This is very instructive for composing in one way, but begs many questions. How do you even go about composing for multiphonics...you'd have to know what was possible....are they really flexible or do the multiphonic intervals happen organically. In other words, how much control does the oboe player have? In the example, more partials, what are they? Are they distinct enough to notate precisely or is it just notated generally as a chord without distinct pitches? It sounds like the result is rather variable.
