    You don't need to use a bubble mailer to send DVDs. You can just use a polythene mailing bag. It's much cheaper and works fine.

      That’s great! I haven’t sold DVDs in over a year now but if I do again I’ll keep this in mind. Thanks!

      @@lifeofareseller I suppose the one slight downside with using polythene mailing bags is they don't provide as much protection as a bubble mailer, so you may get a few problems and have to refund, but in most cases they're fine.
      On another thing with DVDs, I can't compete with other sellers on price. Seems like here in the UK, people are selling DVDs at a loss - they aren't even covering the postage with listings. I don't know why they do it at a loss as that's bad business. I sell my DVDs for about £2.99 and charge postage to the buyer. There's not a lot of profit in most DVDs these days, but it's worth trying just to see. Obviously other items are far more profitable on eBay than DVDs.

    I didn't realise the weight mattered. I thought it just had to fit through the "Large Letter" slot, so I've learnt something new THANK YOU

    What size of bubble mailer? Thanks!

    • @DirectApproachLifestyle
      @DirectApproachLifestyle Месяц назад +1

      You want something that has internal dimensions of at least 15cm x 20cm. That will comfortably fit most single DVD cases in it. Bigger stuff like DVD box sets will obviously need bigger envelopes, so you'll need to measure the size. You can also use grey mailing bags instead, though they don't provide as much protection.

    I used to weigh them and chuck 3 stamps on - but for the last few months ive sent hundreds of things that definitely weigh over 125g and just put 2 stamps on anyway. Havent got any repercussions or bills at all, maybe give it a shot, its saved me a lot!

    Nice vid man. On aust post mailers they have an dangerous goods authorisation to sign. This is the inky reason why I buy these as if it's not signed it says it will delay the post and will travel by air. Have you had any issues with the delay of the dvd using your plain mailers?

    • @lifeofareseller
      @lifeofareseller  Год назад +1

      Thanks mate! Nope! No issues at all. Everybody gets them in excellent time. Only thing is sometimes (very rarely) I get an “item not received” case but I just refund and be done with it. They’re not worth enough money to pay the tracker postage. No issues with delays at all

    Hi, I have just found your videos and have been watching some of the older ones. I love watching Australian resellers because I feel that their information is more relevant to me. I am new at this and would really appreciate a link to the padded mailers you use please.

    Might be quite a dumb question to someone experienced like yourself but I’m very new to this.
    After watching a few videos I saw that a lot of resellers were choosing the ‘EBay shipping label’ option. This seems like the simplest option. I’ve sold a couple of games now and the postage is coming to around $10 a pop. My question is, with the tracked mailers for example - how do I pick them as the option on ebay when setting up postage? Also, is the $4.80 for those mailers inclusive of the cost of postage? And does the cost change if I’m mailing from say Sydney to WA?
    Really sorry for a question that I’m sure is a very simple one to solve but I’m so lost. Thank you for your videos!

      Hey! There’s no such thing as a dumb question! :)
      So if you’re selling games or DVDs then you don’t need to do shipping through eBay at all. The postage option you’ll select on your listings if you’re using the tracked mailers is “domestic letter with tracking”. If you buy those mailers in the video, the postage is covered in the cost of the mailers, they’re pre-paid. I believe the cost is more than $4.80 now though, over $5 I think.
      If you send me an email or message on Instagram, I’ll explain a way you can do tracked shipping cheaper. This video is a bit outdated from my current method :) thanks for watching!

    Great clip. Have just discovered your channel. I just have one question. Lots of the DVDs I see in the op shops are taped shut. Do you check the quality of all your DVDs before purchasing or before you send them out?

    • @lifeofareseller
      @lifeofareseller  Год назад

      Thanks so much for being here! I always check before purchasing, or if I can’t get sticky tape off I just wing it but I always check before listing. I usually do whatever I can though to get the tape off and check the disc, because I’ve been burned a few times.
