Michael, I’m sure life must seem difficult at times pursuing athletics and being a father, but just know you’re the luckiest man on earth to be able to do that. Not many can. Keep working hard. Wishing you nothing but success in your endeavors.
I'm a competitive runner here in NewZealand and also have a dairy farming job doing long hours 7 days a week, all the while having a beautiful wife and 2 daughters. I understand the struggle to get you miles in with such a busy life!
i love how your vids are way more chill and relaxed in terms of atmosphere, not trying to be uber motivational or putting on this tough persona, just KISS and staying genuie
Your work ethic is insane, mad respect to you to be able to stay disciplined to wake up early in the morning with that little sleep. Very inspiring man, wish you the best for your marathon build!
Love the humor, especially the outtakes/bloopers that are left in 😂. And the underlying content of watching an elite athlete train and perform is what keeps us coming back.
Not sure if you read your comments but you are such an inspiration to your viewers - managing a job, family, kids, and a hectic running schedule is crazy respect. You inspire me to hold myself accountable to my little goals I have and work relentless to it! All the best to your marathon prep! Will be watching your series :)
Absolutely admiring how you manage to deal with everything, you are an example for everyone. I have soooo many questions hahahaha will you do a Q&A video?
Haha I should go into more detail on this next time. But I’m awake at 5:00, out the door running at 5:15. Getting ready for the day is about 15 minutes from 6:30-6:45am. I don’t drink coffee. If I have the choice I go to bed around 9:00. But wife works later and I’ve had to help with the baby. So lately I’m getting to bed after 11:00 almost every night. Sometimes later - but it’s just the season of life with a newborn.
Hey Michael, rooting for you!! I'd like to make a suggestion that may or may not help you re: sleep. When my wife and I were at the infant stage, I also had a second full-time job similar to what running is for you. We adopted a shift-style sleep schedule where one parent went to bed very early and managed the early morning baby needs. The other managed the late night baby needs and slept in. That exact style may mot fit for you guys, but thinking outside the box (as in, we both have to go to bed together at the same time) really helped us through the newborn months. Good luck!
hi man how can I get some real track speed i feel like I have great endurance but I just can not hit the sub-5 pace even though I can run miles and miles.
Gotta spend time running faster - hard intervals and short anaerobic reps stuff. Sometimes if you want more speed, high volume could be holding you back as well if it’s high enough. But talk with a coach if you can!
Had an awesome time listening to your Life In Stride pod today, so getting a video on top is just gold! 🔥👏 Really great to see more of your training, would love to also see more of your nutrition, diet and strength training 🙏

Absolutely loved the chat with your coach. Refreshing to hear him say not every coach is the right coach, and to keep things simple in training.
Getting to run with those mountains is just so beautiful. I love the channel!

Props man, it’s not easy! Worth it, but not easy..
Come to Jesus

Just stumbled across your channel this morning. We are 2:15 into the video (also your marathon PB!) and well, I just hit the subscribe button!
Great stuff here! The coach / athlete conversation is gold. Keep that as a recurring element! 212xx incoming 🙌💯
I'm not a runner, but love your vlogs. You have a fun personality and outlook. Wishing you the best on your marathon journey. I'll be cheering you on.

What time do you wake up, go to sleep? How long does it take you to get ready in the morning to get out? Do you have coffee before you run?
