Every time I watch this video short, I ponder what creative nut thought this out. It is fun walking off the map once and a while. The little items: the lint roller, the cowboy sneezing on a horse, getting a cat out of a tree, cowboy holding one on his saddle, Now that I am in level assisted living, I have a great excuse for urine leakage when I laugh. Along with building jet planes in the sky and watching a passenger drink coffee only to have it blow back all over his face - they are both classics. Just watch your bladder.
Found something by googling cat herders cgi: Only about 60 cats were cast to be in the commercial, many of them with specialties, such as swimming or docility. The scenes where there appear to be hundreds of them are computer generated. The CGI was created by Sight Effects, Inc. Also computer generated are the scenes with cats running among the horses. So don’t worry, no feline actors were stomped during the commercial’s making. Thirteen cat trainers worked on the filming.
Ya, I know it was about getting "data together" but it would make an incredibly good spay neuter promo. Has anyone noticed that no one but good old Bob Barker is reminding the public how important it is to spay neuter. No one hears how many are being killed every day, it's really a waste of tax dollars and land fill space. This really is a great commercial, it could be doing some great work instead of sitting in the archives. The Neuteress of the Night in NeuterNeuterLand
Also: Most of the humans appearing in this commercial aren’t traditional actors, either - they are real cowboys, who work at ranches in California, Colorado and New Mexico. Supposedly, much of the script was based on dialogue that came from the cowboys themselves.
hahahahahaha.. don't know who that company is, and apparently they're going down according to previous comments, but that was FUNNY and an ingenious commercial.

ya'll know they wouldn't haffta' be herdin' them cats if they'd had gotten them fixed when they shudda.' We're euthanizing too many cats in shelters here, help us out & neuter your pets. I took on neutering 86 cats on a ranch where they didn't have the common sense to see the litters counting up until it was too late! One female cat, had a litter & 10 years later there were 86 of them breeding. 50% of them pregnant in FREEZING NOVEMBER! Thanks for listening! The Neuteress of the Night
eyebrid not all cats are always interested in them, depends on thier laziness however it should work with most stray and wild domestic cats, not sure about big cats however

I would love to know how they made this commercial. It was my favorite super bowl commercial. I still get a good laugh when I watch it.
that was awesome. I remember seeing this during the superbowl several years back and it's still funny.

Hadn't seen this one in ages. Just TOO FUNNY!
Thanks for posting, added to my favorites. :~)
One of the funniest TV spots ever. I love the guy with the brush.
It was certainly 1 of the best "funny" commercials, ever!
"Just look at his face...all ripped to shreds" - classic!
Ross Perot sold EDS in the late 80s. They also do outsourcing which is what they started out as (an outsourcing company).
You're totally right on that, Neuteress. Fixing them is certainly better than killing them. BTW, I guess the commercial is more of a metaphor.
OMG, that is probably my favorite comercial ever!!!
LOL IRL! That's hilarious. Great ad.
You see the movies, you hear the stories -- its Im living a dream.
This is hilariously funny, kudos to whoever thought this up, cats, cow...er..catboys..lol!

The Neuteress of the Night in NeuterNeuterLand
This is one of the best videos I've watched... really funny!!!
EDS, Ross Perot's company. They make Unigraphics, a major 3D computer-aided drafting/design (CAD) network database used by engineering companies.
Sure did :) But right now even one cat seems to be too much.

This clip proves that REAL men love cats. ;)

Behold, the metaphor of Anonymous in action!

I would love this job, :3
I AM DYING!! THIS IS HILARIOUS!!

Pastoring a congregation is the same thing as herding cats! I know because I am a pastor!

what am i missing???
Anyone who's worked with EDS lately knows that they have lost their cat herding skills.
Here in America we call Socialism "hope" and "change" so as to not spook the herd.
are these guys for real?
