Gary and Mary I'm so sorry for your loss I pray that the Lord will comfort and strengthen you as you. Celebrate every day you had with your Precious baby girl cherish every smile God bless you 🙏 💖 💕
The water here in the farm field where the stand water they put plastic tile to hole the water cover and let grown crop open then is no hole or pond with out the water it hole the water went there is stand it let out went dry up
Hi Gary I feel so bad that you have to go through all this. I have no doubt that you two will make that land beautiful. Low lands always get flooded but you're doing a great job cleaning it out. I'm praying for you both. You got this. Hopefully you won't get more rain and it will dry up some.
I like the new intro! Hey Mary, as Ken Kesey once said “ you can’t mess with it without gettin a little on ya “. It’s good to see you all making good decisions and staying positive. All the best!
If your land has a 5ft rock ledge under it, you'll be advised by everyone to use posts. It makes shipping container building very attractive for cost(4 pillars per container)
I remember my Daddy using a shovel and dredging the ditches on our place about every 5years. You left out one thang Gary, you do need big tools 🛠️ for big equipment, but, you also need the knowledge of what to do with the tools 🧰 too, LOL😂 . Thankfully you have both, tools ⚒️ and knowledge! Great camera 📸 work Mary ! You could see that water flowing just like we were standing there! Y’all going to have the drainage problem solved soon and you know what it needs if it starts flooding again! 🚜
Name that backhoe Big Steady !!! She’s a rockstar. Sending you lots of love and support for the new year. And prayers for healing y’all’s hearts in your time of loss. 🙏🕊️❤️
Hi Gary, Mary and Miss Miley, that backhoe is fantastic at getting projects done with especially your drainage. Good luck guys wish you all the best. Would like to wish you a Happy New Year and Good Luck moving forward. 🎄🎄🇨🇦
I’m originally from Central Indiana, farm country. Drainage Tiles are used throughout my area so the ground can be farmed. Once a system is installed it works wonders. Took a low lying swamp prone County and turned it into dry fertile ground. Suitable for farming and buildings.
❤ At least you know it's flowing away from you're property and can be made better. It's a shame that the country couldn't bring you 3 12 inch Culverts and some gravel so you could dig a few ditches across the road to get the water to the other side of the road.
From the internet:Eucalyptus trees can be quite effective at draining a swamp due to their rapid growth and high water consumption, meaning they can absorb large amounts of moisture from the soil and evaporate it through their leaves, effectively lowering the water level in swampy areas; however, their use can be controversial due to potential negative ecological impacts like disrupting local ecosystems and depleting water sources in the area if planted in large quantities.
With all the trees and vegetation you have cleared, it's going to take a few good rains to settle the property. Once it is finally settled you will have a better idea of how to deal with the water runoff. Keep up the good work!
You are amazing! I know you are going to make the lay of the land right. May your watchers send good energy to you all and may it give you strength in what you are doing. Bless the jems that you continue to polish. The potential is endless! HNY(2025)
Gary & Mary remain encouraged and keep pressing towards your dreams, things don't always happen as quickly as we'd like the bible says, we will reap in due season....if we faint not. 🙏
ya'll should do a maintenance vid on the back hoe. fueling, checking lvls, grease fittings etc.its a big change from a little tractor like how much everything has lvl wise etc.
It's working primarily because it quit raining. They'll have to wait until the next time it rains for a few days in a row to know how well what they've done so far will work. I'm happy that they have some drainage now though. A few more days of constant rain and they would have been in serious trouble. The backhoe has certainly proven to be a much needed piece of equipment for them, so I'm glad they have it.
@@MarRg-j7o I commented on the 4 inch PVC pipe too. I get the whole DIY whatcha hafta to get by thing, but there are some things you're just better off biting the bullet on and doing the right way.
High density polyethylene pipe is used for constructing culverts here in the uk and throughout the world building technology has moved on , pvc can be used , as a cheaper alternative and will last for years.
I think a lot of positive things are going to be happening in your future. You may have to wait for a couple of months to experience what I see happening !!!!
Now that you are digging the ditch deeper, can you dig a trench from your pond to the ditch, to allow it to constantly drain? That would help year around.
Is that an actual public road or is it a private drive? Give Gary’s explanation that it was a logging access path, it’s probably a private access road and is the responsibility of the owners that use it. Luckily, Gary has the right tool for the job!
@ I don’t know if it’s a private road or not but like you said it’s good that Gary has the right equipment to get the ditch cleaned out so the water will drain off
Private road the owners are responsible for their own maintenance. If he had put culverts under his driveways most of the problem wouldn't have occurred.
It is good when you do right. No real tax on that. You will prosper and be paid with respect. In some manner that can be worth more than money." YOU BOTH ROCK!!
What a difference it made after it stopped raining and saw what you did ..AWESOME ..its all falling into place.. 2025 is going to be a great NEW YEAR FOR THE 3 OF YOU🎉🎊GOD BLESS AND THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT VIDEO..REALLY ENJOY THEM.
Thanks for the info Gary. I sure didn't mean anything harmful, I was just a little worried about y'all. I have faith in you. You will get it taken care of!❤
I'd rather have older equipment that's been maintained than a new one cause they just don't last and hose O rings/seals can also be gotten at a place that repairs and builds pressure hoses cause they all are built the same in the hose area .
Yes, I was thinking those paths were from loggers. Digging out the ditches making them deep will help you all out alot. Plus the dirt will help w the road. Awesome Gary you have the know how to make it happen w that back hoe. I never learned how to run a back hoe, just tractors. ❤❤ Guess you all will be cleaning up all the ditches so the others can get to their property. ❤❤
Ummm lol sorry but I do have a question: Is that rd maintained by a government? If so, I watch out doing such a thing digging without permission, no hate here, but you don't wanna be responsible for this .❤
Gary explained in the video it is a private access put in by the logging company to access the logs on the property the logging company owns. It is not a county gazetted road.
Hi 👋 Amazing coordination with the Bucket...Not your first rodeo!!! The perspective from the Backhoe looks like the ditch was built by dumping the dirt right next to it creating a Berm between the Lots(Land) and the ditch. In this old Farts opinion....it looks like punching holes through the Berm would let more water out... You are doing a fantastic job doing the maintenance that hasn't been done for decades... Go Team Go...😊 You need to bill the County for your work... (Good Luck with That)
Gary and Mary I'm so sorry for your loss I pray that the Lord will comfort and strengthen you as you. Celebrate every day you had with your Precious baby girl cherish every smile God bless you 🙏 💖 💕
You may want to consider some tile to direct the water to your ditches and at the pond.
You should take the dirt you dug out of the ditch and built up your yard with it
@@walterferguson9323 I was thinking the same thing about using the dirt to build up the low spots on the property
He does repurpose the soil.
Hi guys it’s good you’ve got back ho to help out ✅
Your depth of knowledge on the heavy equipment is wonderful. Great job on the water situation. You guys work so hard.
Im so sorry for your loss and she was a beautiful girl ❤😢. Hope making the ditch wider helps 💗

Gary's always working on something and fixing something. He's one busy guy.

Mary you are so talented. The intro was beautiful and everything you do at the homestead is awesome!
🙋 Hi guy's 👋
A man with skills to fix things is a blessing.
Great idea to go more on your property wider the better. Great job guy's

Y'all might look into tiling for added drainage.

Wow you got that tractor just in time for the rain.
Happy New Years to you all. May 2025 bring you all much happiness & prosperity. ❤❤
There is something so relaxing watching you work with that backhoe😁Have a safe and happy new year🎉
Happy new year I knew Gary would figure out something concerning water
❤ At least you know it's flowing away from you're property and can be made better.
It's a shame that the country couldn't bring you 3 12 inch Culverts and some gravel so you could dig a few ditches across the road to get the water to the other side of the road.
You may have to dig a ditch on your property to drain the water to the road ditch. We both know flat lands Florida and Texas! It is what it is!

It’s working because it is now beginning to shed off your land. Just be thankful for the people that did give advice. Don’t count them short.

Now that you are digging the ditch deeper, can you dig a trench from your pond to the ditch, to allow it to constantly drain? That would help year around.
Gary it’s bad when you have to do your own road and ditch maintenance and pay taxes for your own work
Is that an actual public road or is it a private drive?
Give Gary’s explanation that it was a logging access path, it’s probably a private access road and is the responsibility of the owners that use it.

It's a private road that the county has nothing to do with, so it's up to those who live on the road to maintain it.
Good plan !!!!
