You mentioned in your full review not much different from the N1005. Just the fittings of the lining. Well I rang and spoke to Nolan Italy. The plus is designed for hotter climate as it cools better. I now work and live in Costa Smeralda ride a Hayabusa and in 40 plus degrees Celsius in the shade find the helmet fantastic. I feel you should have known this before making the review. I took the time to call many manufacturers prior to purchasing my helmet. The Italians seem to know how to make great helmets. Cheers for your respectable review. 4 out of 5
Nolan makes safe and beautiful helmets, but they are thick and really large due to the Lexan(polycarbonate) material. So far I bought both N100-5 plus and N87 plus, I returned both due to the massive size of them for my head which is M, but Nolan wants me to wear L because their M is actually S. Big shame, otherwise I love them. I went AGV and no regrets.
Thanks for these tests, they are really useful! It appears the helmet did not change much since the original 100-5, but the noise and temperature test results are drastically different: 100-5 Classic: Ventilation was deemed to be weak (outside 22C / inside 30C), but the helmet was quiet (
Thanks for the feedback, it's our pleasure! We were also very surprised by the results since we made sure to keep as many variables controlled as possible. As far as we know, the liner was the main change between the two helmets. Besides the liner, manufacturers don't always share every change that they make between models so that may also have an effect. Nonetheless, since this was the data from our tests and instruments, this was what we presented. As far as a lower internal temperature, it is not a measurement error and we've found this strong performance in other helmets as well such as the Schuberth C4 Pro, Shoei Neotec 2, and Shoei NXR. Thanks for the comment! What are your thoughts on the Nolan helmet?
@@Championhelmets Thank you for your reply. I think these tests you guys do is quite unique and incredibly useful. Most testers just present the fact sheet and subjective judgement, good to have some objective measurement data as well to support those. I am considering getting a new modular helmet, N100-5 is one of the top contender, ventilation is my biggest concern; I am reading a lot of conflicting opinions on that area and I am not a fan of the n-com only headset integration. Another potential drawback is that the crown-vent appears to be fully blocked in flip-up mode, which restricts airflow defeating the point at some degree of riding with flip-up (just like my current Neotec).
@@c4ddie No problem! The N100-5 Plus did come out quite well as far as ventilation, and Nolan generally do a good job in that regard. As far as the N-Com preparation, it certainly is not ideal, since it makes a clamp mount much more difficult. Nolan's approach was at least less obtrusive than the SRL 2 panels on the latest Shoei helmets. Besides these Nolan, we found the HJC RPHA 90 and HJC i90 also showed a strong performance for ventilation at a close price point since the RPHA was the same as the outside while the i90 was only 1 degree hotter Thanks for letting us know your thoughts on the helmet! Thanks for the question! It's always best to try on the helmet at a local store. Though since it's not really possible at the moment, the two helmets should fit the same in an XXS since they share the same size chart and have similar head fits. What do you think of the N100-5?
Thanks for the question! Since both helmets seem to use the same fixing systems (in the same places even), there shouldn't be any reason why that wouldn't be possible. How did you find the N100-5?
Champion Helmets It’s well built but not too comfortable. I think the liner is quite thin compared to other helmets I’ve had before. Hence my interest in buying new liner.
That's fair, and explains why Nolan decided to try and add that plus on the end. The new liner was definitely thicker, so it should be more comfortable as well. If you have any ruther questions, we're happy to help!
@@ampm9771 It might have something to do with the size you are in. Since they only have 2 shell sizes you will get the thickest pads if you are a size XS or L and the thinnest if you are a size M or XXL.
It would be great if you could tell us what type of head shape is suitable for this helmet in all your video. It matters as i have round shape head and if this is oval shape helmet, it's meaningless to buy this helmet.
That's a good point. This helmet has an Intermediate Oval fit. Thank you for your feedback. I will make sure we mention this in future reviews. Is there anything else you would like us to add in our reviews?
@@Championhelmets , I watched many of your videos searching for round shape type but it's difficult to find them. It would be nice if you could create a playlist just for round head helmets and group all those related videos together. Likewise, you may want to consider creating playlists for long oval and intermediate oval shapes too. Thanks.

It seems like you are a bit biased, we just sum up the results from the measurements. Nothing more nothing less. Thank you for your feedback
I love your reviews! Less bla bla, more facts. Keep it up guys!
Great review. Love the included road tests
Thanks for the review Keegan!

@@Championhelmets I bought K6. Size M fits perfectly, I'm loving it.

Why can’t I find this helmet? I can only find the original n100 5. Not the plus version. Is it a US thing?
Unfortunately, it seem the Plus version is only available in Europe at the moment. Thanks for the question!
What do you think of the Nolan helmet?
Do you know if this is pretty much the same size as on n87? I can use xxs on n87. Would this be fine in the same size then? What do you think? :)

What do you think of the N100-5?
Hi! The sizes match almost exactly. I crashed an N87 and went for the N100-5 plus next and it fits the same. I am a size L for Nolan.
As the main change seems to be the liner, do you know if it's possible to fit the new liner in the old N100-5 helmets?
