Here are some reasons for that.
#Banana_peel_Fertilizer #Liquid_Fertilizer
One thing everyone should understand that what works in one climate doesn’t work in every kind of climate! I live in a mild, cold, dry, climate of the Bay Area, I have used banana peels and the whole bananas in my roses for ever, I use banana liquid too without any harms to the plants! Indian conditions are totally different, you have to be wise enough to understand that!
Most of the RUclipsrs are just copy paste junkies, without any actual knowledge!
I like Dr Agarwal because that’s how my father use to do gardening in India, I learned everything from him and still applying! 🙏🏼
Thanks a lot
my dear friend, India is home to an extraordinary variety of climatic regions, ranging from tropical in the south to temperate and alpine in the Himalayan north, where elevated regions receive sustained winter snowfall. so you can't judge banane peel fertilizer on the basis of temperature, climate conditions of west bengal. i am using this fertilizer from last 2 years, and not facing any problem. so first Mr Agarwal and you should understand Indian climate. After that make a perception.
@@maheshrawat6387
It is a pity that you should respond so. Dr. Agarwal's videos are highly educative & wonderful. In this video, he specifically made a mention about temperature conditions being the determining factor. Why should you be so presumptuous to think that he is unaware of the different climatic conditions in India?
@@stseshadri1964 because he said in india
@@stseshadri1964 first you should listen complete video, after that share any comments. He clearly said that in India is not good ok. So India is not all about best Bengal. India is all about Kashmir, Gujrat, Kerala and asam Manipur, there is different climate conditions. And if he is facing problem that is not our problem. He should study first after that make a video. And I am not only one who said banana peel is good for plants, If you will use it in good manner and who give him rights to say that other you tubers doing wrong in the basis of some google pages and his perception. And some time my dear when you do anything wrong always accept it ok without covering own mistake.
Interesting to know! I've always added a chopped up clove of garlic to prevent fungal infections forming in my banana and nettle infusions. I've still got loads left... maybe I'll just use them on my older plants now. I live in the UK so humidity is rarely an issue for me. Thank you! 🙏
I put a egg with peel, a banana peel, a bit milk and coffee ground into the blender and gave it to 12L of water and watered my plants with it. It worked very well as a liquid fertilizer. All ingiridients were fresh though.
Thanks for ur comment i will try too, to my vegies plants
Are the egg boiled first or just add egg to it?
@@melaniobenitez5527 instead of this you can spary a chocolate cake . It is also make egg , milk , some time coffee and Banana 😂
I have been using banana peels without drying them or soaking them and haven't faced any problem so far.
How u made ma'am ? Plz share
@@Namrata609 I just chop the peels into pieces and put them in the soil.
@@BandanaChoudhury thanks a ton..soil of grown plant or u tried to mk compost?
@@Namrata609 so I do both. Sometimes I compost with other things like vegetable peels, tea leaves, etc. And I also add the chopped peels to the soil of my potted plants.
works great in the Yucatan we put them in water here
When the banana peels are soaked in water it has to be covered to facilitate anaerobic respiration inside the mixture, if you leave it open it develops fungus. If you cover and ferment it it becomes liquid compost!!
I add some onion peels along with banana peels to avoid fungus issue. It really works.
Onion peels,great idea...should try that
@@44ameyjoshi looks good idea. How was the result in plants.
@@aj-ud5df results are great
@@44ameyjoshi , hello.I add onions, garlic peels,waste vegetables too.my plants r thriving.
Hello sir,
Thank you for all those very informative & reliable videos. I've been following u since ur first videos. U r an amazing teacher. Always to the point. As for this banana peel liquid fertilizer: unfortunately, i used it on many of my potted plants & i've practically lost many.Thk u very much for this update.God bless.
This is a fantastic video which every gardener must watch. I cannot thank you enough for taking time to do this gem of a video. I have pile of dried banana peels ready for powdering. I will wash them from now on before drying to remove any chemicals. Thank you, Thank you & Thank you 😊.
So nice of you
Yes now iam satisfied, because i had doubt before about these that this harming my plants.i used to apply this before but i have harmed my plants so i havnt applied since . Thank you sir .U r being Honest man
I used it like this, 3 banana peels in a liter of water for 15 days in another bottle i place 4 tbsp .of coffee grins for the same time .After the 15 days i strained , mix both solutions , and use it diluted with more water .I had good results , even the orchids bloomed beautifully .
Just bury the peel straight into the soil, works fine,a great source of potrssium, only down side is if indoors it can attract fruit flys /gnats.
Would imagine it will draw night crawlers/and if done right just keep feeding the soil/
This is very useful video. They are advocating banana peel liquid fertiliser on so many channels.. I spoiled some of my plants using it. You have given the reasons. thank you.
You r absolutely right as I use in my plants and my whole house was covered with flies.
Thanks
Very true! I had a bad experience by applying such banana peel water. Too many ants in my flower pot and they brought lot of mites and insects. I had to change most the soil to recover the plant. But by the time I realised I had already lost most of them.
I always use this liquid after getting it diluted with 10 times water and one table spoon of antifungal preparation. There's no side effects of any kind that you are mentioning.
It's true sir ....I have applied this method and lots of my plants infected by insects, and some plants have died. Thank you so much sir for this information.
Very useful.. i had prepared this liquid fertiliser and was about to apply before which i saw ur vdo. Saved me a ton. Thank you very much. Great work Sir.
I use banana feel fertilizer in my garden always .
I cut my peels and soak it in a air tight bottle . So i never get any insects .
Secondly you can bake the peel in the oven and than use a mixer grinder to turn it into powder .
Agree. I too soak in airtight bottle and use diluted in 1:4 proportion. As for the peels, I throw them away.
I also same I put in bottle but after 5 days warms are there what can I do. Nd what mistake I do becoz warms are there?
@@merabalaji6665 no problem when you have warms it die when you pour that liquid to soil
I use banana pills dry powder for my plants
@@rekhasheth3579 Next time I try peel powder. How you see growth rate after you adding peel powder? Any good changes you see soon or later?
This is contradictory to your earlier posts where you have either soaked the banana peels with other fruits and vegetable e.g. papaya or made a shake of the peels and then left for decomposing for about a week and then diluted with water for use. Lot of people it seems have the same confusion looking at the comments especially since your earlier videos were for Indian climates also. Appreciate if you could clarify more.
Thats why he has put the title "Harsh Reality" coz he faced the problem of fungus ..
well if u completely decompose the stuff i hope u realize the game changes
The irony is that most of the you tubers are suggesting tips on the basis of hearsay. So always check the veracity of the so called organic tips on some institutional websites.
I watch many gardenning channel on you tube but there are a few channel which give right and correct information. 'Gardenning is my passion' is the most useful channel for me...thank you
Thank you for your gardening videos. If very dry banana peels are ground into a powder, are the nutrients immediately available to the plant (when mixed into the soil) - or does it take a long time for it to become useful to the roots? (One gardening channel seemed to indicate it would be useful only after 3-6 months, but I suspect if powdered finely it should be available in days. Would appreciate your expertise. Thank you.)
It's takes time for the powder to be affective
I just ground some up and am trying to find out how to best use it. I think I'm going to use it in soil along with some tea/coffee grounds for nitrogen, for slow growing stuff like garlic, ginger.
Thanks you for this video. I've learned today a good lesson that theres a lot of things to take in consideration before doing something that I've found on youtube. It's actually common sense but sometimes it's this small things we often forget and then face consequences. I've found this video very useful. And give a 10 out of 10.
Very True
I put banana peels and water in a blender and grind up the add more water , the apply to the base of tomato plants. the flowers and tomatoes increase and the plant grows quicker.
Where are you based? Probably this is climate dependent
@@sandheepkumarvb I think that u r correct. It depends on the climate n soil. Zone 9b Subtropical can handle it. But it does attract insects.
@@ishaa5948 I just did the same and am in zone 9b.
Thats a great thing which you have mentioned that ideas on internet do not mention the application of the same in any climate or zones. Thanks for sharing this information, it has saved many of my plants.
Thank you very much for the advice .Now I know...I promise to myself to follow your gardening tips now and no other!!! ...God bless...
Absolutely correct. I destroyed all my Periwinkle using banana peel fertilizer. Had soaked the peels raw for over 7 dys. Could not understand why my plants started dying and then I turned to google & RUclips to study the adverse effects. Learned not to blindly follow every advise without proper research. Thanks Dr. Sa'ab 🙏
U only soak it like 2 days no more. And depends on ur climate. He's in India
Glad to hear this, I live in a subtropical climate and I tried to make the banana fertilizer once and it was really nasty. Now I know I’m not crazy for not wanting to put that ugly stink juice in my plants. 🤣👍🏼
Do you not have a refrigerator to store it as it "percolates"?
Much needed Information.. I found soil looks always sluggish after using banana peel and stopped using it as roots got spoiled.. now I understood the real reason behind it. Thnk u sir...
Hi Ambika, Download PLANTECK: Plant Identification and Care(beta) from Google Playstore. It is something of your interest.😊I bet you will thank me later💖
I live in the northern part of India. I have been using banana liquid fertilizer on potted and ground rose plants for quite some time, but I have never seen ants or any insects. My plants are healthy and they bloom very well.
Yes same experience mine also👍
SAME WHAT IS HE SAYIN
Yes
But he has told some facts
We must be careful
yeah also the screenshots he is showing is abt using banana peel directly inside potted plants.. not abt using liquid banana peel
I'm really glad I watched this video! I live in southern LA, United States where we have a similar climate to India except it freezes here lightly on occasion. I watched a video about using banana peels and it sounded good, but with warm conditions like India, it never occurred to me this could happen. Thanks for the information! Much appreciated and I hope you have many views on this. 😊
Thanks a lot
i also live in La,lol
I have no problem in LA. U only soak it like 2 days, no more. U can use organic egg shells as well
@@micahsnyder8281 I begin to wonder if the people with issues ever heard about a device called a refrigerator? You stick the solution in it for a few days, to a week, as it "percolates" then you just don't get that nasty ass thing that was shown in the video.
Im in Southeast LA, Covington. Its been hot this summer and gardening has not been kind. I had aphids destroy my green bean plants, and now im dealing with hornworms on my tomato plants. I use banana water too, except i boil it for 45 min to an hour before straining. My cantaloupe, honeydew and watermellon plants are doing fairly well given the high temps.
I agree as it happened with me. Thankyou for giving the scientific reason and revealing the truth about this.

Thank you so much for this video and instructions. I'm just a beginner in gardening and will use this. ♥️
Thank you very much for the valuable information!!
Very correct information... I use to apply this nd noticed ants and fungal attack..thank u sir🙏👍
Thank you for your explanation. I used the banana peel liquid dilute with water - ratio 1:12, it works for my plants, all blooming with flowers.
I guess the trick is to add loads of water, otherwise it burn the roots of your plants.
Great awareness, can we use sea weeds extract in adenium
Very helpful I have changed my technique to dehydrate the peels and then use for tea - which is much easier and less mess! thank you for this!
I watched this after I just did the “banana peel tea” in my balcony garden. I’m in a very humid climate. Hopefully my plants will not be damaged. Thanks for the info!!
How did your plants go. I just drowned mine it banana mash water. Now I’m worried
Sir you said correct about blindly using European practices by some gardeners here. I have suffered many times by following their advice here as it is not at all suitable with the climate, soil and plants. Thank you for guiding us correctly.
Thank you very much for this information. And please tell something about the usefulness of rice and dal rinsed water as Fertilizer.
Yes certainly you can use them

He himself had posted a video about using banana peel fertilizer by soaking banana peels in water. Now he just made a video contradicting himself. You can check it on his channel. Also, he is misinforming by telling that the fertilizer is directly poured on the plant, which is not true. When you make the soak the peels and get your fertilizer ready, you have to dilute it in water whenever you use. So basically if you are taking 50 or 100ml fertilizer, then you should add 500ml water in it to dilute it so that it won't be strong. You'll get amazing results. Dont fall for this video. He just made it for views since he is out of content to post.
Ravin agreed
Thanks sir for such useful information 👍

I gave the video a thumbs up, but have to say that some of my plants absolutely love this. I live in NY, though, so that's probably why.
Thank you very much sir! This what I was wondering about...
Thank you so much for the information sir,I follow all your tips
i dry the peels, then grind it in food processor. I use it to amend soil, never had any issue. Using raw peel on plants directly can cause problems. i do not make compost tea, too much hassle in my opinion.
But Sir one month back you shared a video on how to make liquid fertilizer from vegetable and fruit peels in that you have told to use all types of peels...will that be safe to use in plants... Please clarify 🙏
I believe it depends where you live. If it dry... don't use it. If you live in high humidity...then it seems okay
Thank you for your researched information that supports the your wisdom on natural fertilizer.
Thank u so much for the wonderful information.u r like my plant guru
