Hi Shanyce Forde, Sorry to hear about your difficult time. It is possible that the eye rubbing may have caused lacrimal gland prolapse. The only treatment for lacrimal gland prolapse is surgery. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi Arjun, Mild ptosis does not go away if the muscle that lifts the eyelid called the levator has stretched, drooped, or has been damaged. Surgery is the only way to shorten, reattach, or bypass this muscle. You can refer to this video about it - ruclips.net/video/7gWSjQce3DQ/видео.html

Hi doc, Im 27 and unhappy with my eyes, i have no medical issues, I just don't like the shape of them. The upper lids are too high and the lower lids are too low. The lower lids in particular bother me most. I find that I can get a nice shape by raising my lower lids with my fingers although I know this cannot always be replicated with surgery, and I know you don't recommend raising the lower lids for genetic issues, but I was wondering are you hopeful/aware of any concepts, procedures in development that will allow for changes in eye shape in the future? Hi Mike Mahr, It is possible to raise the lower lids due to genetic issues, which falls under scleral show, but a proper examination is needed to determine if it's possible or right for you. I hope this helps you.

Hi ᴛ ᴄ, Sorry to hear about your problem. If your puffiness fluctuates, it is likely that it is an allergy. Mild ptosis does not go away if the muscle that lifts the eyelid called the levator has stretched, drooped, or has been damaged. Surgery is the only way to shorten, reattach, or bypass this muscle. You can refer to this video about it - ruclips.net/video/7gWSjQce3DQ/видео.html
Hello sir , how can l reduce fatty upperlids
Hi TITAN GAMING,
As shown in the video, prolapsed fat in the upper eyelids is sculpted and removed with cosmetic upper eyelid surgery/ upper blepharoplasty. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Thanks.
Hi Mike Mahr,
It is possible to raise the lower lids due to genetic issues, which falls under scleral show, but a proper examination is needed to determine if it's possible or right for you. I hope this helps you.
Thanks alot
You're welcome,@@mikemaher2273!

Hi dr, I have left eye upper eyelid swelling since from 1 year but when I showed to ophthalmologist thy told thy r normal but whenever I see in photos my one eye is bends down than other. What is the reason doctor can u please tell me
Hi Rehab Fathima,
I hope you understand that I can't make a diagnosis based on your just your short description, and without examining your eyelid. A proper second opinion does involve an examination, so I suggest you see another ophthalmologist if you can. I hope this helps you.
Informative. Is an enlarged lacrimal gland the cause of lacrimal prolapse?
Hi Beck S.,
Not usually. Lacrimal gland prolapse in aesthetics is normally due to the weakening of supporting structures due to aging. I hope this clarifies things for you.
@@AmiyaPrasadMD thank you for the reply. How could they be distinguished? By positioning?
Hi@@Beck-Stein,
It can be confirmed with an MRI, or an examination by an oculoplastic/oculofacial surgeon. I hope this helps you.
Doctor, how often do you see that insurance will cover a blethroplasty due to limiting vision? Thanks.
Hi Avs Fan,
It is more likely eyelid ptosis surgery being eligible for insurance since vision can be blocked by a drooping eyelid. However, our offices don't accept insurance. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi Dr. Prasad, I experienced trauma to one eye and I now have mild enopthalmos and lacrimal gland prolapse. My eye shape has changed a bit and I've lost volume in the superior and lateral portion of me eye. Can I have an implant placed in my eye to restore it's position as well lacrimal gland resuspension in one surgery? Also I want to avoid scarring (as do all patients) but realistically for lacrimal gland resuspension (without blepharoplasty) what's the outlook?
Hi purplefire5,
Sorry to hear about your problem, but I do need to perform a physical examination before giving you a treatment plan, and expectations on the outcome. I hope this helps you.
Plz Dr. Prasad, can Morpheus 8 be used for scars resulted from upper blepharoplasty? A lady told me that it made her blepharoplasty scars look less visible. Thank you!
Hi la vie est belle sara,
I don't use Morpheus 8 in my practice, but I do use a radiofrequency device called Pelleve. I would have to see the scars you have before recommending a specific treatment. what is the cause of lacrimal gland prolapse? i'm only 21 and having this problem
Hi Miri Lovely,
Sorry to hear about your problem. Lacrimal gland prolapse can occur due the weakening of the ligament that suspends the lacrimal gland, inflammation, or injury. You can see an oculoplastic/oculofacial surgeon like myself about the problem. I hope this clarifies things for you.
The thing is that I wake up with really puffy eyes, somedays it's worse and someday I don't swell up at all. When I swell up in the morning my eyes hurt and I will go down a little but my eyelids gets droppy through out the day... What should I do?
Hi ᴛ ᴄ,
Sorry to hear about your problem. If your puffiness fluctuates, it is likely that it is an allergy. I suggest you see a local allergist for proper testing to determine what you may be allergic to. As an oculoplastic surgeon, I only treat eyelids that are always puffy because they are due to fat pockets. I hope this helps you.
Sir, can it be from angioneurotic edema ? Please tell🙏
Hi BINAMRA KUMAR MANDAL - CE,
It would be unusual and highly unlikely to have fullness in the upper eyelids due to angioneurotic edema, so an examination is needed to determine the cause. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi doctor I have a dark circles and it’s genetic from my mother also the area under my eyes is so skinny because I lost too much weight for a very sad reasons and did not have any treatment in that time for many years therefore now is worst and very very dark beside that I noticed there is lines in that area .
what your recommendation for that ? I saw in this video a photo for patient has dark circles but mine is more than he has and you used laser co2 .I went to a doctor he told me to use plasma treatment and I agreed, therefore I made 4 sections also he used a device called bio wave in that area after that he stopped that because nothing happened.please can you help me in that ?????
Hi rasha jawad,

Hey prasad! I am 18 years of age & I don’t like the appearance of the area where my brows are located my brows seems to have excess skin/fat over my eyelids making it hard for me to do makeup & as well as having sunken eyes, I believe I may have lacrimal gland prolapse due to the appearance of my eyes, many also think that I am angry or tired which isn’t the case , is there any procedures that you would recommend for me?
Hi Queen's Channel,
Sorry to hear about your problem. I hope you understand that I would have to diagnose the cause of your issue first before recommending a specific treatment, especially since you are still at a young age at which I don't usually perform cosmetic eyelid surgery. If you can't see us for an examination, I suggest you see a local ophthalmologist (eye surgeon) for a proper examination, and diagnosis. I hope this helps you.

Hi Awais Ahmed,
Sorry to hear about your problem. Have you been seeing an endocrinologist to manage your thyroid? After the inflammation stage has passed, an oculoplastic surgeon can repair the damage done to your eyelids. You can refer to these videos about the right timing for eyelid repair after thyroid eye disease:

Dear Dr Amiya sir , Thank you for your reply , yes I am in regular touch with my endocrinologist and taking medication daily . Also using artilac lubricant for eyes. Pls suggest any fast recovery for my problem. And what is the inflammation duration in my case. It started in 2014 July. Sorry if I am asking more.
Hi@@awaisahmed7888,
You will have to consult your endocrinologist about the duration of inflammation. As a cosmetic eyelid surgeon, I don't treat inflammation due to thyroid eye disease, but I do repair eyelids that have been affected by inflammation. I hope this helps you.

Can this happen after double eyelid surgery? It seems I have extra skin/fullness on one eye only above the crease.
Hi Holly Nguyen,
Double eyelid surgery excised fat volume, and redundant skin, but early on in the surgical healing process it's normal to have temporary swelling above the crease. You can refer to these videos about it:
ruclips.net/video/NpZJJcd4Qa0/видео.html
ruclips.net/video/7g6o3RujW5A/видео.html
what about swelling/bump above the lacrimal sac and upper eyelid.
right above the upper eyelid where it meet beside the nose, at the opposite side of lacrimal gland.
not really on the upper eyelid but above where nose meets the forehead on both sides
Hi MICA,
That can be any one of a number of different things, so a physical evaluation is needed for a proper diagnosis. I hope this helps you.

Hi excellent thinks,
A difference of 1-2mm in eyelid height is normal and unnoticeable by others, and does not require treatment. Facial asymmetry is normal as it is caused by bone structure. Only very obvious asymmetry requires treatment, which can only be determined by an examination by a qualified doctor. I hope this clarifies things for you.

You do need to have a proper second opinion about your problem by a doctor who can examine it. An ophthalmologist is an eye surgeon, so perhaps you can seek another one in your area who can examine your brow, instead of waiting months for one particular doctor. I hope this helps you.
