I’ve personally always found I play my best golf when I’m relaxed and tension free. Do you find the same thing?

Probably the most important topic in golf! Being tension free and having total freedom, is the feeling I embrace most of all.

Excellent demonstration on how to have a "tension free" golf swing! I try to adhere to what you are suggesting in this video! A "weaker grip, soft wrists, limber forearms, relaxed shoulders!" Doing this helps me to stay tension free! I know that if I violate any of these principles in making my swing, there will be ruinous results! I really like your suggested "lasso drill" Giles. I also like your suggestion of "not getting stationary" over the ball. Keep moving!!! If I do have a "trigger" to begin my takeaway, it's probably where my right palm is slightly pushing into my left thumb pad to begin to set the flat wrist! Well Don As Usual Giles! Keep up the good work!!!

Thanks for this reminder. Sometimes I have too many swing thoughts and causing me to be too tensed. I need to redevelop a pre-shot routine and incorporate the swing trigger as you recommended …Thanks again!

Love it. Was looking for a better trigger and an exercise to fix my tight grip and current tendonitis.

Im just starting my golf journey. This is really helpful as Im a typical beginner with tight arms and worrying about messing my shot up and stay too long standing staring at the ball !! Thankyou for this great video

Really enjoying your approach. Like especially today you talk about triggers. One question I have is in the setup. I’ve seen some methods where slightly more weight starts on the trail leg so that in the downswing the only way your weight can go is forward. My main problem is poor weight shift in my downswing causing fats and thins. I’d appreciate your thoughts on this. Many thanks 😊

Would never start with more weight on the trail leg. Do you remember what methods these were?

Also Don Trahan. Calls himself “surge from the back green driving range”. Promotes a right side heavy swing. All comments welcome 😊

Awesome video! When you say 5/10 grip pressure, is that a constant pressure throughout the entire swing? Or are you a little lighter on the backswing and then slightly tighter on down swing/impact? Thanks!

Gripping to club in the fingers is the key - surprised this wasn’t mentioned

Fingers provide a huge amount of grip pressure. Massive miss conception in golf.

@@Gilesgillgolf They do indeed but you can grip very hard with the fingers and not engage the tension in the forearms - a point well made by Hogan in the Modern Fundamentals

@@crispyduck1706 exactly that, hence why I focus more on the forearms

How about using word loose arms ( rather than relax arms will it be better word)
