GM Annette, I agree that that woman was jealous and envious of your beauty. Obviously, she’s a miserable person. I am an African American woman who lives in the USA. Unfortunately, I have experienced racism too often. It’s happened so often that I recognize what’s going on very soon. I confront them whenever it happens. So sorry you experienced it, it’s a bad feeling. Much love to Slavi for staying with you. He’s a great man/husband and father. God bless you and your beautiful family! Much love❤️🙏🏽

I dealt with a similar situation. You’re beautiful & black, some people can’t stand that aka jealousy. That was an envious “stare”. I know it’s against our better judgement to not make a scene BUT this is what works. The first sign of disrespect was stalling with your documents then she tried to only let your husband and son in. Your husband did the absolute right thing by voicing he’s staying with you. Always speak firmly, directly and point out the wrong doings and that’s what does the trick. I’m sorry that you had to experience this. Trust me, they don’t think you’re going to blow up the place, they actually admire you. I’m black with a biracial daughter and unfortunately have to deal with this nonsense. Don’t be upset, instead understand that she’s unfortunately full of hate but that isn’t your problem.

I agree totally, speak up to tell them and not allow them to treat you unfairly . That’s a very unfair inhumane treatment you have experienced . So sorry.
I have experienced this before too and recently I experienced this in Germany on my way driving to Austria . Almost reaching the border by car to Austria , the civilian police pulled me aside with their siren . I was shocked but obediently followed . They introduced themselves as from this State ( won’t mention it ) in Germany near the border , and I gladly told them which German State I came from. They asked for my papers and I had everything. I quickly questioned why they picked on me amongst all the cars on the motorway . They didn’t respond well and I bluntly told them , it’s all because of my skin color that they pulled me aside , they said no no no continuously. I insisted that I was right . They had no good reason , they asked if they could open my car boot and I said go ahead but there is nothing to hide , what are you searching for ? Look at me ,do I look like …... I only had a little suitcase, a bouquet 💐, traveling to visit my sister who had birthday on that day I would arrive.
I became so loud to them saying they were racist picking me out from the line of cars like that . I could see they were shocked that I knew what they thought . I was right it was because of my skin color but they could not admit it.
I was so furious and this experience bothered me for weeks. I got home safe thank God .
I do not know why they spoke English to me instead of German language. Maybe because I was driving alone and of course my skin color ? We would never know what goes on people’s heads.
I had everything they wanted to see and they found no fault, so why the stop , a terrible experience I had . I confirmed later on with somebody I know that it is true that they do that by purpose to pick on us black people because of past experiences.
But there are so many with their skin color driving either illegal things or illegally and they are too blind to pick on their own people .
My experience was last year few months ago and I had forgotten about it . But your experience made me so outrageous thatI remembered mine and wanted to also share it . I don’t experience a lot of this here though . But one experience as such never goes away easily . I pray for peace in our hearts , in your heart especially because you are carrying a beautiful innocent one in you . Blessings 🥰🙏🏽

I had a family member who was held for a week like a criminal with genuine documents and her husband was informed to leave he refused and as a result he was held for a week in an appalling condition. It was to date the worst of experience of my life. I thought I would never see my loved one again. I still have traumatizing flashbacks of that time just over a year ago. After that experience we heard of business people, medical doctors, people with legal documents, and pregnant women about to give birth held for weeks in some kind of detention center. That woman discriminated against you which is probably in violation of the airline’s policy. This was a micro aggression, a malicious employee trying to exert power over you. She had no right to do that. If you have Twitter or Instagram, send them a succinct message. She should not have treated you like that. Once your documents were checked, you should have been allowed to board. If everyone complained about these rogue airline workers, they would be forced to treat all passengers equally, fairly and respectfully. I’m sorry you experienced that nonsense in front of your husband and son. Make a formal complaint.

Sorry to hear about your terrible experience. It feels terrible but what works is to report it right away so that an investigation is started. You have social media presence so telling your story is a great start. The airline needs to reach out to you for the humilation, distress it caused you and your family due to an incompetent employee. You cant pay your money and be mistreated like that. I always call it out and a few years ago threw a fit in amesterdam on a flight to the US when I noticed I was the only one being told to remove my mask to see my face as we boarded and no other person was being told to. I chewed that lady out right there and she turned all red and s***. Everyone got uncomfortable and were "maming me stupid." They realized they had landed on the wrong one.I got home, wrote to the airline and made a big fuss. So you cant pay your money and accept to be treated poorly. We must leave this world a better place for our children and their children and that's always in my thoughts. All the best❤

Ask people around you to video tape the situation and always throw in how you will be contacting your lawyer. You are right. Racism is everywhere. I went to Uganda with my two Senior sisters and my nephew. We all live in the Uk. On arrival at Entebbe Airport we had to lineup to check our passports. We were also in front but this woman took our British passports kept looking at them checking one page after the other and told us to stand aside. She started checking other people behind us. We were ignored for hours and people started to complain. There was nothing wrong with our passports. When we demanded to see the 😊management she then let us go through. This experienced was a worst nightmare especially if you have been on a flight you want to reach quickly your destination. This situation with Ugandans living abroad is concerning and very bad. The occupation of Rwandese in Uganda is very damaging. We were treated so badly and I had to confront the woman until she said that her “hands were tied” meaning she had to do as she is told. Many people in the queue were already getting concerned and asking why we were told to stand aside with valid passports . Racism in Uganda by black Tutsi people occupying Uganda illegally is very very bad and this has to be addressed internationally.. Being Ugandans in the Uk does not prevent us visiting our country of origin and who on earth has told Rwandese that they are Ugandans? You have to experience racism to know what we are talking about because for me I have experienced racism but I am not racist. Racism is everywhere but in some countries they put a bald face for you to think everything is ok. I am sorry that the woman made you stand there for an hour especially in the circumstances that you are expectant. I think she was jealousy but not a kind woman. Also from where I sit watching the world for my 62 years, there has been way more concerns about terr..ism with persons from that region than black Africans. I'm glad you maintained your dignity and not let her drag you into a state to give her reasons to say you're a threat. It's good to hear your story on the social media because I'm sure her employers will not feel good about the image she's painted of her people.

Actually Turkish people are white. They are literally around the Caucasus region where the term "Caucasian" is gotten from. Just cos they have a different culture or might physically look different from north/western Europeans (which is not always the case cos there literally blonde haired blue eyed Turkish people, not all of them are dark haired brown eyes). It doesn't make them any less white. Obviously, the farther you are from the equator, the cooler it becomes, hence why people from north/west Europe tend to be paler. As for race, they are definitely considered white.
