I don’t blame him, trust me I know the good drivers have those annoying serious faults! I knew he would pass first time, and from reading the comments he has! Congratulations mate 🥳
At the beginning with the pedestrians on the refuge, I thought the highway code had changed so you had to let them cross. I think there is massive confusion over the new rules and makes it more dangerous for everyone because nobody actually understands wtf they are supposed to do
You only give way to a pedestrian waiting to cross if they are waiting to cross at a junction you are turning at. So say you are coming to a junction and you want to turn left, if there are pedestrians waiting there you let them cross before you turn. So for a crossing island this rule doesn’t apply, it’s more dangerous to stop for them in that instance. 😁
However, since I’ve been driving the last 2 years I’ve never seen anyone stop for pedestrians before they turn, so I think only new drivers will be doing that don’t worry about it too much. As a pedestrian I wouldn’t expect a car to stop either, it takes an extra few seconds to wait, quite a stupid new rule to be honest.
@@hanlouisex I think that's where the confusion lies, new drivers and older passed drivers, some let pedestrians cross, some don't, it's like a lucky dip. As a pedestrian I step backwards away from the kerb, hopefully indicating that I'm not going to try cross in front of the car, as a driver I'm aware that pedestrians are unpredictable and just as likely to step out in front of you as wait for the road to be clear.
@@hanlouisex, basically any road user from HGV to pedestrians need to use common sense. The rules may have changed but the results of a collision haven’t!
I think this video doesn't show other car is coming at the roundabout but a real test can be really harsh, although it depends on an examiner on the day of the test...
He describes the incident without prompting prior to being faulted. We never see a Blue Micra but that must have been slowed down. Other evidence of this might be how tight we come in after the silver car as on the fly this may have been a way of minimising the fault which driver knows happened.
Pin you said you were extra harsh with your marking for not checking mirrors a few seconds after to assess if anything has changed. But what about the “famous hill”? The speed was quite fast over the humps. I would have marked a driving fault for appropriate speed.
This is what happens to good drivers who fail their actual test, due to silly mistakes which they have never made during the lessons or unexpected things happen on the day of the test which are not managed well by the learner as a minor fault can be easily turning into a serious fault....😅
I faild my test last min was really silly of me to not look left befre going stright knowing there was a van but he wasnt moving. But my examiner was lovely so carnt fault him.praying i will get him again.

Hi Pin, quick question, do you have to be a leaner driver to take part in one of your mock tests or can anyone qualified driver do it? I passed my test recently and was thinking of taking a mock test
my comment is: how hasn't Epty got a full licence, and just going for an advanced driving test? this driver apart from the major, and few minors, looks more like someone who has been driving for a minimum of a few years. I have seen people with 30+ years more nervous, and dangerous due to nerves than Epty and his extremely limited time behind the wheel, and think he has been learning large goods vehicles, HGV positioning as well, as extremely patient, even though the truck driver made it extremely hard to have any sort of prediction on what was going to haappen next.
