Sunset Riders is a shooting game in western style, released to arcades and later ported to home consoles.
The story revolves around the characters Steve, Billy, Bob and Cormano (this is a Mexican), which are bounty hunters. In the SNES version you can only play with 2 characters, but all 4 are available. Steve and Billy use revolver, Bob and Cormano use shotguns.
Each of the eight stages begins with a poster of 'WANTED', showing the head of the stage and the value of the prize for his head. Each boss is a kind of character classic westerns, from a wealthy oil to Indians, coming in flowery Richard Rose, a British full of eye candy that is the last boss of the game. A true classic of the western genre.
Stenio (player 1)
xRavenXP (2 player)

Esse nível era demais pra mim quando tinha 8 anos, revivi a época em que meu pai era vivo e jogava todo o domingo comigo e com meu irmão.
Muito obrigado pelas boas lembranças
I forgot how cool the stage 1 music was during the breakdown. Man the SNES sure had some great music.
This game is pretty sweet. If I ever get a Snes this one will definitely be on my list.
Loaded this on my Snes Mini. Good game challenging though. Sadly missed out on this when it came out years ago. I'm 36 btw haha
Saw this for $89.99 plus tax in store. It's definitely a game I'd love to have in my collection, it's so visually beautiful and the gameplay is simple yet addictive and fun!
Modify a wii you can have it
@@LoneTaurus82 Wild Guns is superior... I put that one of my SNES Classic but not Sunset Riders
@@wrathovgod5099, don't you dare to Say that!
I missed this game. Childhood memories.
22:15 Paco Loco:Asta la Bye-bye! **Fire a lot of bullets before dead**
Dude how are you dodging those knives on that boss (chief)that jumps on the rock formations at 19:00? Crazy good dodging right there.
Dude their is some ultra instinct dodging in this video, what the heck, man i loved playing this game with my brother, what nostalgia
LOVE this game.....so many enjoyable days of playing being in the Wild Wild West
Man, you guys are good at this!
The SNES version was the arcade port as where the Mega Drive was a different game. I personally liked the SNES version more because you have more players to choose from, better sound and graphics. I never cared for the Mega Drive version myself, but I give Sega credit for trying something different.
Same with the Ninja Turtles. Hyperstone Heist looked like it wanted to be Turtles in Time, but it was it's own game. I really liked that one too.
Ending
Steve: Our job is over, boys.
Billy: Yup, after all the hard work we gone through, I need a vacation.
Bob: So where to now, boys? We have just defeated our wanted men.
Steve: We keep going further until Konami ever thought of bringing us back for PSN, XBLA, and maybe a sequel, until than, let's go off into the sunset and enjoy the road.
Cormano: That's a good idea! Wherever you go, I go. They'll need us when they're ready.
Oh, if only it were true now.
Had it not been for the subtitles, I would have thought Simon Greedwell said "Marry me with my money."
He already was XD
I'm not alone lmaooo
At least the SNES version has all the bosses.
Nunca me dejan de sorprender estos clásicos:()
That POW-WOW was wow'ed (awesome).
Much better, than Mega drive version.
Hell yeah!!!! Light years better.. .
16 bit console fans when a port of a arcade game to aleast one of the consoles is slightly different than the source material:
This is a great game.
Games like this were very fun, kind of bullet storm games... except in reverse; YOU ARE THE STORM! Dynasty Gunmen!
Good playthrough buy both players, good video!
A favourite game in my heart
Excellent port.
I love this game
Adios amigos!
I wonder what The Terminator would be like if he said "Asta la bye bye." instead of "Asta la vista, baby."
As the ultimate album of The Ramones (1996)
Nostalgia.
Jogo e gameplay maravilhosos!!!!
Nostalgia pura e um sentimento incômodo por nunca ter zerado esse jogo! 😞
É tenso com 4 imagina com 1 kkkkk
Sim
the dark horse stage has the best sound track yeah ¡!
This game always puzzled me. Super NES always had better graphics, music, clearer voices, etc...but they almost always suffered from slowdown where Genesis versions never did. This game, though, has massive amounts of bullets, enemies, fast action, and no slowdown whatsoever. Good programming, I guess.
yes good programming. same with turtles in time. konami knew what they were doing. the most impressive snes game with no slowdown is rendering ranger r2, insane amounts of stuff on screen blowing up and no slowdown
Used to play this at the local taco shop back in '99.
Back in 99?? Hahahhahahah!!! Bullshit
Jadi ingat game ini, sewaktu Kls 1 SD
amazing port to super Nes
Certainly more accurate than the Genesis version. Pretty much like playing the arcade version with a few limitations and only 2 players.
The voices... could be better though. Maybe with a bigger ROM size they could've had clearer voices.
WONDERFUL!!!!
Bello 😊 me lo ricordo❤
.this game and background bunos music. its reminds me the old day's 'Childhood : ) happy moment's.with my olde'st -Brother .playing this game.
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁ADIOS AMIGO
I remember the coin-up version showed a rose in the air when the last boss died. I wonder why they didn't put it in the SNES.
"Bury me with my money."
7:35 best part
A game que has been part 2
Konami needs to release this on a collection for modern consoles.
surprised this hasnt hit the psn or xbl yet.
Top.
Good 🎉
Jogo clássico do Super Nintendo.
OPAAA FINALMENTE UM BR
Esse Cormano é muito fominha kkkk
❤
Da hora
When I play this, I can only choose Either Billy or Cormano, why is that?
Sure you're not playing the MegaDrive/Genesis version? That only had those two characters.
The burning question - why did El Greco bring a bullwhip to a gun fight?
Um canal com tanto escritos teria que fazer gameplays de jogos de 7 geraçao de console
i thought it was on sega only,,, i played the sega version only.
Konami is a great ancient company that made our lives enjoyable over the whole time
this great game need a reboot with improved graphics , more levels and game modes
Better than any game that's out these days apart from GTA V.
FACT!!!
Where are the cowgirls from this game?
They desapared.
It's stranger!
I don't know why they decided to make Billy a palette swap of Steve unlike the arcade version, I mean how hard is hit to draw a blue shirt?, also that makes him exactly like Steve, unlike the Arcade version in which he holds his guns lower.
Memory limitations.
+Pedro Juan The SNES version has several others fails anyway, the one you pointed out is far from being its worse since you can add censorship beyond measures + most gags have been removed + muffled audio etc...
But yeah, about that swap it's most likely memory limitations since the rom leads to think the cart was filled.
Parallax Craze Well, I don't think it was censorship more than memory limitations, the beer drinking animation and the Indian enemies, or "Die Gringo" could not fit in, not that they were censored, but hey, at least it's not the Genesis version.
Additionaly, how come they didn't have a problem with Billy's different animations than Steve, I mean his win pose is different, among other things.
Of course it's not the Genesis version since this one is not censored + keeps most gags ;)
Both versions are very different anyway.
& it's certainly censorship as with most SNES games (Final Fight; Desert Strike; Blackthorne & many many others...). Sunset Riders relies a lot on its universe, mature + with many fun stuff, so if it wasn't censorship they would have rather cut others less important things.
Parallax Craze Non censorship doesn't mean better, *compared* to the Genesis version the SNES is practically arcade-perfect.
The indian enemies are definitely limitations, if not, tell me, why did they keep Chief Scalpem/Wigwam?
15:57
they must maked and released sunset rider 2 and sequels sunset riders
SUNSET RIDERS SNES
Yes, that is indeed what they are playing.
im big sega mega drive fan but you are wrong here my friend the snes version is better
Boy, you've done your homework! Are you video game historian or something?
There's something I don't understand. When I watch at 45'00, I see an indian throwing knives. When I play this game these knives kill me but here in the video they don't do anything to the player. Why ? It looks like players can't be hurt. This video doesn't help me in any way...
Que lastima que en las diferentes consolas cambie el juego por que francamente para mi esta es la mejor version de todas y pense que era la unica pero para mi si debio ser la unica las otras que he visto no me convencen para nada
T_T wtf censoring the ladies? chief wigwam? I wonder if the sega version did this too
No they didn't but genesis version has worse graphics and the levels are kinda different.
Marcel Weber Also that one just had Billy or Bob and Cormano only.
+dorourke105 Welcome to SNES lame censorland ;) (& this port has MANY others flaws)
Parallax Craze lol man you remind me of marketers from the era
+TheDabeavis Not an issue since 2 out of the 4 guys play similarly &, of course, on Genesis we ended with 2 different guys.
Rip snes control
The name Cormano sounds more Italian than spanish to me. In that case why would a Mexican character would have such name like this.
Well we did have Spaghetti westerns, with Italians playing as Mexicans.
Red dead redemption dos anos 90
if konami not maked sequel for this game taito must makes sunset rider 2
Taito doesn't really exist anymore. What is formed under the name today is just SquareEnix' holding company for Arcades in Japan but they don't develop games anymore. In fact Taito Soft, the game development division was dissolved in 2010.
Taito won't do a sequel to a game they didn't make to begin with. It's up to Konami, and they are a shell of their former selves.
Well, they managed to fit the whole game, but not some very small cutscenes?
And doesn't "El Greco" means "The Greek"? That guys sure does not look like a Greek! More like a...I don't know, Mexican?? :p
And which scenes suffered censorship?
Wonderful game that's for sure, but I just play it guns blazing spamming the bullets, pretty much like Contra, only it's about cowboys in the wild west instead of nowadays shooting aliens all over the place...
There's just one thing I'm really got trouble with fighting the Smith Brothers, how does the Saloon survive and stay open for business with all of those explosives and burning molotov's cocktails by the Smith Brothers ??
Even if your partner doesn't get the reward, at least he gets something, like the dancers on the stage in the Saloon, which is, a big mess...
The downer with this game is the censorship on the dancers in the Saloon during the show, but the rest of the game is great...
There's a new Sheriff in town !!!
I played this with my step dad at our nearest nickel city and we beat it with only wasting only 200 nickel lol
where is ur original dad?
How much is that in dollars?
@@DanielAyy I think a $50
Or $40
This game was the shit!!!!
People say this is better than wildguns pffft
This game has recycled assets from turtles in time.
This is nothing compared to the gem Wildguns
chuckobscure ^wildguns is easy
i like this better than wildguns, just barely. but i can 100% understand anyone who prefers wildguns. that game is absolutely awesome (and so is sunset riders). both in my top 5 snes games ever
This is another good example of just how sad and pathetic Nintendo's enforced censorship on everything was.
Cheaters!!!
I think SEGA Genesis had better music in this game.
It might looks good but other than that it's a lame port since it's heavily censored (which is not surprising on SNES) + most gags have been removed (just why?!) + the sound is muffled (as usual on SNES) and it also lacks the ranking (again, why?)... Bleh. Arcade or Genesis all the way!
chuckobscure Nah, I disagree. Personally I find the SNES port to be great. I understand the censorship (unlike most of the arcade fans) and I feel that the music is better. But eh, my opinion, your opinion.
Even with the censorship this is a more complete port - the Genesis only had four levels, two playable characters, a different bonus level and none of the bosses' speech. This SNES version is much more complete.
The Mega drive port is so stripped down its honestly not even worth playing.
this version destroys the genesis version. no contest
and don't forget the awful laser shot sounds their guns in the Genesis version WTF they are using Revolvers and Rifles not fucking Sci-Fi guns
this game is way too easy... Wild Guns is better
