    The disturbingly dispassionate monotone voice you chose for the narration is absolutely perfect.

      It is important to note that the narrator is capable of other tones; so yes, as you, Literal Sarcasm, have pointed out is a good choice.

      I assume you're being sarcastic, because this is terrible. I don't need music or silly voices, but flatly reading out a story as if the teacher called on you to read out loud in class is a really lame way to record an audiobook. He doesn't sound sinister or cold, he sounds as if he's bored and he resents having to read this.

    “The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a /new dark/ age.”

      @@crestofcourage3209 its one of mine, but I haven't posted it online yet. I borrowed a few d&d references. Basically a character gets trapped in a castle on another plane with a bunch of demons. But I can rustle something up.

    Not sure if you've re-visited this one yet, but if not then I beg of you to do so, because your audiobook presentation has improved a lot in the past 6 years!
    One other, less pertinent suggestion I'd like to give is to PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY REMOVE THE AUDIO WAVE EFFECT FROM YOUR VIDS! It serves little purpose aside from potential screen burn.
    Anyway I love you please have my man baby.

    I enjoyed this a lot, though as a lifelong resident of Dunedin (raised in the inland hill suburbs where the cult holds its rituals) I feel obligated to observe that you mispronounced the toponym. The accent in "Dunedin" is on the second syllable, not the first, so it rhymes (sort of) with the phrase "run bleedin'." That's a small nit to pick, however; I really do enjoy these Lovecraft readings.

    Who else is Going thru opiate withdrawals while listening?

    • @gilian2587
      @gilian2587 2 года назад

      Not possible. I had a doctor prescribe an opiate derivative to me once to dull the pain from a strep throat infection. One spoonful of that stuff made my stomach react so violently with such a degree of pain that my throat felt mild by comparison. I threw away the bottle and never touched the damn stuff again. However... you have my sympathy. Doctors should never prescribe that stuff... it's been so addictive historically that it's dangerous and irresponsible to even expose the general population to that crap.
