    The "magic" is a glue and silicone mixture. I know this because my dad works at the company who invented this and also invented silly putty, the company is called Dow, but basically the reason the homemade kinetic sand isn't the same is because the glue they use on the retail has just the absolute perfect amount of silicone in it to make it sticky but not too sticky

      In fact it's almost impossible to do real magic sand at home. The process involves sticking a polymer all around each grain of sand. This polymer enables grains to form bonds when pressed and detached when under the influence of other forces (like gravity when you let the sand slowly fall)

    For those of you are calling this "stupid", first think of what you say, many people read the comments and what you say is read by many people.
    For those of you who are misunderstanding why she is talking so softly, it is because this is an ASMR video ( Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response ) they're made to relax you. But for those of you who have been saying mean things, would you like to be called that in your videos? At least put it as a kind suggestion, I'm not try to be defensive about it, but based on the immense amount of people who have been commenting mean things really hit me, I'm just trying to make a statement.

    • @traceykate
      @traceykate 9 лет назад

      Marsha Jones for quicksand it has to be extremely deep and have plenty of water and the sand has to be more powder like with a constant flow, quicksand as a rule, especially when shown in films, is not easy to find and doesn't suck you down as quick as they show. Hope that helps hun x

    I intended to just watch a small bit of this video, but I watched the entire thing; it was very interesting and relaxing! I love how you had all of your tools ready but off camera, how there were no cuts in between tools, and how well it played out. My only criticism was that the crunching sound when cuting/shaping was a little rough, but amazing video! Could you do a whole video where you write in the sand? That was actually my favorite part, it was so relaxing and had an amazing and subtle sound to it!

    This stuff is pretty damn fun to mess with. I bought a 2 pounds of it the other day (I figured the 2% magic was some sort of polymer, which it is; Silly Putty) and it is very therapeutic. Since I'm semi working on an ASMR channel myself, I think I'd feature this stuff and some of those magnetic bbs like Buckyballs (yes I know about the CSPC's rampage against it here in the States but screw that noise) and the only remaining vendor is ZenMagnets so I think I might pick up some here before too long for my upcoming channel.

    This stuff is so much fun. I was just on amazon.com thinking I would buy some and then it occurred to me that there was very likely ASMR videos with it and I was like OH HELL YEAH.

    Nice video ^^ from the comments here, it looks like this served as an "intro to ASMR" for a lot of people!

    This makes me fall asleep every time, so when I couldn't sleep from the pain of my new braces I turned to this. Didn't work, I'm disappointed.
