I enjoyed this commentary. I was so invested with the show to the point of stalking the casts on their social media and also listening to all podcasts that discusses this in depth. I love this season as their chemistry as a group is on the roof but a lot of things to unpack on how the show manipulated the editing to push some narratives and love lines that feels so Kdrama that I cringe sometimes. Haha. I understand though as it has to be TV entertainment at the end of the day. Wish they showed more nuances of each character and more friendship conversations but oh well, it was still fun! I actually am personally a big fan of how most of the cast members are still friends with one another outside of the show - definitely had a better chemistry than the previous season IMO

Love the MS music hahaha since MapleStory is a Korean game... but yeah I love this dating show, I've watched a couple and this is still by far my favourite. I can't stand some of the over-dramatized Western ones too. Great breakdown!

It's sad how everyone is so ready to root for the guy who is so stubborn with his love and overpowering affection without considering if the girl on the other end feels the same. There is honestly nothing heartwarming about this. Why did we never root for Seulki to be with the person she wanted the most and felt giddy around . People resort to trivialising that to some sort of connection based on only physical characteristics as if Jongwoo liked her from the beginning for anything more. I liked Seulki from the beginning despite her not being a popular contestants among fans and hence I was rooting for her to find someone she truly like and atleast has a chance on the outside. What was between Jinyoung and her was mutual. That was enough for me to root for them . The way people water him down to a bad boy just cause of how he looks or being charming is not okay. It's sad how almost everyone on the island was rooting against them. The circumstances and timings. Imagine how sad it is for all three parties watching the last 2 episodes when they realise everything was a misunderstanding. Jinyoung has already come out and said that the hardest part for him was not realising where Seulki actually stood with him. Even her saying I choose someone who likes me indeed of me liking them broke my heart. Why is it always women who end up settling. I've never see a man on these shows go for someone purely because they have been persistent even if they were no feelings there. In the end of the day everyone involved lost.
