Thanks for the great info. I’m looking for a jig to speed up my installs. I’ve been using hole-saws and a jig saw for the last decade.

I use a makita with a 1/4" up cut compression bit but it takes a while. I think if you order the Major bit you can actually drill a hole before hand and route it out fast. I can't find any mention of the proper bit either and the Major template doesn't even say, it only says what size bushing and bit per type of router

I wonder how these various templates account for or accommodate for beveled stiles, if at all?

Any tips on extracting broken off 10-32 machine screws that have rusted and sheared off and the remnants still sitting inside their holes in the pocket?

Hey man. Ryan Schwartz sent me your video. He said he's a friend of yours. Anyhow, I'm thinking about using that keedex on some aluminum doors. He has one I can borrow. Where do I get the proper router bits? I have a router. I just need the correct bits to use on the aluminum door

What size bit and what size template guide are you using with that?
I've had this jig lying around for some time, bought a Milwwakee, and can't figure out for the life of me how to piece it together. I think I need a different router(?)

Great video Wayne, I had wondered about the pros/cons of using those different jigs.

Hey love this in depth overall comparison ,I started off with the keedex a year or 2 ago and it was flimsy as you pointed out (noticed in your vid of the keedex the tightening screws just unscrewed themselves ). I used the HIT 45 today for the first time and there was a bevel towards the inside of the door putting the backseat at the wrong spot ,had to do it from outside and transfer the holes… any tips for the tabs installation ?

Holly cow Wayne I've been looking for a video like this and finally, you made one! Thanks!
Do you have any tips for accurately measuring and marking the backset when you have to cut one in freehand AND when the door edge is beveled or radius?
I can't seem to figure it out since Adam's Rite calls for measuring backset from the centerline of the door edge but you can't get a tape measure or square on the centerline; only on the high or low edges.

Technically its from the farthest edge that sticks out. On a right or left beveled door, the best way to figure out which one sticks out more, put a carpenter's square on the edge and the edge that has a gap is the side you ignore, and the side that touches the square is the side you measure from.
The third option is a rounded door, that is from the center of the door (plus or minus about an 1/16"th of an inch or so, because I believe the actual center of rounded bevels is 1/2 the length of the radius, so if its a 1/8" radius, 1/16" would be taken off the whole measurement, but if you aren't OCD like me, you can just measure from the edge).

Im suprised your OCD does auto correct it to CDO so its alphabetically correct.
