- During these crazy times with all that is going on in the world what a better way to spend the shut in time than making music with friends!
I was super stoked to get to have Kc Marotta lay down some awesome drum tracks over this jam I've been writing around! Super fun!

Hello, thanks for your videos, I have a question to buy a microphone and I see that you have experience in these microphones, rode nt1 (black) vs nt2a, I do not care about the polar patterns or pad of the nt2, I will only use cardioid, but strictly adjusting to the sound quality you see best. Which gives you more sound quality, which would you buy for you?
Please
Hey! Thanks for your comment! I used the NT2 for my main vocal chain for a long time. Most of the time on vocals it was in cardioid. I still think it was superior to the NT1! It had better transient response. However, the NT1 is great tho as well!

This is what I tell people. If you already have a solid audio interface I would pick up the NT2 because one it is a little bit better than the NT1 and it also has polar patterns, you’d be surprised how handy those come if you ever end up recording any other instruments. However, if you’re on a budget, save a bit of money on your microphone and invest in acoustic treatment for the room you’re recording in. You can have a $2000 microphone that will sound bad in an untreated room. So spend some money either on acoustic panels or diy make some! There’s not gonna a super drastic quality difference in either. It will be fairy subtle.
