You can show a war without showing or talking about its outcome. No one is trying to rewrite history here. Its just a video game. You want to talk about a game trying to rewrite history, that was the battlefield game that said it would be real stories from the war and then they altered the stories and made them more action focused or left out entire people and replaced them with others who technically where there but gave them way more influence then they originally had. Or for a more modern time, the game set in the middle east (idr its name) where Americans used white phosphorus's even though thats a war crime and the devs said they was not going to include that and other related possible atrocities because it isnt appropriate or whatever.

Looks like they mixed up some the rifles (which is understandable) as it's not quite an M16A1. The M16A1 (Colt Model 603), variants had a birdcage flashhider and phosphate bolt carrier group. The one in the game has a 3 prong flash hider and a chrome bolt carrier group which is much more consistent with the Air Force M16 (Colt model 602) but it has a forward assist and a full fence lower which is more consistent with the Army's M16A1. Also, if you look closly, it has an A2 pistol grip rather than the A1 grip. They also have a trapdoor on the buttstock which wasn't introduced on production rifles until 1971. It's also worth mentioning that the ingame rifles are all black rather than XM Grey.

That sequence at the beginning has to be the worst helicopter part of any Call of Duty game I've ever seen, the flight paths are crazy (like speeds, distance between the aircraft, acceleration, etc.) and they even had the right helicopters in Black Ops 1 - here they used some modern version with four blades instead of 2 (not the Bell 412, perhaps 214 or something)
