ok, now try taking off all the effects, just pure piano sound, and see if it still sounds good. if not, then you need to work on music theory not sound design
for this kinda music its all about sound design and creating a mood with it, idk whatchu on bro
if the core of it isn't solid then it's not gonna have the same impact, is all i mean. you need to make sure your chord progressions are sorted and sound good without effects before you start drowning it in reverb and stuff. it just seemed to me like the guy was creating kinda random chords with no logical progression. that's all
