This might be one of the greatest short documentaries on RUclips. This video, the images, the story telling, the emotion, all unfolded into a wonderful piece of art. I hope this gets recognized and wins a streamy award!!
I'm glad I found this channel with my return to the Pokemon TCG. Your Miraidon deck was cool and made it even more exciting with the announcement of the Miraidon ex League Battle Deck. The tabletop coverage over at Tricky Gym is very entertaining because it feels like I'm there at a local league. Keep up the good work.
i cant even imagine the feeling of standing on top of the world looking out over everything, knowing that you made that journey up there on your own two feet. That's awesome man. Going to Japan has been a long time dream of mine and i hope to go with my family someday when my kids are a little older. From my family to yours, God bless and thank you for sharing your amazing experience with the rest of us!
Amazing documenting! When I started to play the game, you were one of the most crucial & important moments of my early career. Your videos helped me to become the player who I am right now. I met you in WCS 2016 San Francisco, it was raining and windy like crazy and I was shaking for asking you for a picture. I save that picture like gold, because I will never forget which people helped me to the process to improve as a player. Today I'm proud to say we are good friends! Watching you enjoying life & getting success in this video it made me tears up. THANK YOU so much Andrew Mahone! You make other people happier in their daily life, you have the best job in the world, and you are the best on it. Hope to see you again in a future tournament to give you a big hug. Pedro E Torres
You have been very inspiring to me Andrew. You were one of the reasons of why I started to play in the Pokémon TCG competitively. I am trying to go to worlds this year and have 92 cp out of 450 cp. I also remember seeing you from SLC regional in the 2021 season. Thank you for being the reason to make me want to play the game. I hope I can see you in another regional soon. I am going to Sacramento for my next one.
Great vid! Just wanted to say thanks for what you do in this community. My gf has played Pokemon with me out of pity for a couple years as a casual gamenight game every month or so. but once I decided to suggest GLC format and make decks, and she familiarized herself with having more cards than rinse and repeat standard/expanded decks, it's become a weekend staple to play our randomly selected GLC decks (we're up to 12 now 😂) for hours every weekend! Also ahh what is the song at 6:20! It's on the tip of my tongue
What an amazing video documenting your journey. I really appreciate all the love and time you put into it. Just watching it was an awesome experience, thank you!
Beautiful video, thanks for sharing your experience Andrew, watching this late into the night in the UK and it has reignited my ambition to get out and see more of the world with those I love. ❤
Beautiful video Andrew. Your content is truly an inspiration to me. I’ve been a full time content creator for 3 years, and I always find myself excited for your new videos. I’ve always wanted to visit Japan, and one day I will ( now I have to add hiking mt Fuji to to that list! ) and it was a joy to get to experience it through your video. Maybe I’ll make it to Hawaii this year. Thank for the great content, and the constant inspiration, from one creator to another.
What a wonderful video. You really are a superb content creator. Heartfelt, informative and entertaining, with excellent editing throughout. Thank you, and congratulations again. ❤️
I can say that your channel brings me entertainment and joy, and I can't express how much grateful I am for that. Seeing this vlog about your life and you having such a blessed time with your closest mates just brought a smile upon my face. God bless y'all! Greetings from Brazil :)
Was halfway through the video when I paused and checked out the tag team podcast where you said you cried during editing, that shit hit me, then I finished this video and the whole fuji part hit me like a truck. Truly emotional and beautiful. I’ve been into the tcg for a little over a year and traveled to many events so far and the friends that I have made and the memories that I have with the same friends I’ve made through this hobby are memories I will keep with me for the rest of my life. Thank you for this wonderful video. I can’t wait to see more. And congratulations again on your amazing performance at worlds. Much love
Absolutely incredible ❤ had some chuckles in there but the heart and passion came through the most. So happy to be a supporter in many ways and I can't wait to see whats to come in the future
One of the most beautiful videos I've seen in a LONG TIME. Just started getting into physically pokemon cards after some rough years of VGC. Lost almost all my friends to the chaos of COVID. Found your channel shortly after Donald disappeared and I'm very glad I have. Keep up the good work Mahone, you're doing a phenomenal job. ❤
This is one of the best videos I’ve seen on RUclips, loved hearing about your story and connection with Japan and also your journey to Mount Fuji. I myself have always wondered what it was like and I’m really happy for you guys that you got to experience it! Keep killing it my man and it was an honour meeting you in Japan too! 😊
The Fuji hike sounds a lot like a guided mountaineering experience (or at least what my experience climbing Mt Rainier was like). The videos you got from the summit were incredible! Happy for you that you got this experience
This was one of the first videos I have watched of yours and it definitely won’t be the last. I loved this so much! Pokémon really is more than just Pokemon and I think that you were able to show exactly what it means through this video. The storytelling, music and key moments were perfect. Thank you for sharing part of your journey with us 💜
Beautiful vlog Andrew. I never thought of climbin Mt. Fuji that might be something I'd like to try when I return to Japan. It was a pleasure meeting you in day 1 of worlds!
With world's in Hawaii next year, it is so tempting to make a return back to Japan! You've inspired me to look into hiking into Fuji myself. Amazing content as usual!
Missed your vlogs soo much man. I still remember ur old vlogs from those past regionals. But the quality now has become so much better. The way u document everything just feels so entertaining to watch. Enjoyed it soooo much❤❤
I rarely comment on videos, but with this one I just can't help myself. The whole video, the impressions, the hobby, your success, the family insights and the whole calm and relaxing atmosphere of the video make this one of the best videos of the year I have seen on RUclips. Good luck for the future and best wishes from Germany.
New subscriber, I’ve watched a lot of worlds vlogs and this is by far the best one I’ve seen. Made me feel like I was actually there! Thanks for taking us along for the ride!!!!!!!! Edit: Congrats on competition as well! Your excitement is contagious 😊
What a cool experience! I found your channel a few months ago when I got into PTCG for the first time since I was a kid and I'm so glad I did. Your content is incredible! My wife and I have been playing GLC decks together and having a blast. I haven't even built a standard deck yet because GLC has been so much fun! Keep up the amazing work. You make me want to move to Ohio to play at your store and I don't even want to live in Ohio 😆
Absolutely a banger watch! Glad you had an amazing trip Andrew! Watching the Fuji hike throws me back to mine and it's an absolutely awe inspiring and life changing experience. You and Riley looked like you guys had a blast on the way up, absolutely love it
Came to watch cards. Finished wanting a “Cheese 10 yen coin thing”, and a pressing desire to climb Mt.Fuji. 🤷🏻♂️ Awesome vid Andrew! Congrats on making top 32 🎉🤘🏼
I started playing again after a long break, and picked up Miraidon. So happy to see the deck can perform event at the highest level. Really appreciate this short documentary. I felt in love with the country after my first visit 18 years ago, and have been there at lease once every year after. So sad I missed out this years Worlds with only two weeks, seeing the whole airport was gearing up while I was waiting for my flight back home. Lets hope we will get more events in Japan in the future:)
You did such an amazing job with this! Glad you had a great time in Japan, and it was cool to hear the story about going to Showa Koen as a kid and coming back to see the same dragons still there.
Really stunning footage Andrew, this has really inspired my girlfriend and I to start planning a trip to Japan in the future. Great video, keep up all your hard work!
What a beautiful video. I lived in Japan and have been back several time since but never climbed Mt Fuji. I feel like I have to after seeing your video.
This was incredible man 😭 I never knew until right now that I wanna hike Mt. Fuji! Whether intentional or not, you portrayed how Pokémon is both a huge aspect and a very small aspect of life. God is good brotha 🤘🏾
This was amazing Andrew thanks for sharing, I clicked on the video because of the ptcg but definitely stayed for the mesmerizing second half of the video
that was one of the best travel vlogs i have ever watched! I didn't know i needed to experience sunrise at Mount Fuji but now its time to add that to the bucket list for sure! i cant imagine the surreal Experience that must be.
First time was this video. I never cried so much about the beauty of Japan. The fun. The excitement. The people. SUCH a beautiful video. I didn't know you were a Christian. Good for you. I wished I could have gone. I would have visited Kyoto and Nintendo HQ. AND NOW I WANT TO HIKE MT FUJI AND SOMETHING RELAXING LIKE ENJOY NATURE. TEA CEREMONIES. SOMETHING LIKE THAT. EVER SINCE I WAS A KID.. I WANTED TO LIVE IN JAPAN.
I’ve watched an anime called Encouragement of Climb. They took the same path as y’all did going up to the 7th Station. It’s so cool that you guys were able to experience that climb!
Hi mate! Awesome video and I got a chance to meet and say hello to you during worlds as well! Just a quick one on this wholesome video, I would suggest another thumbnail just because it is showing the "rising sun flag" which some Asian viewers might find offensive. The flag was used during Japan's wartime expansion into countries like Korea, China and other Asian countries. Just a heads up :)
