Hidden Ice World of the South Fork Canyon - Our Wyoming

- The South Fork Canyon near Cody, Wyoming has the highest concentration of ice falls in the lower 48. Its difficult access combined with remote location has made it a favorite ice climbing destination for the intrepid few. Since the late 90s, one man has been pushing deeper into the canyon in the search for new and exciting ice routes.
I like the idea that the ice opens paths and closes others with time. It feels almost magical. Or, gamey actually. Like something that might happen in a video game.
I was lucky enough to witness a few of those climbs that were pioneered by Todd Cozzens. He was a childhood friend of mine and he attempted to haul me up the face of these beautiful ice falls... but I just couldn’t find a way to enjoy it. I was terrified, wet and cold.

Say, looks like I'm early. You know what I miss? When discovery channel did stuff like this. Luckily You-tube allows anyone to do stuff like this. All the documentaries you could want are still out there. But you have to FIND them first. Lucky for you intrepid You-tuber, you, who does not rely on the algorithm or, god forbid, the home page, you've stumbled upon a gold mine. A veritable mother-load of quality content on You-tube. It seems too rare these days, but it's not. You-tube just doesn't bother pushing it. So you have to look harder for it. It's all here. In One Piece.
