    Narendra Modi's government has been very lucky with international petrol prices falling ever since 2014. Never once have they passed on the benefit to the common man.

      Govt. Wants more people to come to the streets , like the farmers ,to fight and fight hard for their rights. We don't question the government when taxes are raised.
      Your comparison of Biden to Trump is not something people don't know, I would have liked it if you had compared Trump to Modi , Hope that episode is on the line.

      @code base Why ? will you become the finance minister and block the price coming down??
      Why don't you do a bit of study the price of crude oil is $42 for 154 litre barell and when distilled you get Avio Turbine fuel ( ATF), Petrol, diesel, Kerosene, Paraffin wax, Bitumen, And finally the sludge is used to extract Carbon Black that goes for tyre making. Every product f this is Excised, Sales Taxed, and State Sales taxed
      etc.When MMS was in power the crude was selling at US$138 for 154 litre barrel.We did not pay so much of money for our Petrol and Diesel. Now what you get as Petrol is a mix of 20% ethanol and 80% petrol but your vehicle carb is not made for such a mix . So dont get carried away by media BS

    • @vijayakumarsamuel7748
      @vijayakumarsamuel7748 3 года назад +1

      @code base No qualified , sane economist, or finance expert will ever agree that tax on fuel is the right way to augment our coffers. Fuel is the basic driver and any increase will drive the prices sky high which is happening now. the public will have no money in their hands to spend other items it is called ripple effect.
      the government officials , politicians do not feel that because they have endless resource of tax payers money .so they don't care how much is the diesel price

    I am slightly underwhelmed by the bland cookie-cutter inauguration speech by uncle Joe. But took immense heart by his countermanding 17 of the toxic bills of his predecessor on the very first working day at his office. I can happily live with a politician whose actions speak louder than his bombasts. Let us all hope under his stewardship the US reconnects with the world again in fostering global prosperity for all. And not for a moment forgetting to tackle the twin evil of climate change and pandemics together.

    What happened to Trump in the USA - will that happen to Modi in India? We all hope so but is that hope realistic? There are major differences between the two countries. US media with solitary exceptions has remained independent and fearless inspite of all efforts by Trump to muscle and arm twist the media to suit his interests. US Institutions were crowded with Trump appointees but there remained individuals who had the guts and courage to oppose the Establishment, to work ethically according to their conscience and duty even risking their careers and prospects as the price to be paid. In India on the other hand what we see is a craven whipped media or a sycophantic Establishment clinging media that reports news selectively or even falsely, throws all journalistic ethics to the winds and constantly plays up to the Government. In all our so-called Independent institutions there are hardly any individuals who will work honestly and live up to their duties and responsibilities. Until we can throw up a leader who can tackle all this head on we should not continue to hope that Modi will ever be removed from power.

    No sir, Excise is only one component of 'tax' on petrol and diesel; VAT of state governments are a further tax. You have to add them to excise for total 'tax'. Then, much much more than 50% of cost would be taxes. If I am not mistaken if the tax is zero, the price at the retail level will not be more than Rs. 35, may be lower.

    The citizens who voted for the present NDA dispensation have brought this upon the nation. The NDA is a remarkable coalition, which seems to be ignorant of its constitutional obligations. Fuel and Energy are so basic that they practically impact our right to live as much as food and shelter do. The Farmer agitation is yet to stir the present dispensation out of its slumber. They cannot merely wish it away, because the average farmer is determined to fight for his/her right and block the adversities and hardships the three laws are bound to entail.

    When the honourable PM was asked the question on why are the oil prices rising ,he discreetly mentioned the Term Ethanol. Many would not have understood this most are under a Spell. Brazil uses Ethanol for cars . This hydrocarbon is not fossil derived but extracted from Sunflower. He feels that the Congress should have taken cue from this technology . So blame the Congress. This ploy will not stick as they they could have made a course correction under their watch. I believe the educated should call this bluff and take the govt on issues.

    My point to the govt is when they are already selling all Psus and Railways then why do they need money?? They have sold National Highways, Airports and Sea ports also. Why do they need taxes then. They hiked all the taxes.
