I agree with you opinion of PdM - however, I think Herod is the exception in the lineup. I didn’t like Layton, Carlisle etc (too loud and suffocating), but I feel Herod is much softer and more refined.
I got the discovery set and wasn't initially impressed. Pegasus and Herod have grown on me however. I don't understand the hype around Layton and Carlisle though. Percieval is a maybe at the moment.
@@uramalakia Carlisle lover here. I get what you're saying. For me the opening of Carlisle is smelling like an unorganized medicine smell combined with nutmeg. But later it balances out that sweet tonka-vanilla with some dried fruits (davana) with the nutmeg and spices. Later the smokyness of opoponax makes it a very pleasant dry down. Actually I like the end of the mid notes and dry down way more. Imo it's not for everyone but give it a try again maybe.

I need to get my nose on kiste for sure, heard so many great reviews both that it’s a challenge yet brilliant both at the same time, extremely solid list my friend 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌
The Fragrance Apprentice haha mate I’m extremely excited for your Halloween special, you know I’m a massive fan of your work and I’m IN NO DOUBT WHATSOEVER you will amaze 👌👌your talent is unquestionably, try not to put too much pressure on yourself and just let your work do the talking, the trailer is amazing and I really hope people tune in and appreciate your efforts as I now I know the amount of work that goes into such a production 👌👍🥳🥳🥳🥳🎥🎥🎥🎥👻👻👻
The House of Sillage spot reminds be, I don't think I've ever seen a video on a top or list of most polarizing scents. Could be interesting if that's your bag George. Great video though. I'm definitely on the beginner going to intermediate side. I like the idea of maybe staying closer to designer but throwing that curve ball into something niche like the Stranger Parfumerie Wicked John or Salted Green Mango
It's funny, I wouldn't have expected Italian Leather from Memo at the end of the list. I discovered Memo fragrances a year and a half ago. I really love Irish Leather, Russian Leather is interesting but more generic/chypre smelling (still gotta try African Leather). And Italian Leather... well sometimes I LOVE it, sometimes I don't really understand it, but I never found it too bold. It's just a resinous, somewhat sweet (vanilla) leather but a tomato leaf note. It's strange because it never actually reminded me of food. It reminds me more of touching a tomato leaf/branch, but not the actual tomato. Maybe it's weird but I guess most people would like it ? Idk
I really really like PdM, but unfortunately Herod has a cinnamon note which really doesn’t work well on my skin. Which is a shame because I adore tobacco scents, tobacco is for sure my favourite fragrance note...
Some excellent descriptions George. The evolution certainly does seem to be designer -> niche -> Indie. Kiste 💪 But mostly what I got out of this is - George likes mango. 3D. 100%. And PdM is the terminator.
Setup/getup made me think “between two ferns … with Georgefianakis”. A very fun list that would be a tour for the olfactory cortex. Thank you for this!
No offense mate, but Herod is kind of a beginner sent. Herod and a vintage millesime Imperial are the first scents that I've smelled that I've actually enjoyed and loved
No, they were in order of intensity. Salted Green Mango is the least intense and challenging Fragrance on this list, Number 10 is the most intense and challenging. Hope this helps!
I dated a gal from Southampton for a bit (why the hell do y'all use the word bit and bits to describe everything?) and asked her for a cap like you're wearing. And she bought something for me that resembled the cap Sherlock Holmes wears...seriously, I just need a wood overcoat and I'm out to search for the Hound of the Baskerville's on the fens and bogs of Scotland. LOL! Oh, I just realized this cap was given to me from a gal named Mandy who hailed from the Lake District on not Issy. Too funny. Enjoyed the episode...even though I couldn't stop staring at your lid. LOL!
I will start with, I love this channel. That being said, this is not intermediate. A couple are, but mostly it is the beginning to advanced. Seriously, price point and smell, some are very adventurous. We know you are a snob George, and we love you for it. I know I do. But the jump here was a bit exponential. Great list though.
I've tried to separate Price and Scent into two different categories. There are some Fragrances to that got a more challenging scent DNA that aren't actually that expensive. There are Fragrances that are very simple and easy wearing like a lot of the water MFK's that cost a bomb. Although I will be looking into pricing in future videos!
