- Before the creation of Eve, Adam was surrounded by a beautiful paradise, he had dominion over the whole planet, he mirrored and reflected the holiness of God. Yet, something was still missing. In this message, Dr. R.C. Sproul examines the theme and focus of the second chapter of Genesis: the creation of woman and the divine institution of marriage.

I cried with this chapter ❤
Words cannot describe how grateful I am to be able to search through Dr. Sproul's material online. At a drop of a dime he is here with me sharing his vast knowledge. God bless all involved

This is an amazing message from the late great theologian, Bible expositor, and compassionate preacher RC Sproul. I pray for Ligonier Ministries to release more classic teachings of this great preacher of God. This will be my dream to be a theologian like RC. Thank you Ligonier!
RC the biblical detective back on the case, to give us sound teaching.

now a days, there are people who are trying to tear down the very notion of male and female.
This lovely, humble man. Speaks with such authority. Thank you for broadcasting this at a time when we need it most. Praise God From Whom all blessings flow!
Greatest theologian of the 20th Century, thank you for sharing these videos.

@@terminat1 - Exactly, thank you for your humility. Then we agree that what you ought to have done is consider. I immediately understood that you did not consider. It would be nice if you would make an honorable attempt to consider from this point forward. I'm sure everyone in your life would agree with me on that point. Thank you for honestly and forthrightly admitting fault, I hope you have a wonderful day.
Far be it from me to argue with the Almighty, however, I would be lying if I said I am not more than a little sad that Dr. Sproul is no longer with us. I am blessed that we have so much of his preaching on video and audio, however. The Holy Spirit truly used him in a glorious way. 🙌

@@HonorableMention83 What was the point of your comment? Are you THAT desperate and lonely for attention? 🤡

Good 👍 preacher is also very good story teller
RC is not a preacher. Are you saved?
I love his writings on the board lol
Absolutely wonderful 👏 👏👏👏👏👏👏 🎯
Even younger he was quite the thinker (:
Have you ever noticed that directly after Jesus' teaching about divorce in Mark 10 that it is followed by children entering the story?
It sometimes seems as if everyone gets stuck on the adults being the 'one flesh' and just never progress past that point to the children. They are not only biologically 'one flesh', but also the spiritual and intellectual combination of their parents.
The focus in Mark 10: 1-12 is on the "two" becoming one flesh through the act of intimacy, not through the act of child-bearing. This is why adultery, fornication and divorce are so devastating and strictly forbidden.
@@wk1810 I agree, it nevertheless seems as though that particular focus is only one half or part of the entire thought that was being carried over. I've encountered something similar when discussing the book of Job and what they understand from it based on the interactions between him, his friends and God.
would like to listen to the rest of it!

Lol...that's true 😅😅😅
In my opinion the language started to change at verse 4 of the 2nd chapter....
"Bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh"....Adam said she is ken to him.
May I suggest, Eve is Adam's bride to redemption thru her seed that would crush the serpent head.
6:43 because God knew Adam would be disobedient.

Oh my Lord, I've been following him for years. I've never seen this one. Is he saying that God brought the animals 1 / 1 to see which one was going to be his companion Tempting Abomination as if God does not know all things., I don't know what you think about this One. It's possible he missed the mark on this one
Not quite. There are not many who lived that dealt with the extent of God's sovereignty and Omniscience more than RC. He's describing the fact that God brought all the animals to Adam and he never called them what he called eve. It wasn't as tho God was seeking Adam's counsel or proving anything to himself. He was displaying his glory to Adam and proving the magnificence of his creative power to Adam. He's not saying that God is testing pairs or anything like that.

4 thumbs down? WHATS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!?!
Well some people are currently living in the 21st century. Long overdue for religious mythology to take a seat. Thankfully it's in increasing decline in America and most of the developed countries
@@professorneturman2249 you and your unsubstantiated claims again. Prove it’s merely mythology. While you’re at it, explain how in the world on makes any sense to try and shame people who a merely doing what their DNA is directing them to do.

@@professorneturman2249 By the way, I noticed you haven’t answered my challenges regarding the unsubstantiated assertion you made and the presumptions that you are bringing here.
First, prove it’s mythology.
Second, why should you care since the beliefs represented here are merely the result of chemical reactions?

The Man Created with Logical thinkings a Woman Created with Feelings thinkings a marriage of the two to produce offsprings amen Go forth and inhabit the whole earth
So inbreeding is the answer?
It’s not good for man to be alone, even for the pope and his whole host Catholic clergy🙄
I think we both know that they don’t follow the bible anyway 🤔
Because they aren’t married? True, I don’t agree with the unbiblical Roman Catholic restrictions concerning marriage. But, how would you explain single people in general? Or people who never find anyone to marry in life? I think his point was.. it’s not good that man is isolated or alone in life, with no fellowship or connections. Not necessarily that it’s bad that he never gets married. After all, the Bible says it’s a good thing if a man never touches a woman and singleness is more of a blessing since you have more time to commit to God.
Cute. 😆

There are close to 9 million species on this planet not including those that are extinct, and God in his infinite knowledge decided to bring them from all the continents of the earth just to be named? Does this include dinosaurs from the various time periods? And why Is God even bothering with this when he knows that he’s going to make a helper in eve? Or does this throw into question Gods infinite knowledge aspect
Just nonsense about mythology
From my perspective I don’t think dinosaurs existed at the same time as humans. I don’t see why there would be a problem understanding this as his naming the animals present at the time in the garden. We had plenty of time to discover more and name them later. At the end of the day if there is a God none of this is too far fetched. If one doesn’t believe in a person god then it would be wild beyond all reason. But, of course, those people tend to be quick to accept all kinds of wild nonsense in Gods place.
@@jjjjjjjjj323 your perspective has no bearing on the FACTS. Any humans found below the boundary layer?
@@professorneturman2249 chemical reactions going on and you “think” you e gotten to the “facts”? That’s awesome
@@jjjjjjjjj323 I see you haven't answered my question
He got Calvinism wrong but taught other good stuff 👍🏼
Well, no. The Bible plainly teaches that God elected a people for Himself.
Arminians secretly love listening to Calvinist preachers. Not even kidding.
Adam said that's not what I had in mind. Show me this in scripture. Commentary/exposition should not add to scripture. Proverbs 30:5-6
You're nitpicking. He's not adding to scripture. Anyone with any sense can see he is presenting a hypothetical. May want to be careful accusing a man of God such as Sproul. Seriously. Watch your mouth. Repent.
Please explain how Eve being a clone of Adam is a different gender. Then we'll discuss inbreeding.
We have to first start with God creating man out of dirt and breathing life into him.
Miracles are outside of this dimensions logic
@@kalmendares94 So ...because God and because miracles. Apparently you have no clue about how to support an assertion.
Also how exactly did your personal choice of fictional character of mythology create himself from nothing.
@@professorneturman2249 He didn't create himself from nothing, He already was. Something we're unable to comprehend because the finite cannot understand the infinite.
