**NOTIFICATION SQUAD** Safely came back from Okinawa, filmed 3 videos, 1 with Chris for Journey Across Japan and 2 for my channel. Apart from the Chris' unfortunate ear injury, everything else went amazingly well. Collab with Natsuki was absolute fun and I am looking forward to how Chris is going to edit our battle. I will be releasing mines hopefully towards the end of this month, so stick around!
"just bored Abroad in Japan viewers" That is the best roast I've ever heard. I'm gonna get evicted because of noise complaints from laughing too loudly
Man... I watched that movie once, then later my brother bought me the DVD because he knows I like Ghibili films... That was 12 years ago and I havent even taken the plastic off the case.
I do _not_ understand the choices that resulted in them putting her on the can. Why on earth would you want to associate your product with starvation and depression?!?!
If that was actually Chris saying wow his impression was freakishly on point. Also was that a labrador behind the camera in the youtube play button reflection?😂
Thank you for the lovely memory. My best friend from High School taught English in Japan for a while. He has long since passed away, but he was a contestant on Takeshi's Castle in Japan. He was also a fabulous drag queen, and he was called gaijin many times on the show. He took a clear bubble umbrella as his one allowed prop, and it allowed my dear Dan, AKA Ms Kitty Litter "Green," to rock the competition for a while! He did not know that water guns would be part of the challenge. It was part of his character persona. That choice was serendipity. Thank you for bringing a much needed smile to my face and reminding me of Dan/Kitty! ❤
So glad Chris was able to spend some time with such an affable individual such as yourself. You're doing him a huge favor. I hope his channel grows given the huge platform you've given him.
Congratulations on the 100k subs. Although I must admit that the relationship with Chris brought me here, you're sense of humour, insight into Japan and wholesomeness have kept me as part of the notification squad. On to 1 mil subs, let's gooooooo!
I laughed so hard when you showed the Abroad in Japan Clips channel instead of the main one, as if it was a legit editing error. The editor of your channel must have the time of their life really. But congrats on the 100(137)K subs, it's gonna be a race now, cracking the 3Mil before Chris will.
I think Chris secretly loves that Takeshi cat statue! And it being made of plastic is ideal, because unlike the old one it won't shatter if there's an earthquake.
I love vinegared squid! We would buy packets of them as snacks on hot summer day trips. And Sakuma drops! Sooo nostalgic, giving me dental cavities since toddlerhood. It was the only candy my parents would buy for me and my sisters. Love this episode! Congratulations Ryoutaro, you've earned it with your blood, sweat, and tears!
Ryotaro CRACKS me UP! I understand kibidango are oishi! Well done, mon ami! (Too lazy to look up 'my friend' in Japanese, so I resorted to high school French.) Chris' reactions to the various tastes you presented to him are PRICELESS. My laptop and my nose hate you, from me snorting out Cabernet Sauvignon from said nose onto my laptop.
7:54 awww Grave of the Fireflies, such a sad film and oddly one of my favorites of Studio Ghibli. I’ve always wanted to try those candies just because of that movie
congrats man! it is really amazing how fast you get the hand of youtube. your videos have some great taste. also, making criss suffer while celebrating was actually very smart.
Congrats on 100k. You might not get a plaque for 200k, but still a worthwhile goal for now. Only Japanese sweet which came to mind for me from Japanese culture is: Awadama candy. I've never had, but maybe Chris.would enjoy it.
Sakura drops! I remember these candies from when I'd go visit my uncle (not a big fan of sweets and the only candy they keep stashed way) I've yet to watch Grave of the Fireflies and look forward to watching it. (My family members were born around the end of WW2, so it's going to be an interesting watch.
Incredible achievement Ryotaro! Thank you for all your entertaining videos. I've learned a lot about Japan through your channel. Keep up the great work 👍
Between the presentation, editing Easter eggs and stuff, I think I do more *DOUBLE TAKE* "WAIT WHAT" *REWINDS RUclips* moments in your videos than anyone else I follow. Well done on 100K sir, that shiny cutting board is well deserved!! - From A bored Abroad in Japan Viewer :3
Congrats on 100k!! I'm hoping to spend 2023 in Japan in order to go to a Japanese language school, and I'm planning to get inspired by your videos for my itineraries to travel the country on my days off. You've shown some really amazing places that we never would've known otherwise! Thank you and keep doing your thing!

Glad to see Ryotoro received his "Silver Placard from YT. Hip, HIP, HOORAY!
Wow, your channel grew so fast! I thought it was like 30k a month ago
Congratulations Ryotaro your show is awesome I knew you would be famous even though you are famous. 👍🍻🍻
Well done, Ryotaro. Next step, overtake Abroad in Japan.

NGL I’m here because of Chris.
I love how positive and excited Ryotaro is the entire time, and then there’s Chris…The Disgruntled Englishman. 😂
Congratulations on this achievement Ryotaro.
From your childhood? I'm surprised that there are some sweets during the Pleistocene epoch.
Ooohhhh he went there 🤣
He consumed a crude version of pemmican made of mammoth meat and taro root.
Help, these comments made me shit myself
"They're just bored Abroad In Japan viewers"
was not expecting to be called out like that
What's with the dog reflection at 1:53 ? You had me dying for a moment 😂
haha the dog behind the camera. nice touch and congratulations
The little girl on the can of hard candies is from a movie called Grave of the Fireflies and it's a wild time if you love depression and sadness. Yum!
PTSD: The Candy.
Man... I watched that movie once, then later my brother bought me the DVD because he knows I like Ghibili films... That was 12 years ago and I havent even taken the plastic off the case.
@@Bones12x2 it's a movie only a sadist would watch more than once. its a great movie but wow the emotions

Do you have a timestamp please? :)
I though I was crazy and seeing things lol
@@bookwormbon482 1:53, just posted my comment without seeing OP's lol

1:54 yoo, the effort to edit those dogoo! Congrats ryotaroooo san!
I'm loving this friendship. My friends and I roast each other on every moment we can.
Sakuma drops got me crying at work :'( Congrats on the achievement mate, and keep up the great work!
Yep, I watched Grave of the Fireflies several years ago. Still too soon...
@@BillCCHKK I watched Grave of the Fireflies in the late 90s and haven't been able to bring myself to watch it again since then.
As soon as I saw her on the box, it was too much for me
@@BillCCHKK I watched it literally 4 days ago for the first time. As soon as that tin came out, my heart dropped...
same like fuck. everytime i think of it i think of my lil sis

Congratulations Ryotaro!! 🎊🎉
We love you Ryotaro! Carrying Chris all this time!
1:52 Yep, that's a dog alright 😲 Congratulations Risottoro!
Subbed as a bored Abroad viewer. Until Chris improves his video quality, I’m all yours Ryotaro ❤️
I love that you are a good sport about Chris roasting you. I can tell he genuinely appreciates you as a friend.
Sakuma Drops are so retro it's written from right to left. Kids have been enjoying this yummy candy since Meiji 41 (1908)
100,000 congrats, Ryotaro san! tech that affable British who is the boss! ... ok, now, let's go for the 200K!
Anytime I get see Sakuma drops I buy them. I love them! Seriously though, I'm not crying, you're crying is so freaking accurate.
I was literally thinking about you today while driving and come home to see you uploaded this . Maybe there really is a god 🙏🏽.
I think about him a lot as well.
You deserve this and more, Ryotaro! When you get 1 mil, just take Chris's plaque.
Congratulations on the 100k subs. Although I must admit that the relationship with Chris brought me here, you're sense of humour, insight into Japan and wholesomeness have kept me as part of the notification squad.
On to 1 mil subs, let's gooooooo!
The vinegar squid and beef tongue cider combo was so deadly for Chris that he momentarily looked all of 60 years old.
yes i thought he did look younger there for a while.
I think Chris edits these. He regularly pokes fun at himself.
I like how Ryotaro pointedly declined to mention *how* the Sakuma Drop tin is used in Grave of the Fireflies...
Ryotaro tries to murder Chris Broad attempt #173: poisoned sweets.
He is one determined assassin.
Chris’ suffering is our entertainment!😂
Yes it is😂
1:54 The Camera”man” is a “Good Boy”
I think Chris secretly loves that Takeshi cat statue! And it being made of plastic is ideal, because unlike the old one it won't shatter if there's an earthquake.
Congratulations! When Chris lost the rings I was on the floor laughing :D
I just want to give credit to Ryotaro's editor on this video! Great job, and I love the little text inserts.

Congrats on the 100K Playbutton!
Is that Dave in a pan 😱😱
That takeshi manekineko present is so good!! as if Chris isn’t secretly laughing so hard about it
Also, it being made of plastic is a good thing, because it won't break in an earthquake.
Congratulations Ryotaro!🎉
Congratulations Ryotaro! You deserve it and more. Hope to see more of your content in the future.
So nice to see my favourite Brit in Japan! Nice to see Chris too.
I'm already predicting that I'll have some cool gifs and out of context clips to extract from the next video.

I didn't know Japan ate tongue, it's very popular in tacos in Mexico I wouldnt mind seeing the Japanese twist to it :P
Although they should definitely try the Mexican version in Japan (I mean those that live in Japan should try it)! So tasty, my fave growing up.
Congratulations on 100,000 subscribers Ryotaro ..great channel..thanks for all your hard work
I love the sakuma drops. You have to pick out all the chocolate ones and save them for last though. They don't mix well with the fruit flavour.
I like the Toei films intro homage! Always excited to see their logo pop out in the waves before a Kamen Rider movie~
I appreciate the Owen Wilson's "Wow" Chris.
They have such a special friendship that cannot stop u grinning from ear to ear :D
I like your videos very much, thank you for sharing
Thankfully, I still can find the Sakura Drop within Guam too. So, at least I grew up with this candy also.
