Mixing fabric Patterns. I understood that so far! Question. In your example, sofa and cushions... what type and color of pattern would you use for armchairs and ottoman? That large pattern is so active! Is it too big to use it in a chair or ottoman? I shy away from such uses thinking it would be too much -- but then I see a designer do exactly that and it looks great. That's where I get stumped, extending the concept into more and more items. And what to do about a rug? Could you make a follow video, please, on further pattern mixing? (And thanks for the video. I've just discovered your channel and it's very helpful and also realistic. I subscribed! )
I like to go with something with a pattern on ottomans and chairs, but I can see how that would be intimidating. Just curious... is it color you are most scared of or pattern? Because if it is color you could get a pattern in neutrals (i.e. tone on tones of grays, taupes, or tans) but in a bold pattern and maybe that would be less scary than something with vivid color. For example I have a lime green houndstooth in a medium sized pattern on my ottoman, which is a bold statement that works with my decor, but a gray and cream one would be a little more understated... hence my question of whether it is color or pattern that makes you more nervous. P.S. I hope your project went well!
Great points!
