Napier Grass A Boon For Bio-CNG Plants: Utkarsh Gupta, Founder, Gruner Renewable

Utkarsh Gupta is the founder Gruner Renewable Energy, an EPC player involved in setting up of bio-CNG plants in India. The firm is now set to start production of bio-CNG from Napier Grass and has become the first Indian company to do so. Its proposed a bio-CNG plant at Lasanpur village near Nagpur Nagpur, with a production capacity of 3 tonnes/day, is set to start production from November this year. In an exclusive interview with I Am Renew, Gupta talked about the importance of Napier Grass and the plans of the biofuel company.

Finaly good development for farmers. Much much better than growing sugar cane or Coconut farm or Maize.

I have sent WA got 50 pages of cash flow etc,as u r working at Hinganghaht nagpur. But when I asked some technical details,no response since 2 months. For your information , SGVP ahamadabad has yield of Napier grass 2000 MT/A, Their cost of unit installed on turn key at Hissar is 25 %less than whatever you, quote and estimated RM cost ,by you is almost double. I don't want to demoralize,but in competitive world you have to work hard.

A yield of 2000 MT per Acre? That is quite unbelievable. If we take five harvests per annum, each harvest would be of 400MT?!

I think with only bio cng ,40-50% returns only come,rest you have to generate from by selling manure
