Hello Sir. My child (boy) is 2 yes & 5 months. He speaks and identifies some animals, colours, numbers from 1-10, alphabets A-Z(may fail to sound F, G,N, We correctly), shapes, Fruits, Vegetables, Vehicles, Parts of body, planets of solar system ( learnt it from mobile) and some other words like Hi, Hello, Oh No. However, he communicates through finger pointing and gestures. He has no verbal communication. He understands our instructions. Is he on spectrum of autism ? How we may help him to bring to the level of verbal communication.

Sir meri beta 2 year 3 month hai wo pura kuch bhi bolta reheta hai but mujhe samajh nei a raha hai magar kuch chahiye to de de karke bolta hai or kuch word samajh nei a raha hai.... Komal Aftab We have an assessment process in my institute but it is purely our internal requirement for making plans.
I personally conduct assessment and guidance sessions for parents on Saturday and Sunday.

It is a positive sign that the child is uttering "de de" occasionally. Though it may be as a verbal repetition yet he is verbalizing therefore he must be encouraged and reinforced. Keep focusing the main weaknesses i.e. attention, processing and repetitiveness....His age is good since the delay is not much, working on these weaknesses (ASD features) will enhance his responses including verbal as well. In shaa Allah.

Depending upon his level; Involve him in pretend play with different toys, picture descriptions, bed time stories, social interactions...help him in initiating.
