Thank you. You are so appreciated such an entertainer. You make learning fun. I can rewatch your videos time and time again. Hopefully someday some of this knowledge will stick.
Can’t wait for this course. I am loving the fact that you’ve included more labs as I felt that was something that was missing from previous courses. It’s all well and good watching someone do it but it gets ingrained in your brain when you do it yourself so the labs will definitely help learning!
Awesome video and in explanation. Before the video I didn’t quite know what FHRP was, but due to your skillful teaching and demo, I’m now aware and know how to check a few things. I’m still studying for my CCNA and testing in January. I really do enjoy the little seemingly insignificant things you also take the time to explain like explaining what -d means when you go tracert -d. That makes a difference. But now I know what it means also.
Keith, thank you for your amazing videos. All of you at CBT Nuggets and my amazing Cisco instructors at my college helped me obtain my CCNA R&S in April and I'm currently going through the current CCNP coursework now. I can't wait to reach that next level! Thanks for the videos and for all that you do. Also - Where the heck did you get that sloth in the background?? lol
Thank you for the comments! Glad you are here. I have some FirePower videos @CBTNuggets. The new CCNA content will be released in December, and then more of the new professional level content in the first quarter of 2020.
Thank you for the question Chris Bleck. If there are 2 (or more) Layer 3 routed interfaces (router or multi-layer switch SVIs) in the same VLAN, those Layer 3 interfaces could be configured with HSRP to provide a fault tolerant default gateway address for clients in that same VLAN.
I decided to invest 20 hours earlier this year, and yes I can now play the ukulele. A fantastic mobile app that help was "Kala Ukulele". Thanks for the question!
Thank you Winfred Mathias. Feel free to join my Discord sever. Lots of people there helping each other out. Each Saturday at 10am Pacific I hold my "Office Hour" where learners can ask questions about the topics they are studying. Mostly focusing on Cisco CCNA 200-301 topics. Feel free to join us there live if you are available. Here is the link ogit.online/Join_OGIT_on_Discord Thanks again Winfred Mathias!
Well, here I am three years later, learning more from you. I thank you so much from a teacher that is trying to transition into IT. So appreciated!
Thanks for the continued support over the years!

Released @cbtnuggets in December 2019, right around the corner.

Thanks, it has been very informative
Thank you for the comments Mohmed! Glad you are here.
Continuing on Chris's question would we have to setup hsrp for each vlan on the layer three switches. What if we had twenty different vlans?
Thank you Zenna. If we had 20 vlans, we would need 40 L3 interfaces (2 per vlan) to pair up for HSRP default gateway services.
so if we have 100 vlans, and we want to add another switch for redundancy, we should go to each vlan and configure hsrp ?
Thank you for the question Chris Bleck. If there are 2 (or more) Layer 3 routed interfaces (router or multi-layer switch SVIs) in the same VLAN, those Layer 3 interfaces could be configured with HSRP to provide a fault tolerant default gateway address for clients in that same VLAN.
what's that music in the start of video starting at 0:08. I wonder every time i watch Keith's videos.
Thank you for the question Mohit Sindhu. It is part of the included music library in Camtasia Studio, by Techsmith.
Happy studies.
First comment great intro to redundancy protocol
Thank you for the comments Anil! Glad you are here.
But what is the use of that virtual IP?
Thank you for the question Requiem. We configure clients (usually via DHCP) to use that virtual IP address as their default gateway.
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
You play ukulele?
I decided to invest 20 hours earlier this year, and yes I can now play the ukulele. A fantastic mobile app that help was "Kala Ukulele". Thanks for the question!
This video was monetized, by a site selling braindumps. Your training videos deserved better than that. :-(
Thank you kjakobsen! Can you point me to where they were using it, and I will see what I can do to stop that. Thank you in advance.
