Lee Hyori is literally the nation’s QUEEN. She’s such a big star, it’s insane. Jessi having her in her music video is WILD.
The woman with Jessi at the end is Lee Hyori. She’s a hugely influential kpop artist and has been killing it for so long (I think she’s in her 40s now). She writes/composes/produces a lot of her songs, and is super empowering and supportive for women. I would say she sort of paved the way for artists like Jessi to come in and continue to change standards and expectations in Korean society. Love her so much and love y’all so much too as usual🥰🥰

the woman at the end of the video is lee hiyori. she’s pretty iconic. she carried the whole ‘baddy’ persona for a while, she kinda rejected the whole ‘good girl, cute, innocent fresh’ look and sound. she got a lot of flack when she was out, people said she was too sexy, a bad influence, stuff like that. but she really kept it pushing, she was unapologetically herself.

leslie i didn’t say there was anything wrong with it. i said she was one of the first to reject it. like dizz said on the wap reaction, women should be able to see different versions of themselves, not just one. the cute and innocent persona can’t be the only one to exist in the media for asian women. it perpetuates the asian women are submissive narrative and that’s a stereotype. so different personalities and personas are good, none of them are wrong.

She debuted in a group called Fin.K.L, and actually did a lot of cute concepts. She was to my knowledge a success when she just debuted, especially because she was a very attractive performer. One of her most famous performances is in a song called eternal love, where people always talked about how innocent and pretty she looked while dancing, and there's a specific move where she flips her hair side to side, and lots of younger kpop celebrities copy it. It's that after she left and became a soloist, she actually started doing more mature concepts, like the 10minutes one. But she's gone back and forth, and one of her biggest singles, U-go-girl is actually pretty pop inspired, like of cute, sexy and girl-crush like. But something else like chitty chitty bang bang is pretty hard core. She's a pretty multi-dimensional artist. She's never rejected the "good girl, cute, innocent fresh look", because that was basically her image when she just debuted. It's just that she grew out of it. But I don't think she's mind going back to that style. If you're trying to paint her as someone who is against that image, you're painting a false narrative of who she is.

That woman at the end of the clip is Lee Hyori. She is basically one of the first and biggest K-POP stars. She has been around for a while now and she has a lot of classics. She’s definitely from a couple of generation before so it’s perfectly fine to not know of her but she definitely is worth checking out (not necessarily for a reaction) but to see a bit of the history of what has led to now

Lee Hyori was in one of the original Kpop girl groups, FINKL. She also had a hugely successful solo career and is one of the most relevant and influential people in Korea. She is one of the original queens.

Thanks for reacting to Jessi 😊. I don't know if you knew but Taemin left 2kids which is a Prologue of his new album which is called Never gonna dance again. Please can you react because Taemin wrote the lyrics and in the music video there is no choreography, it's only freestyle. Most importantly, Taemin will be releasing two new albums soon 😍. Act 1 and Act 2 which are related to 2kids.
