graphics have improved since then, but we have yet to get anything that is a true unique experience since the standards of 2004. The argument now is what year had the best rehashes of old ideas because no one is coming out with any new ones.
What ?lol
I'd argue 2007 was.
Warrior within was the best game for that Era, mechanics, combat, story everything was top notch
Haven’t heard of any one these, I’m a time traveler from 1992
That was a good year
@@jeremyblackwater439 I am amazed at the internet
@@zuokia yeah...don’t let it suck you in though.
Do u ride a delorean?
Me seeing GTA San Andreas
Me: Ah shit here we go again
Jak and Daxter continues to be disgustingly underrated. Come on, Jak 3 is easily one of the best games of the 2000s.
So was Ratchet and Clank Up your Arsenal (going commando too in an earlier year) and he skipped those too, smh. 6th gen was amazing can't list everything
10 - The X-Files: Resist or Serve (As a fan of horror games, this one really surprised me in a good way)
9 - Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines (Want to play as a vampire? This is how it’s done; I’m looking at you “Dracula” franchise)
8 - Doom 3 (Huge departure from the previous games, but it was right up my horror alley)
7 - Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II (First time I played a game as a Necromancer and this game nailed it)
6 - Far Cry (So different from anything else I had seen before; been hooked on open environment shooters ever since)
5 - Silent Hill 4: The Room (So freaking twisted; just the way I like it)
4 - The Suffering (Using the first person option, it plays mostly like a horror shooter)
3 - Ghosthunter (This is Ghostbusting done right)
2 - Myst IV: Revelation (Jaw droppingly gorgeous and so fun; another franchise that I can’t believe is in limbo)
1 - Half-Life 2 (Can’t think of a single thing I don’t like about this game; not one)
Oh my god!!! Thats one of the best videos I've seen in awhile! You nailed it with the games I'm sure there are more we both missed. I played every single game here except vampire and Riddick I absolutely love your game list!!
I loved burnout 3, then one day the disk didn't work and I couldn't play it 😭😭
Being born in 96, this is what's up.
Prince of Persia Warrior Within is what you have forgotten
2004 just might be my favorite year in gaming and I've been playing since 1991 with the SNES..I can't fault this list for the most part but one glaring omission is Ratchet&Clank Up Your Arsenal..that game is truly a masterpiece and the fact that insomniac was able to release Ratchet & Clank year after year from 02-05 made it even more impressive because All of them were great but up your arsenal was and still is the best ratchet & clank imo
Honorable mentions for me atleast :
Far Cry (1)
Doom 3
Need for Speed: Underground 2
The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth
Rome: Total War (1)
Honestly 2004 is like one of the best game years for me.
The whole gaming world demands an MGS 3 remake
No, mgs1
Mg snakes revenge and metal gear remake first
Remember the rumors about Sony trying to convince Konami to give them the rights? This could mean something if they are true...
I just KNEW san Andreas would be on this list
It's the GOAT
Just like you Jake 💕
2004 was a crazy year for me. My father died in 2004 I was 3 years old and I still remember him and fell the pain from time to time. My father was a gamer and he introduced to me super Mario and the PlayStation 1, he didn’t get to play the PlayStation 2.
This is definitely the best year gaming has ever seen. I'm not saying any one of these games is the absolute best game of all time, but the sheer amount of absolute fucking classics that came out in 2004, no other year has come anywhere close to this.
2004 was a good year for gaming one gem ppl glide over is The Suffering one of the best horror games
Yes! I bought a copy back in 2018 when I bought a slim and it still holds up till this day, my favorite horror game ever
No one
Literally no one

'CJCJCJ!!!!!!'
Nope noob
Cringe
doesnt that mean that LITERALLY EVERYONE does it? like it defeats the joke
one of the best & greatest years ever!
people are so focused on making so called futuristic buggy "not fun" kinda stuff, a game can have dated graphics but can also be the most fun you will ever have in your life.
This whole period of gaming is a testament to that
2007 was also an amazing year: Halo 3, BioShock, COD 4: Modern Warfare, Super Mario Galaxy, Uncharted 1, Crysis, Portal, Mass Effect...
Halo 2's innovation revolutionized online FPS shooters and made it mainstream today
2004: the year in games that could show up a decade.

Even if they're just honorable mentions, I'm really glad you mentioned Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines and NFS Underground 2, I loved the HELL out of those games, and even now I still play VTMB and am looking forward to the next one.
I can remember how Halo 2 was the most anticipated game back in 2004. The launching day was crazy as hell. Good memories.
Burnout 3 Takedown
*"We are the lazy generation!"*
And what the hell about COUNTER STRIKE SOURCE? that game marked that starring of competitive multiplayer games
Still playing gta san andreas
But i have a problem, sometimes the mouse doesnt work at all, i cannot turn around or use it to fire
I face this problem too. Didn't find a proper solution. It got fixed by switching tabs until the mouse starts working
Just Go fast in the menu and out, do this as Long as it takes it always worked
i solved it by going to menu and shaking my mouse while resume and voila!
note: still keep doing this because this is the only way i know how to fix
Just rapidly pausing the game. I recommend you installing Silent Patch so this doesn't happen to you again.
Thanks guys
In 2004 I was playing Command and Conquer Generals, NFS Underground 2, Lineage 2 and Heroes IV
