IMSAI Guy if you look at the cover plate it has a groove cut out for the o-ring and the back cover has a retaining ring that has a lip which faces towards the cover to hold it in place I own several hundred ratchets and have rebuilt many of these ratchets so I have to disagree with you.
@Joe T if I could show you , the cover plate is smooth, no groove, also what looks like a rubber o-ring, is a hard metal bushing. I have seen the ones you are describing but that is a different model
Snap-on wrenches and EREM pliers and cutters. Nothing too good for our hero!
I can’t believe you paid $10. I’ve never had to pay for a kit ever. Just call the 800 number and they send it free…no shipping either.
I can see the ratchet afterwards was stiff so you did something wrong when putting that back plate
There was only one screw in the rebuild kit before you opened it. BTW what’s the rebuild kit number?

The rubber seal goes in front of the gear not behind. If you look at the cover plate there’s a place for it to sit in.
some of the snap-on ratchets are as you describe. this one is not.

@@182JoeT if you watch the video the old one comes out with the back plate. Seems like he put it in the right place to me
Did you call snap on or was it online to get the kit?
Online
Has anyone tried this on a 1/4 ratchet?
