Smilodon Populator is not found in the La Brea Tar Pits. Populator is found in South America. Smilodon Populator translates to “Knife Tooth Destroyer” , and is the largest Smilodon species.
@@HappyHenToys Smilodon is most commonly referred to as the sabre-toothed "tiger", however it wasn't a tiger, or even closely related to tigers, or even closely related to any living cat! There are 2 living subfamilies of cats, Pantherinae and Felinae. Smilodon, however belonged to a now extinct subfamily, called Machairodontinae. Both living cat subfamilies are more closely related to one another than to Machairodontinae.
smilodon was not a big cat it was a saber-toothed cat aka machairodontinae big cats are in Pantherinae and are more closely related small cats aka Felinae but all three are in felidae the true cats just wanted to let you guys know ^^
You should have mentioned that there are three different color variants of the Rebor figure, which gives the buyer some nice options to choose from, a another important factor for collectors to choose which smilodon to purchase But great vid you guys 👏
Yes, that was an omission on my part. We did not have those two models in stock and I forgot to mention that they did in fact exist. I wish we still had some as those are just as beautiful as the one we did review. Thanks for pointing that out!
We were in the studio last weekend and we discussed getting them on the schedule. We are probably going to wait until we get the new releases, but we want to work them in. Thanks for watching and the feedback !
Sounds like a discussion you will have to have with Jorge directly. We want to do an Ice Age Livestream Q&A at some point. Hopefully you can join and clarify your viewpoint.
@@HappyHenToys I can share my references, this has been a common issue with all Smilodon figures ( not just Rebor). Too date, none available on the market accurately follow Smilodon preportions, with David Silva's upcoming Cyborzoic Smilodon being the only accurate Smilodon on the market
Great show keep them coming!
Thank you for the kind words of encouragement! It really does help keep me motivated.

You have exceeded my smilodon knowledge. We need to get another livestream going so you can ask Jorge directly.

This I'm not sure of - but many of your comments make me think (more than I would like sometimes LOL). Keep them coming.

Could you cover Beasts Of The Mesozoic!
We will when applicable. BOM does not have a Smilodon figure so could not be included in this video. Thanks for watching!
@@HappyHenToys Of course, but a video going through the other BOTM models you have in stock would be much appreciated.

All good design 👍
Across the board, these all are pretty solid figures. I personally do not like the thick teeth on some of the models (as pointed out in the video.
Create with clouded leopard patterns
There are a few with a rosette pattern, but yes there should be more. Thanks for watching!
Papo roaring smilodon call it Leo smilus AKA modern smilodon
That is a wicked smile tho - Thanks for watchng.
Rebor’s is the best imo
We agree - that thing is an awesome "monster sized" figure. I wish it scaled better with the other figures though. Thanks for watching!
The Rebor one is actually completely wrong
How so?
@@HappyHenToys Preportions are completely off ,as with almost every other Smilodon on the market
