Something that helped me understand the difference between both divergences:
-Regular div.(trend reversal): we look at highs in uptrends and lows in downtrends (both price and indicator)
-Hidden div.(trend continuation): we look at lows in uptrends and highs in downtrends (both price and indicator)
*Keeping this in mind, price and indicator must have a contrary movement in order to identify the divergence.

Yeah I think my biggest hurdle is determining what the overall trend is in short term. Like if I see bullish divergence on a downtrend and it makes a higher high than a higher low are we now considered in an uptrend if the reversal is playing out? And do I now start looking at highs instead of lows? Thats where im a bit mixxed up. Im getting the hang of this but it takes alot of brain power for me still to work through it. Also what if we are sideways and its printing higher high than lower high than equal high than higher high than lower high etc sideways, now what am I looking for?
@@CantTreadOnMe having the same problem every time I'm doing this I get a bullish divergence it seems that I also get a hidden bearish divergence.
how are you able to distinguish Between those two?

-Let me simplify it for you so you can memorize it very easily. (Dont forget if we look at the top of the price we will look at the top of the indicator too)
-If we are looking at the TOPS of the price (doesn’t matter if uptrend or downtrend) and we see a divergence the price will FALL
--If we are looking at the BOTTOMS of the price (doesn’t matter if uptrend or downtrend) and we see a divergence the price will RISE

7:59 stochastic (favorite)
8:24 money flow index
9:05 awesome oscillator
9:35 momentum indicator
9:55 macd (worst)
10:20 use higher time frames (4h 1d)
any stochastic number? i mean the default stochastic input is different from binance with your stoch input numbers

Video Summary:
2 types of divergence:
Regular Divergence: Leading indicators (helps sell the top, buy the bottom) .ie spot trend bend/trend reversal
Reg Bear Div: Appears during uptrend, price makes higher high but indicator registers lower high. Market exhaustion/ market reversal
Reg Bull Div: During Downtrend. Price makes lower lows but indicator requires higher lows. Market reversal/correction
Hidden Divergence: Indicate continuation
Bull Hid Div: Higher lows of the price but lower indicator values during uptrend
Bear Hid Div: Lower highs of price and higher indicator values during downtrend
Best Indicators to use divergence: RSI/CCI/OBV/Stochs
Divergences are more reliable on longer time frames such as daily/weekly.
Gaurav Nigam MD ‘hidden divergence’ is a myth.
I am using stochastic divergence on 30 min time frame on my intraday trades. Its working and i am making money since 2 and 1/2 years..

True I trade only Regular and Hidden Divergence ,on top of that I'm using EMA - 8,21,50,200 it's very helpful on 15mTF you can easy see trend.
