  • Take a ride on Hwy 20 from Skiatook Oklahoma, through Cleveland and back to Tulsa while MrNutt talks about his 2019 CVO Streetglide as the Odometer heads toward 15,000 miles.
Along the way, he also discusses why we love Harley Davidsons, the Design Culture that is the focus of these bikes, and why that is critical for us.
Our 2019 CVO Streetglide is running a Jackpot Header from FuelMoto, with Cobra Race Pro Mufflers which allows the retention of the stock CVO Heat Shields. Breathing through a Screamin' Eagle Ventilator Extreme Air Cleaner and Tuned with Harley Davidson's Pro Street Tuner and Auto Tuner.
This bike has been mechanically sound for the first 15,000 miles with no real mechanical issues.

You will find like I did for my 2018 CVO Street Glide you need to replace the 3 amps and the speakers and flash the head unit. About a 2.5k job if you DIY it, not inexpensive. The janky Boom II amps are not compatible with much, I only found some 5x7 Cicadas for the bags so I installed those to patch together what I got. Love your bike as well, cheers brotha. The CVOs are da bomb😎

Love your videos 👍 I do have a question and hopefully you could point me in the right direction because my mechanics at the dealership can’t do it. I have a 2020 road glide in the standard addition with the 107. I have done a stage 2 on it which I love very much. just this last Saturday I was riding down A 6 Lane Highway and I was in the center lane of my three lanes and all of the sudden my bike lost all power and all electrical right in the middle of 75 miles an hour. I had not bumped the Killswitch or the ignition. I barely made it off the road safe. It scared me so much because I almost got hit. After cycling the ignition all the power came back on. I never had that problem with my fat Bob. Now I am paranoid about being in any lane but the slow lane because of being able to stop and pull over to the side of the road if this happens again. The bike only has 2,500 Miles on it and I’m not sure what to do because Harley says it must be an intermittent issue.

Damn, the only time that happened to me, I accidentally hit the kill switch. It can be startling. Where are you located, we work with several dealers and I will try and point you in the right direction.

Thank you . It’s weird all of the electrical was shut down till I cycled the ignition. My radio and lights including brake . If this happens again and I live through it. My dealership will have bike until they have an explanation.

Richard Hopkins sounds like the bike flipped the kill switch, internally. I would push to replace the ignition and the kill switch, my guess is something inside one that got vibrated right. Then I would ride it. Tough city roads, etc... you can hit me up privately through our Facebook Page, the link is on our channel. Would be happy to assist.

Great idea 👍 I was thinking ignition also. Now all I have to do is talk my service department into it. I’ll take the bike on a bumpy road like you suggest to see if it happens again 👍🙏👌

First, congrats on the Bike. We are not Roadglide people but, that bike is beautiful. Performance upgrades are your choice. MrsNutt has the 2020 CVO Streetglide in Sand Dune and she has not added any performance upgrades. The bike runs very well. Stage 1 gives you slightly more power, but in my opinion the biggest benefit is the sound of the bike. Giving it a better exhaust note, if you prefer. If you’re happy with performance and sound, I see no reason to upgrade.

Kevin Craig I understand. Absolutely love our Performance bikes. But, I enjoy the mellower bikes, as well. These machines are personal, keep yourself happy.

Kind of surprised the HD tuner can run enough fuel for your cat less head pipe and free flowing mufflers. Have you checked the plugs to make sure it’s not running too lean?

The first thing we remove on every bike, is the Cat. We have used the H-D Tuner for any bike we leave at Stage 1, not upgrading the cam.
I did start using the Auto Tuner with Wideband O2 Sensors with new headers, recommended by Matt Laidlaw.
I had the Sparkplugs changed in this bike, 2019 CVO, because I felt I got some bad gas on a cross country trip to Las Vegas. They looked great but, changed them for my own peace of mind. That was over 8,000 miles ago.
First time I have heard the theory that removing the Cat will require more fuel in a significant way. It seems, in my mind, it would allow a faster flow of fuel and air. If that’s true, there are many out there running the stock tune with new exhausts.
Appreciate the comment I will talk this over with our technical team and see if one has a more comprehensive answer.

Is the CVO Streetglide worth the price difference over a Streetglide Special? I have a 2018 SGS with a stage 2 and my local dealer a two used CVO Glides for sale. Is it worth the 10k difference?

    • @TheNuckinFutts
      @TheNuckinFutts  4 года назад

Really good question. It’s subjective. You can’t build a CVO for the difference in price. The sound system, full Bluetooth functionality, remote locking forks and bags, security system, tire pressure monitoring and the accessory collection. Not to mention the model specific heat shields, wheels, engine accessories.
That said, you miss out on some customization that you might want to make other choices on.
A CVO can get better with Performance and Suspension Mods but, that is about all you can do.
If you like the CVO, as equipped, Color, Accessory Collection, etc... it saves you about $10 to $20K and gives you a few exclusives.
