Stairway To Heaven should have been top 3
Only #1 is a real joke imo. A lot of different genres and all time classics.
What about American Pie?? Crazy how that didn't make this list, that song was more iconic than most of these.
agreed, my favourite song ever
its not about iconic-ness
Yeah honestly 25% these songs I’ve never heard
Agreed, such a great song
It's not about iconic, it's about top songs... there's a difference

There’s no Doors songs on the entire list?! 🤬 WTF?!
yea it was like wtf is that all about!!!
A complete travesty
Wtf is Doors
Absolutely and to put salt in the wound Britney spears is on it 🤢😂
Who?!😂😂😂
Every time I hear John Lennon's Imagine, I think of my sister who passed away in 2020 😭

May she rest in peace 🙏

So many of these great artist who made us feel so many emotions are no longer with us. But I’m glad they put their mark in the world to live forever in our hearts
Well said.
Its tough getting old.
That's true
Precisely
old songs are sound the same than modern songs that are boring on modern media of streaming music
How was Phil Collins not on this list?
😔
Phil Collins is a preachy twat. And doesn't belong on this list.
Bummer...
Because Genesis wasn't "in the air" tonight 😂
WHAT!?!?
I miss Chester Bennington truly his voice will live on forever. Rest easy legend
lol just because the guy killed himself

Where Is Billie Jean?
Where the hell was Don't Fear The Reaper, Ballroom Blitz, Heat of the moment, Come and get your love, Mr. Blue Sky, American Pie, Free Bird, Home Sweet Home, In the air tonight, Always be my baby, Take me home tonight, Africa, and Feel Good Inc.
"Staying Alive" is even used for the rhythm for heart compressions during CPR
"first I was afraid, I was petrified..." LOL the office 🤣

Beat it and bohemian are the greatest songs. Thank you for acknowledging them in the top 5
So sick of bohemian
Bohemian is a bit overrated but still jam it if it's on. Adults talk about newer music talking crap when a lot of Bohemian makes no sense. i think Beat It is overatted to but still cool.
If anything they should have been higher but it is always tough to make a list like this. I am just happy Bohemian Rhapsody was top 3 :)

Music is truly a universal language.
I'm definitely going to need some popcorn for this video and I am really excited to see where this list ends up
Absolute props to the WatchMojo team...This could not have been a quick and easy video to produce!!
I felt offended that they ranked Weeknd's crap over Deep Purple...
@@duncan3998They did WHAT?
This list is stupidly suggestive. No one is gonna be happy with most of it. Billy Joel is not even here. But in the end, Weird Al is on the list the most.
A list like this is too subjective. Mine would be soooo different.
Yea it is. Very Subjective 🎉
Agreed. My list would be very different. Might of missed it but how is patience by gnr not on there or time by pink Floyd
No song from AC/DC
Are you kidding?
Some songs that could've made the list
Blitzkrieg Bop - Ramones
Baba O'Riley - The Who
Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton
Nothing Compares 2 U - Sinead O'Connor
Viva La Vida - Coldplay
Since U Been Gone - Kelly Clarkson
Also some older classics like Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” A lot of lists don’t include that song even in the Top 500 but how could you forget the #1 bestselling song??
@sunshine981 such an underrated song imo. Watchmojo rank the Who the 6th best rock band of all time and then don't even put Baba O Riley in the top 100 songs.
This list doesn't deserve Baba O'Riley, its way too good to be here.
Same with 'Hallowed Be Thy Name' by Iron Maiden
@@cgfftrophilessspursfan9952 My Generation was probably The Who’s biggest song.
@lrfcarreviews2570 I think it's close between Baba O Riley, My Generation and Won't Get Fooled Again. Thats why they are such a good band

We all know it's almost impossible to choose just a top 100 for songs since people will always have their preference. But factoring in so many things, this list is pretty good.
While I've kinda outgrown Daft Punk, one of the best memories I have is being 13 years old and listening to Discovery on my way to my first anime convention with my best friend. One More Time will always have a special place in my heart.
Welcome to the Jungle should have been much higher than 76.
I am appalled and disappointed that you did not have Bill Haley & the Comets "Rock around the Clock" on this list somewhere, the first hit Rock and Roll song EVER, and still a top of the list in some record books!
Yeah that IS a major omission now that you mention it!
There's a difference between best and most well-known
Errr, sorry, but of all the incredible music throughout time... You're kidding if you think 'Straight Outta Compton' is number 15! I'm a fan of NWA too, but let's be serious!

Thought I might see Unchained Melody or You've Lost that Loving Feeling by the Righteous Brothers. Especially since the latter was the most played song on radio for the longest time. (Since being replaced by the Police]s Every Breath you take)
While I don't question that these are all good songs, I have never heard about a third of this list, and could easily replace the ones I don't know with songs just as impactful
Thank You Again Watch Mojo People For These Music Videos.❤❤❤❤
Many of these artists' songs resonate even today, with everything that went on then is much more prevalent today!!!
Time to add new song for my playlist hehe.
Finally! I believe most of us, if not all of us, we’re waiting for this list. I am one of them! Well, I certainly can’t wait!
Disappointing not having "Take on me" :(
Kendrick Lamar on this list, must be a mistake..
i cant tell if you are joking
Awesome!
Thanks for minimizing the recent garbage they make these days. Too much good past music to include that crap. BRAVO on the top 10.
I think there will be a lot of songs from the 80s appearing in the list. I hope it includes Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill, Phil Collin's In The Air Tonight, and Tears For Fears' Everybody Wants To Rule The World.
Aw piss they're not in the list.
tik tok users be like
@@ming1408 A bunch of 80's songs tho.
No Take on Me, no Tears for Fears, no Dire Straits
I can already tell no matter the order of this list, someone is going to be pissed off
Most definitely
Yep lol
😂😂😂😂
You got that fucking right.
Rhapsody beat out Stairway. I'm happy.
I agree with the first 10 or 11 songs. I know it's difficult to come up with a list of just 100 songs from all the genres in the world. I'd like to know what the criteria to come up with these songs were. Finally, I'd like to see to the best 100 songs from each genre, now there you can give more songs their rightful place in music history. Like always, keep up the great work.
Watchmojo continues it's reputation as the worst top x lists of all time
okay then why are you here
Then don't watch it.
@@jimbo9208 You only know if something is bad if you watch it first. Then you give your opinion. Wtf is this comment are u 5?

Hope to see Don McLean's "American Pie" on this list.
Love that song and the movie LA BOMBA rip 🪦 Ritchie VALENS and bUBBY holly and big BOOPER
@@dannytooley7530 La Bamba
I need this to be a Spotify playlist.
I made one, but WatchMojo keeps deleting my comment for some reason
@@samuelhjelm1 Could you link it?
I made one
Why were there no Coldplay songs?
Thanks for putting this together, WM. You rock!
My girl at 33 is a great pick and Bridge over troubled waters is just about perfectly placed at 38, Bravo!
Many great artists but many songs missing and artists. Lara Fabian, No Mercy (The dance trio from the 90s), Alice Deejay, Cascada, Al Stewart, Kari Jobe, Newsboys, all missing and many more. But Dreams in 30 was pretty awesome to see.
Good list of songs. 👏
Sure hope they didn’t forget: sweet home Alabama, fortunate son, can’t you see, slow ride, or Dixieland Delight
they did lol
They dang well did. Idiots!
No AC/DC
1. Michael Jackson - Billie Jean
2. LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem
3. David Guetta - Play Hard
4. Bruno Mars Mark Ronson - Uptown Funk
5. Farruko - Pepas
6. Bad Bunny - Dakiti
7. Marc Anthony - Vivir Mi Vida
8. Wiz Khalifa - See You Again
9. One Direction- What Makes You Beautiful
The only valid song in that top 10 is Billie Jean
I had no idea mojo went live
It's not live, it's a premiere. You can see at the bottom of the comments, members watched it two days ago.
Coulda done top 200 no bat outta hell
Probably in the Top 25 of all Top 100 Ever lists!
Not a single Doors song?
A lot of amazing songs on this list.
I hope Thriller and Take On Me make the list
Hopefully we can agree that all 100 of these songs are great. That said there have been so many amazing songs that we could easily make another list of 100 best songs of all time out of the ones that didn't make this list and it would be just as valid!
Beautiful list
The fact that Blinding Lights is on here but not Take On Me is really strange
so glad nirvana made it to top 10! their impact and especially kurt's impact on music for me has been indescribably huge.
rest in peace kurt.
I understand that 100 entries are a lot, but I think every entry should have been discussed in _some_ broader detail.
Beach Boys and you select God only knows!? Uh, Surfin USA, Good Vibrations, Little Deuce Coupe, I Get Around… does anyone at WM listen to music?
Get around is the best song
@@djjimmy3225 great song, not better than Surfing USA
God Only Knows is their best song alongside Good Vibrations and its not even close
It’s amazing to take on such a monumental task… to take the tens of thousands of hugely popular songs stretching across generations and genres and just pick 100… no easy feat.
I started writing this comment with 7 songs to go asking where hallelujah was and then was extremely satisfied to see this unbelievably beautiful song be at number one, well deserved!!
And Yes, unless I missed it, I wonder why George Michael’s Faith wasn’t on this list but I gotta hand it to you for making a pretty darn great list. Awesome job 👍🏻
Of course the list will likely generate a lot of criticism but its still a solid list. Someone needs to put together a RUclips playlist where we can listen to all 100 songs in order (and enable us to skip one we don't want to hear).
How is Stayin' Alive only number 50?!
Best bee gees song of all time and I hope THEIR biopic would be awesome too when it comes out one ☝️ day
Haven't watched the rest of the list yet, but "In The End" at 95 is the craziest thing I've heard all year.
True, it shouldnt even be included
@@leonreborn1308 the good old one per artist, it was either that or some garbage from limpt bisket or nickelback in the nu metal genre
Agreed, I have it much higher, 27th, on my all time list
Purple Rain is top 5, top 10 at minimum for me personally. Surprised Sultans of Swing or Cash’s Hurt didn’t make it.
Purple Rain isn't even a top 5 Prince song, 1. When Doves Cry 2. Let's Go Crazy 3. Raspberry Beret 4. Little Red Corvette 5. 1999 Just of the top of my head.
@@Ras137 THANK YOU, purple rain is literally an instrumental for like 35-40% of the song. When doves cry is much better.
Hurt is sooo good
Wow Roberta Flack was my moms favorite singer of all time and Killing me softly was my moms favorite song too..
As a music lover who likes about every type of genre there is, this list is great. Not perfect for sure and I would have moved around several, especially the top 10ish songs or so. But excellent job overall. Count on watching again soon. Completely shocked at thenumber one song, because it wasn't even in my radar. But after listening it's pretty hard to argue.
Hallelujah was only popular because of Jeff Buckley. That’s wild
I never heard it till Watchmen. I thought it was great in the scene, but no way is it the top best song of all time.
kd Lang also did a version that is very famous, and was Leonard Cohen's favourite version of the song.
I remember it from Shrek, though I don't know which version it was
I'm surprised Stan by Eminem isn't on here which put a term in the dictionary or it was a good day by Ice cube
It's impossible to have a list like this that mixes every genre. You'd have to do a list of each genre separately.
Daft Punk's Tron: Legacy score is so beautiful and I have the entire collection in my iPod.
Can't believe it didn't even get nominated for an Oscar
@@ck-1649 exactly 😔
I hope they come out of retirement just for Tron 3
21:25 Good choices. Many timeless classics. But, when you put Chuck Berry’s, “Johnny Be. Goode” behind Britney Spear’s “Oops I did it Again”, I stopped paying attention to how you ranked them.
This is a great list
Can we get a playlist, please
Would have mentioned Johnny cash singing his cover of hurt that was some of his most epic singing 58:45
