I am a colleague student and I can confirm that this method works when learning for my exams. I use to take "ugly" notes during the class and then (almost immediately after the courses) I relax myself transcribing them in word and beautify them as I wish. Such colorful notes enable you, indeed, to learn with more pleasure and the process of transcribing (from paper to word) itself helps me, personally, to learn and memorize more efficiently. What I like most is that, as time passes, you will get more and more sheets with such interactive notes and at the end of the semester (when the exam session starts) you will already have organized notes which will make up a little notebook and you will feel less stress due to the great organization of the notes. This is my personal experience and if you prefer other way of learning, it's up to you, everybody has their own style of doing things. You can make the color palette in word! Just paste the color palette image in your word document instead of ppt and do the exact same thing. After you make the seven boxes for the colors just click on the 'more colors' option in word and you have the eyedropper over there. Also, if you want to make an arrow, you can do it like this: --> in word it will take the arrow shape.
What version is that? My MS Word doesn't have the eye dropper. Until I learned Jessica's method, I used to apply the color in MS Word using hexacode/color code.

@@marissav.5051 pretty notes actually are worth the time! i've had some terrible notes and good notes and i realized how much faster i learnt from the good notes in comparison to the bad ones. by making them a little more pleasing to the eye, i had way more fun studying and things stayed in my brain _way_ more faster.

at 10:28, you can just get a shape and write in the shape directly if that's easier. but I do get it if some prefer doing both the textbox and shape 😊. nice video by the way. i wanna try doing notes like this. so aesthetically pleasing. I'm enjoying the video even though I'm not done yet

You should sell some of these as templates or print outs! It’s funny I used to rewrite my notes and add pretty formatting and shapes on paper because it would help me study by rewriting it. I bet this does the same by having to look at the text again and again
