@@liamfanny9802 Meaths performance v Tyrone was one of the best football performance of the 90s. Who said that. Mick O Connell the most stylish gaelic footballer ever, who was on the team of Millenium and team of century of midfield. Meath were outstanding in 3 semi finals in late 90s to 01. They beat Tyrone in 96 semi final by 9 pts beat Armagh in 99 semi final by 6 pts and kerry in 01 semi final by 15 pts. Meath played brilliant football those years because they had some of the best footballers in Ireland. Tyrone had one great player. Meath came to final massive underdogs. It was expected Tyrone would follow on from Down Derry and win Sam in 96. But Meath went on to be one of the greatest young team ever. That Meath team won Sam in 96 with 7 players U21. Only kerry team in 1975 had as many U21 when they won Sam. McDermott McGuinness dominated midfield. While Graham Geraghty put on greatest performance by half forward in All Ireland semi final in 90s scoring 1- 3 from play. His goal was brilliantly worked goal. Meaths long range point scoring was magnificent with Brendan Reilly who scored 5 brillant long range points. Meath totally outplay Tyone. Meath won 2 All Ireland that Tyrone team won 0. That Tyrone couldn't beat Dublin or any top teams outside Ukster. That Meath beat Dublin 4 times in 5 years in championship. And beat Dublin kerry Tyrone Mayo Armagh Cork all in the championship in 5 years. There was 2 incidents. Accidental incident with Martin O Connell one of the greatest defenders of all time. Martin said it was accident. Tyrone don't believe it. Will never know who was right. There was late challenge on Cavanan, you would see 100 of them in Ulster champions every couple of years. That's it. The rest was swashbuckling exhibition football. Meath were a better team. If That Meath team 96 to 01 played Tyrone 10 times Meath would have won 10 times because Meath were much better team. Other than Cavanan and Dooher none of the Tyrone forwards would have got on Meath forward line. Mhi 96 to 01 One of the greatest forwards line of last 30 years with Trevor Giles Graham Geragty Tommy Dowd Evan Kelly Brendan Reilly Ollie Murphy all all star winning forwards. Tyrone really thought they had 96 in bag. After the game they were sore losers and whinged. Took two incidents and blew them into something massive to make them feel better. The bandages on one player head looked like a toilet roll but made them make up this was rough game. There was 2 incidents that it. Who was better team. That Meath team had best full back in Ireland in 90s Darren Fay. Martin O Connell is the greatest left half back ever to play football only modern player on team of Millenium and he also won Footballer of the year. John McDermott was best midfielder in Ireland 96 to 99. Tommy Dowd is the only player ever to win 4 All stars in 4 different positions. He won 3 in a row All stars in mid 90s he was one best forwards in Ireland in mid 90s. Graham Geraghty is only player in last 35 years to win All star as forward and back. For many Geraghty is one of the most talented gaa players of last 30 years. Ollie Murphy was the best corner forward in Irelabd 99 to 01. Brenan Reilly was best full forward in Ireland in 96 97 scoring 5 pts from play in semis and 4 from play in final and scoring winner in replay which is the best All Ireland winning point from play in last 50 years eg Rock Cluxton in 2011 were frees. Trevor Giles was the best footballer in Ireland in late 90s winning 2 Footballer of the year awards in 4 years, he is only two time players footballer of the year along with Brian Fenton. Meath 96 01 are one of the greatest team ever to come out leinster. Outside Dubs in last 90 years only 4 leinster team have won 2 All Ireland they are Meath 1949 1954
      Offaly 1971 1972
      Meath 1987 1988
      and Meath 1996 1999.
They were also managed by one of the greatest manager of all time Sean Boylan. So the facts are Meath won more than Tyrone , Meath won 2 All Ireland Tyrone won 0 All Ireland, Meath played 3 All Ireland finals Tyrone played in 1. Meath had a better manager, better defenders, better midfield, better forward line Meath were much superior team. That's why rhey won 2 All Irelands. Meath were the better team that's a fact.

@@liamfanny9802 Yes completely unfair and pure dirt. But Tyrone then were a naive Setup. When you go to Croke park to play the Dubs, Meath or Kerry you haver to be prepared to fight fire with fire. In 1991, Down hit back with just as much thuggery of their own. Same in 1994.

@@billyflynn6432 Joint best team of the 90's. Kerry, Down and Meath all won 2 all Ireland's in that decade. However when you look closer at head to heads. Down beat both Meath and Kerry, with no losses to either. I ask you humbly, Royal and Kingdom Gaels, kneel and bow to your 90's kings. The mighty Mourne men. ❤🖤❤🖤❤🖤❤🖤

O connell should have been banned from playing gaa, for several years his tackle was outrageous a, blind man could see he deliberately stood on the Tyrone man's head and used pressure with the studs
