As long as The Fannies are still around making excellent music there is still hope for a better world. See you in Cologne in October. Cheers from Germany
Now that's what I call rock music. Geddit? Saw them down in Cork last month and looking forward to seeing them in Dublin later this year. You'll always be welcome on these shores lads.
Wonderful track!! I love TFC from day one, and they still sound as fresh as in the beginning. This track could easily be on "Songs from Northern Britain", the same laid back groove. I once met the band BEFORE their rise in Bellshill in 1989. I was on a UK trip with my friend Peter for our german indie fanzine. And Duglas from BMX Bandits gave us the tip to meet the Fannies. I still got their demo tape of "A Catholic Education". Maybe I should put it here on YT..?? Later in 1991 I saw them at the T&C in London, and Gerry invited us to the Aftershow-Party. Still one of my alltime favorite bands!!! I still have the green t-shirt with the mirrored band name...but: it's nowadays 3 sizes to small :-(
@@music4yourheart Echt? Cool, dann bist du einer der 100 Glücklichen, denn mehr haben wir damals nicht zusammengeschustert. Pro Ausgabe. Wenn es überhaupt so viele waren...
Gerard we miss you. However, your solo project is splendid. Lightships is absolutely moving and that's the very essence of the band. It's everything I wanted to say)))
Yay, new TF! Just what I needed today. Lovely song and beautiful drone shots. I want to make music while standing on a rocky, windswept coast! Where do I sign up?
I have to agree. There have been some great songs in there but the past four albums have all had the same dulled production and basically all the songs are at the same BPM with more or less the same drum beat.
My favourite band yet I'm sorry to say that since Gerry left the band it has become bland and predictable. I continually come back hoping for a return to form but I can barely listen to the whole song any more.
Part of the problem is that, for some time, Gerry's songwriting was getting better and better while Norman and Raymond's was declining. He became the best songwriter in the band from Howdy onwards. His vocals also added variety to prevent songs like this becoming a bit of a dirge. His loss is strongly felt.
Not sure about their sound these last couple albums. Vocals all sound like the Moody Blues now, and nothing particularly catchy about these tunes. It’s just hard to listen to Sparky’s Dream and Neil Jung then this.
Looove so much that song.Listening every day
Yep. Unmistakably Raymond.
Love that saturated guitar tone.
The kings of catchy melodies. Great !
Yeah! 😊
The world is a better place with The Fannies
This band always deserved more recognition.
The tree that becomes a fire is a beautiful lyric.
Awesome song from Raymond! Can't wait to hear the album.
Still great. Ty for keeing it alive. #90s ✌️❤️
Classic TFC. Just terrific. ❤

Beautiful beautiful music, Thank you !!

Another wonderful TFC song. Thank you.
This is unmistakably a song of Raymond by Raymond for Raymond and me.
another great song. this new album is gonna be awesome
2023 e Teenage Fanclub continuando a nos dar pérolas! amey!!!
Saw them at Birmingham town hall on the 14/11/23.
One of the greatest guitar bands ever!
That was a good gig!
They've still got it!!

Was für ein Zufall: Hab gestern meine Anorak Ausgaben im Keller wiedergefunden!

Lovely song and a beautiful piece of filming.
Nice to see another record coming. I've been hanging with you guys since 19.
Depois dos Beatles, minha banda favorita... ouço teenage fan club everyday

Magical lyrics as per 🎶
Brilliant.
Very nice clip and a great song!
Mais um exemplo de melodias que grudam docemente. Presentes de Deus para nós, apreciadores de boa música!
Great song
Hearing this as the opening track at the Leadmill last week was just incredible, gave me euphoric goosebumps! 🥰
Got my tix, can’t wait to see them. Magic song!
PLEASE COME TOUR THE US❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Still on!!!
This is the best pop rock song I’ve heard released in more than a decade.
Love these guys!
Beautiful!

Really looking forward to teenage fanclub live in Birningham soon.
Me too!
Can't wait for the album !
Absolutelly Beautiful
This is beautiful. Thank you. 🎵🎶
Debuted on my weekly personal music charts in July 9, 2023 edition :)
I like it, but I'm slightly disappointed they haven't let Euros do a song or two just to mix things up a bit.
❤
I'm ready for the snow
A new TFC tune. Everything is going to be ok 😊
What a tune🎉🎉
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
very good ❤❤❤
❤❤❤
wow nice
So catchy old school 😊
One word:Brilliant 💡💎💡
a very cool tune 💥
❤ The new album is going to be great on this evidence:)
Still Great.
Beautiful, gents. But DO be careful out there!
FRESH BReAK ;;;;;!!!!!
I want to know where this is!
Vibberodden Lighthouse in Norway.
Where was the video shot??
Mustangs FTW
It's alright but you really have to let Euros be that third songwriter that Gerry was to give the band more, well some if we're honest, variety.
WFUV sent me here..
Good, but would be better with a decent & sharp producer to really bring out the best of the band's current output.
Agreed. Nice guitar tones and I dig the harmonies, but the drums sound kinda dull (although, imho, that dullness peaked with "Here").
I have to agree. There have been some great songs in there but the past four albums have all had the same dulled production and basically all the songs are at the same BPM with more or less the same drum beat.
Why is everyone so old now 😢
We're all old now. I first started digging these guys when I was 19, and now I'm 52. How the hell do you think that makes me feel? 😭
My favourite band yet I'm sorry to say that since Gerry left the band it has become bland and predictable. I continually come back hoping for a return to form but I can barely listen to the whole song any more.
Have to say I’m with you on that one. Vocals were never their strong point but now they are a harmonised lower register hum.
Wi’ you all the way. No Gerry Love. No Teenage Fanclub. And it pains me to say it.
Part of the problem is that, for some time, Gerry's songwriting was getting better and better while Norman and Raymond's was declining. He became the best songwriter in the band from Howdy onwards. I miss Gerry being in the band so much that I wrote a song about it 😆

@@lucasoheyze4597 tell you what mate. I'll give you that! I hope Gerry hears it
Somewhat tepid. I prefer other songs I've heard from the album.

‘Free from your one desire
When the tree becomes a fire’
Wish I had someone to dance with!
I'm glad they're still making music, but yeah I do get what you mean. Their earlier run of records, absolutely massive.
Good song but the drums are bland, no energy.
LOW T EFFORT LADS; TIME HAS NOT BEEN KIND? 😹👎🏽
Very underwhelming man. Since Gerry left its been a rapid descent. So sad to hear them sound so anaemic and dull😪
❤
