This day in history: Kodak Gold 120 and Cinestill 400 Dynamic were released making March 21st 2022 the single most exciting day for the film community in the last two decades.
It's just Vision 3 250d with rem-jet removed, no??? I appreciate the addition of a "new" film stock to shoot but when you're just buying motion picture film in bulk and then removing the rem-jet from something that Kodak STILL has to produce you're not solving any supply chain issues. All you're doing is asking a passionate community of artists and hobbyists to give you money for something your facilities should already be capable of. What are you using the money from this ""film maker"" campaign for exactly? CineStill will unfortunately not be a meaningful alternative to Kodak until they actually formulate their own color emulsion and produce it in house. This marketing is very deceptive and I wish they wouldn't sell themselves as some sort of alternative when they are deeply dependent on what is essentially the only major film manufacturer left.
Ordered an "Early Bird" roll - will order a few more for the summer when we've got a few more coppers in the bank. I'm of the opinion that Cinestill's film stocks are contract manufactured instead of simply being modified Vision3 stock - the dead giveaway is the square, still-photography sprocket holes, instead of the more rounded Bell & Howell cine sprockets. The Cinestill specific edge markings and the lack of Keykode barcodes is another clue.
Film is back. If you go to church, you'll most likely learn a true lesson: • NOTHING IS NEW UNDER THE SUN. • WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND That comes from going to church as a Lutheran, Dutch Reformed and a Mormon. Film was popular starting from the invention of the camera (1820s) to the early-to-mid 1990s when digital cameras became popular. Film then went out of style because of increased popularity of digital cameras with much advanced yet easy-to-use features (don't worry, digital photography is still popular today). 20-25 years later film is back in style and better than ever. Now, along with film, digital is also getting better with more styles and options to choose from: • Point-and-shoot (compact) • DSLR • Mirrorless Film and digital are the best and will never go out of style even though cellular photography has evolved tremendously. In other words, even with the rise of cell phone technology, film and digital are much better than cellular photography and offers more features with a more creative and professional approach. Thank God for both options to choose from (you can do one or the other or maybe even both). Film and digital photos will forever hold a place in my heart til the day I die. Greetings from USA.
Cinestill….. it is NOT new. You are repackage Kodak cinema films. As for removing the remjet….I doubt it and just buy master rolls without remjet. Hence why you want people to buy into the “new” product….so you know you can sell a master roll. Stop telling everyone you have a new film….. it is not correct. You keep selling the story that Cinestill are the hero’s of the film community. You are NOT… your products are over priced and actually just trivial films…. Sorry if that hurts…. But gas stations at night are so….ah…..pathetically passé
Cine still should make positive film!!! Positive film is dying. The only two left is Kodak Ektachrome E100 and Fujichrome F100. Cinechrome 100 would be great !!!
Really wanted to support .. but shipping to germany is 20€ :( is there any other option via photo stores or for Europe to order them for cheaper shipping?
God, please, no, don't do that again ! Not after your 2015 800t in 120 -campaign that I backed up ! - and that shameless "we've reached our goal now please back up some more so we can introduce 50d in 4x5 and THEN in 120". We all knew you'd have to release the 120 version anyway - and where's the 4x5 version ??? Now you've got a broader audience for sure, you've got sales, much more than 2015. The day Kodak would sell Portra 160/400 at the 800t price they would be blasted on social media. But you, no, probably never. So assume your status, find real investors - but I bet you got them already - and don't lure you audience by turning a kickstarter campaign into a cry for help when you just want your order book to be filled.
"400Dynamic is a fine grain film that will deliver a soft color palette with natural saturated color and rich, warm skin tones." Sounds like a possible direct competitor to Portra 400? If it can hold up to the professional quality of Portra at a slightly lower price point then I'm definitely interested. Otherwise it's going to be just like Kodak's Gold announcement today-interesting, novel, but not really offering what I need.
I don't think there's any Cinestill product out there that's "slightly lower" in price than the competitors. From films to accessories to chemicals. I remember their 2015 campaign. I paid around 10€ for the 800t in 120. Then, in stores, online or not, it has always been available for 13€ - more than less unfortunately. Now if they start at 15$ for an early bird roll that won't be cheaper than any Portra when you'll find that 400d in stores. But marketing magic, they could sell that at Kono's stupidly high price (20€!) and people would still buy it.
Where were you when I push film back in 2009 on Facebook, when my brother& I took a shot with a Leica at the 6th Bridge in Boyle Heights? Like my brother would say, film is not dead. My buddies and I used to go for Photowalks before they were the Los Angeles Art District. Admin Frank Miranda-
2:07 - "To make film more accessible to everyone" Ah yes, that's why you sell the most expensive color film on the market right? Who are you even trying to fool lol
No doubt it will be stupidly expensive but all the well healed hipsters will run out and buy up the available stock so they can take more shit photographs.
I’m wondering what film it originally was, I think it might be re packaged Kodak 250d with the remjet layer removed and just branded it as a 400iso speed film so everyone will be pushing it just like how Cinestill800t is kodak 500t but remjet is removed and brand it as 800iso. Really pumped to try it out.
let’s goooo! I’m glad i jumped to film photography at 2019 and i immediately fell in love back then, now the industry is growing so much ! Can’t be more excited than now!
Thank you for creating new products!!! You heard a calling and you answered it!!! I’m going to be ordering some of your products soon!!! I’ve also subscribed to your channel for the lates updates!!!
Hell yeah film photography is awesome. However, I will stay true to both Kodak and Fujifilm since the Fujifilm Velvia 50 and Fujicolor offers vivid, colorful images. Film and digital are the best and serves as my specialty. Man, I love photography.
Looking forward to testing this out once in lands in Taiwan! Would love to share some of my experiences of it on my channel for the world to see Taiwan through cinestill 400D! Love to the film community x

When can we get a slide film similar to Ektachrome but at a much lower price? I hope it becomes a reality.
Cine still should make positive film!!! Positive film is dying. The only two left is Kodak Ektachrome E100 and Fujichrome F100. Cinechrome 100 would be great !!!
Damn, CineStill, you might be my favorite company ever as I can feel how passionate you are about film. Lets do this!
Grainydays is gonna have a blast with this one
Yeah baby! Bring it on! My shutter is itchy.
Really wanted to support .. but shipping to germany is 20€ :( is there any other option via photo stores or for Europe to order them for cheaper shipping?
Fotoimpex
Is this a completely new film or just some rebadged stuff. Because if they really did this on film on their own this is huuuge news
You said you want to make film more accessible, make it cheaper than I can bulk roll 500t, Or even better bulk kentmere400. Price is everything.
God, please, no, don't do that again ! the website y'all got in the desc is wrong, got me confused as hell 😭

The new gold is cheaper though and it does look more saturated than porta.
just go out and enjoy it

Wohooo I can’t wait to try it. So is this 250D without the ram jet layer?
Exactly what I was thinking… vision 3 250D…
@@buchsg yup 👍🏻 it’s gotta be. Looks like it too.
I see halation in Cinestill's example photos, so this is extremely likely
send some to South Africa 🇿🇦
If this is reversal film then it will be perfectly :)
All great but delivery is more expensive than the film itself if you’re in the UK
WOOOOOOO
It would help the community to reduce the price. It is getting really hard to bear.

What a day! 2 new films?! Am I dreaming?!
As Gwen Stefani would say, "what you waiting for! Tick Tock Tick Tock"
Guys, I love your commercial! Anyway, do you plan any interesting motion picture film, too?
Ordered! Exciting to see what this is capable of! That Self-portrait sitting in the window curtain sold me.
2:07 - "To make film more accessible to everyone" Ah yes, that's why you sell the most expensive color film on the market right? Who are you even trying to fool lol
It seems like a great color film but $15….tbh I would still buy a lomo400 instead
Film is here to stay? Man, I hope you’re right. Tell Fujifilm, please.
I've never tried any Cinestill Film but soon i will get some love from Pakistan 🇵🇰
No doubt it will be stupidly expensive but all the well healed hipsters will run out and buy up the available stock so they can take more shit photographs.
unless you’re 30 and under maybe then in no way is film “back and better than ever” lmao
Please make it available, and affordable 🙏 At least cheaper than Portra 400 😅
SOOOO AWESOME!!!!! I definitely can’t wait to get my hands on some 120 stock!!!!!!🙌🔥🙌🔥🙌🔥📸🎞📸🎞📸🎞
Innovation in colour film is fantastic these days. Thank you for this investment, it really is saving an entire art form.
