Good to see you again Jared. Congratulations on two years. I am glad that you checked in and are showing people that quitting is doable. The page whyquit.com/joels-videos/showing-others-that-there-is-life-without-smoking/ addresses the real value of people doing this.
You actually touched on a lot of topics here that I am going to attach resources pages that address this issues. As usual, I am going to attach them in the order that you first touched on specific topics. Also, I think since we last talked I had created two relapse prevention pages that I wanted to make you aware of. The first one is whyquit.com/joels-videos/videos-related-to-the-implications-of-a-puff-once-you-have-quit/. The video atop that page explains how to best utilize these resources. The other page is whyquit.com/joels-videos/relapse-prevention-resources/.
Once again, congratulations on your two years. Hope all is well in all of the other areas in your life and wishing you a happy and healthy new years.

Hey Joel, as always I thank you for your support and resources. Utilizing your resources has had a huge impact on my quit.
I’m responding to your comment on the mobile studio app, but can’t see your comment on my desktop computer. I know you’ve had a problem with RUclips not showing your comments before. I wonder if it’s because of all the links. In any case, I just wanted you to know that I do have access to your resources even if it looks like the comment is not on the video.
      I hope all is well!

    • @joelspitz

      Hello again Jared:
Not sure what the problem you are having with the links. I just copied and pasted my above response and sent them to you via email. I send lots of links to numerous people daily and haven't heard of the issue you are having. I will try to see if anyone else is having the problem. Once again, congratulations on your two years.
      Joel

Thanks, man. I may have worded my response to you in a confusing way.
If I navigate to this video on RUclips, I can’t see your comment. This was an issue that I remember talking with you about before.
I have access to the comment and the attached links through the studio app, but anyone else who finds the video on RUclips may not see it. It’s not an issue for me, I’m just concerned that your public comments may not always be showing up on people’s videos.

    • @joelspitz
      @joelspitz 4 года назад

Thanks for the clarification. I am not sure what the problem is. Its actually the first time anyone has mentioned the problem in quite a while and I had actually forgotten that I had a similar problem in the past. I've had many different problems with RUclips and Google as to its people being able to find our resources. Check out the page whyquit.com/joels-videos/where-can-i-get-information-on-how-to-quit-smoking-cold-turkey/ which highlights the latest and what is probably the biggest problem we are facing these day. I am afraid we are only able to reach a small fraction of the people who we had been helping over the past 20 years on the Internet. The only good news I can see from the problem you are making me aware of is that I guess I don't have to feel that people who I am reaching out to are purposely ignoring me, for many never respond one way or another to my comments on their channels. Maybe its possible that many of these people have simply never seen my replies to them. Either way its not the best situation for the people who I would like to be helping but I am not sure what I can do to rectify the problem. If you ever come across any possible information on how to resolve this I would be most appreciative.

Hi Jared, I’ve been cigarette free for almost 8 months now! 🤗
I so want to thank you, your videos saw me through some very hard moments. 😊
Also, just recently I started working with smokers who I regularly run into outside and I’ve noticed that while the cigarette smoke in that moment smells overwhelming and gross, doesn’t trigger any desires to smoke, the next day I WILL crave cigarettes...I think you’re right to avoid secondhand smoke.
    Thanks again!

Hi Jared, congratulations on reaching your 2 year milestone... that's awesome!! I'm still right behind you and hit mine yesterday. Woohoo!!!! I know what you mean about still having to keep your guard up though. I'm heading to Ireland to celebrate St Patrick's Day next month and even though, like you, I rarely ever think about smoking these days, I know my triggers and I know that once the St Paddy's day celebrations begin and the alcohol starts flowing, the urge to smoke will be strong. But I shall resist. Mainly because I dont ever want to have to quit again! Keep on keeping on and I look forward to being right behind you again when you reach your 3 year milestone :)

ppl say it's so fucking hard to quit but I've been cold turkey now and after the initial withdrawal was over I looked back and thought about how surprisingly not hard it was. "hardest thing in my entire life" not even close, not even top 5. Was it difficult to built the level of motivation I needed to make the choice to never pay for another cigarette for the rest of my life? Yes, very difficult and I failed many times because I just didn't have the motivation, resolve, and self discipline to really follow through with my intentions but after I really dug deep and pulled that motivation out of myself, the hardest part was already over. Now I just have to deal with relatively mild withdrawals symptoms, literally nothing compared to what I've experience quitting other substances. It's not easy, not be any stretch, but it's also not as hard as you probably think it is. YOU CAN DO IT

I quit smoking almost 8 months ago. That was just the first month when I lost my mother to breast cancer, but I wanted to be strong, just for my mom. Feel great now, but still have some hard times. Especially, most of my friends do smoke.. and when I go out and wait there alone until the others go to smoke. 😄 One of my friends also said:,, It's so sad that you quit smoking.'' Well... sad to make you sad. 🤣 Like there is the only way to chat.. when you smoke.
Yeah, still think about that, but I've been coming so far and it will mentally kill me, if I fail. It's normal to think about it sometimes, especially when you have done it for so many years and every hour of it. 😄 Good luck & very good videos!

Jared! Good to see you again after so long. Sadly. I'm still a smoker, but your words and your testimony are priceless. Also, sadly, I was diagnosed with lung cancer this past July. It's the saddest thing that' has ever happened to me in my entire life. I'm embarrassed and crestfallen that I let this happen, and all I can do is carry on and hope and pray that I choose to stop and stay stopped from this point on.
I could go on, but I'll let this be it for the moment.
I have one question to ask you though, in case you are willing to share it: I'm wondering what do you do for a living, and how this relates to how you stay away from smokers and smoking.
Well, I wish I had better news, but there it is.
    Sincerely,
    Rich Stadler, in Columbus, Ohio.

Hey Rich :) I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It really is devastating to hear. I'm a worrier by nature, and every once in a while I've pondered what I would have done as a smoker if I got that news. I really hope you can stay in good spirits. Is there any treatment you're exploring?
As far as work, I wait tables. There are employees there that smoke, and I still have the triggers of running to take my own smoke breaks when things get hectic in the past. Another thing I've had to deal with is smokers passing by when I'm serving on our patio. While our guests can't smoke there, I'll sometimes be talking to a table, and suddenly I'm hit with someone's smoke, and can't even see where it's coming from. I'll try to hold my breath, and duck away from the table at the next opportunity.
Thinking of you, and wishing you the best, man.
