IKM makes great hard- and software for producers. Their T-RackS plugins is more on the mixing and mastering side of processing - usually. It covers everything from tape emulations (very good ones) to Clippers and will clutter your plugin-folder. Most of their T-RackS plugins I don't use, but some I still do. If I had to buy it again, I'd buy it for their reverbs (Sunset Sound and FAME Studio) and tape emulations. I also use the Clipper, the Meter and 3 of their compressor emulations (White 2A to make a Snare snappier, VC 670 for controlling Bass and Bus Compressor for Acoustic Drum Busses.. so very specific use cases). I also use their tape echo -BUT I don't believe mixing and mastering is IKMs strongsuit. Where I think IKM shines is instruments (MODO BASS, Hammond B-3X), Amp and Pedal Emulations and affordable but GOOD gear for guitarists and bedroom producers. Thus, I think IKM was wise to make more "producer-ish" plugins for their T-RackS Suite, because that's probably who buys their stuff. The plugins you demonstrated here are quite obviously tools to get a sound and not tools to perfect and balance a sound (which is my oversimplified way to express the difference between producer-processing and mixing-processing). Seeing you have fun with producer tools sometimes makes me feel like you could have become a producer in another life.
By my ears, the bass punch is just a hihpass filter of what comes in and triggers the compression. The focus is just a 3db boost of a frequency betweek 800 to about 3k to p7ch the signal and then trigger the compressor by the boost. But I am not a professional, so I may be wrong.....
